Stopped in to Swansea Schnucks to purchase a few things. The check-out line was long, as usual, so I went to self service. Scanned all items except apples would not scan correctly. Computer turned on light and horn for service. Clerk came over, cleared the fault, and scanned the apples with the same wrong description as before. I was frustrated, packed my receipt and wallet away, and left. Got home, and no apples. Apples were on my receipt. The useless clerk must have just tossed the apples on the bagging area. I was livid. Called store manager, and he agreed it was bad service, but offered no solution. I will never return to this sub-standard, high-priced retail grocery rip-off ever again...ever. You have better choices than thus store and it's lazy and indifferent staff.​ read more

I like this Schnucks. It's clean and typically items are well stocked. On the Friday before July 4th, I was able to find everything on my list. The cashiers keep the lines moving quickly. Had an incident about a month ago where my purchase wouldn't ring up using the self service register. Customer service clerk watched-and watched--me struggle. She FINALLY offered much needed assistance with a little bit of a 'tude. read more

I had to leave a full cart of groceries because the line was too long. My freezer items were already thawing. This happens every day around 5pm. Not enough employees for registers. They don't care how long the lines are. read more

Milk spoiled 3 days before expiration date. Many items higher priced than others. Disappointing.

Waited 30 minutes to checkout. Couldn't use self checkout because I had too many items. 4 cashiers working on Sunday afternoon

Very unfriendly and rude staff, especially the front counter. Unpleasant shopping experience.

Schnucks cut down self check to 10 items. Out of 13 registers only 2 open at Carlyle store. 10 people waiting. Keep self check out up to 20 items, or hire more checkers! read more

This is the worst schnucks to go to after 8 pm. The doors were the carts are is closed and one of the other doors is closed also, but you can't get a cart until someone is done with one. This is a horrible schnucks. read more

Credit when it's due...they seem to have put some effort into clearing carts out of the lot and keeping them available at the entry, and they also have more check out lanes operating. That said: 1. This store is ALWAYS dirty. 2. Plastic bag dispensers in produce section are often empty. 3. "Fresh" fruit is ALWAYS ALWAYS badly under ripe and almost none of it ripens with age like bananas do, so it's essentially unusable, Can't remember the last time I bought fruit at Schnucks. 4. They don't seem particularly adept at understanding customer buying patterns and adjusting their purchasing accordingly. Why is Lewis bread out so frequently while all the sawdust bread around it has shelves and shelves full. Do they not understand people don't want that trash? Or how about Blue Bunny Vanilla Bean ice cream? It's always the first to sell out, but there are shelves full of assorted "non-dairy desserts" taking up scads of space right next to it--no one wants that glop. 5. For heaven's sake, the so-called pandemic is over--open your front doors again. This store is outdated, cramped, dirty and poorly lit. It's time to spend a little money to bring it into the 2020's. Both Fairview and Swansea are much nicer stores, why not upgrade Belleville? Even Aldi's did a remodel over at Frank Scott and 159. You can do it Schnucks--be the Little Engine That Could and give it a try! read more

This is not my favorite Schnucks with in the vicinity of my house. I don't like that the checkout lanes are so close to the aisles that if they are busy you basically have to run someone down to get through to the next aisle. Heaven forbid anyone let you through and risk someone gipping them in line. I also don't like the whole layout of the store. The parking lot is just as horrendous especially if they are crowded. I do like that they have a drive up pharmacy window. read more

Disgusting how many people people - customers and employees- refuse to wear a simple mask in a place that sells food. It's not hard. Clearly management doesn't care since employees aren't monitored and nothing is said to customers about this. read more

You know what? This is a good Schnucks. It may not be in the most up and coming area, but it gets the job done. I've always been able to find what I needed here. read more

I have never had any issues with any Schnucks in any area! I think it's a great store with better prices than the other Grocery chain in the area! read more

Like this store but it is an absolute nightmare to check out. Never have enough lanes open. Might as well go to Wal-Mart if i wanted to wait in long line. Plus 9 out of 10 times i have to bag my own groceries. read more

Store is fine as far as selection goes but they can not seem to manage their checkout lines! It's infuriating. No matter what time of day there is at least a small back up at the express lane and the last time I was there at 6pm on a Friday they only had 2 registers open! Management doesn't seem to care as I've complained and nothing ever changes. I go out of my way to Schnucks in Swansea to avoid this place. read more

They put their slowest cashiers on the registers on Memorial Day! With no baggers! Poor management!!
