I love this place. It's another one of those spots that I cross provincial lines for in order to take advantage of. The location is easy to get to. There's ample parking available on the streets. It has a bar on one side and a family-friendly seating area (with a wood-burning pizza oven in the center) on the other. They serve amazing food and all the staff I've interacted with over the years have been friendly and accommodating. My go-to meal is a Guinness and the German Plate as it's filled with all the goods you want: schnitzel, sausage, spaetzle, sauerkraut, and potato salad! My mum used to make viener schnitzel and it was one the best things in her repertoire.... so this European restaurant really appealed to me and we drove from Montreal to check it out. We were not disappointed! The schnitzels were amazing! You can choose from pork, chicken or cheese and some different gravies and sauces as options. Other options include mashed potato, cabbage, spaetzel, fries, salads and more! We were there for lunch, it wasn't too busy... I get the feeling this place does get a lot busier in the evening. What a shocking surprise with this joint out west in Cornwall.. was driving to Cornwall and got pretty hungry and decided to check this place out with almost 900 reviews on google couldn't pass up on this place!! The goulash was very generously meaty and quite tasty. I also had a good localish beer on tap. I figure this is the best place to eat in town. There are some mediocre and lesser chains, but this place has a big busy menu with lots of locals and folks passing through. It has some of that beer hall style with a few folks getting festive. We were on our way from Rochester, New York to attend scientific meeting in Montreal. My husband was driving and was getting a bit hangry, so I yelped the closest place that appeared to show signs of civilization. Our curiosity was piqued by the positive reviews and intriguing name of Schnitzel's European Flavours pub. Most of the reviews were several years old and there were a couple of more recent lackluster reviews, but we decided to take our chances. I ordered a Rurban's lager. I generally think of lagers as piss in a can, but they were out of the IPA that was my first choice. The lager was surprisingly complex and flavorful! My husband ordered a Coke like a true American. Next we ordered some hors d'oeuvres, apple feta salad and poutine. They were out of the goulash poutine so we got the chicken poutine. Maybe it was the hanger talking but it was like nectar of the gods. The salad was also tasty--a nice combo of tangy arugula and a dressing with a hint of sweetness. We gulped down all the poutine and salad. For an entree we ordered the German plate. See picture below. A flat piece of crispy goodness sat upon a bed of pesto pasta. A decent pub restaurant. Service was friendly and efficient on a quiet Thursday afternoon for lunch. I had a turkey sandwich with yam fries and a decadent vanilla cake for dessert. The sandwich was pretty basic and the yam fries were just ok. I am a big fan of yam fries, but I wouldn't get these here again since yam fries are usually awesome, but these ones weren't, which was a disappointment. The cake was ok, but a little dry. I would be fine trying some other items on the menu if dining in Cornwall again, but no urge to come back here over other options. read more

My spouse and I attended Schnitzels with another couple. We chose this location because we have not been in a long time, and haven't double dated at a "fancy" location in even longer. As food goes, it's got some variety. It does offer schnitzel, it's namesake, it 4-5 different varieties. As for me, I went along with the fish. This was a rather expensive "first time trying" meal, but still under 20$ per person. What adds to the price, anytime you go out, is ordering drinks. But we had a running joke with Schnitzels that their rum and coke was mostly coke, and the size of drinks leaves a lot to be desired. But this isn't the kind of place where you order a meal without ordering a drink. "Just water" screams "I'm poor and I want to look fancy!" in this place. For two, our bill was 60$. That was 2 beers for my date and a virgin Caesar for me, as well as our respective meals and a decent tip. This is definitely the type of place I'll go to once every couple of years, if I want to splurge when I go out. Their lunch menu is interesting, though. I have returned since with a friend, and I quite enjoy their fire oven baked pizza. If you want to try them but don't want to spend a lot, go to Schnitzel's during lunch. No obligation to drink (though the waitress actually QUESTIONED why I didn't order alcohol during my lunch, and I felt obligated to apologize for being pregnant), and you can still get a decent lunch under 15$. Or you can save the extra and just head over to the mall, where you can pick from 7 different "restaurant". ;-) read more

I used to love coming here for great food and the service to match. Not anymore. The service was terrible and the food didn't make up for the bad service. My hamburger, when I finally got it, was dry and overcooked and my fries - cold. We waited over an hour for the food and another half hour for the bill. Sorry, it used to be a great place. read more

The jägerschnitzel is just outstanding and their brick oven turns out some great things. If you're a beer drinker, the Erdinger Dunkel is a must. Don't pass up an opportunity to get one on draft. I'm on the schnitzel hunt. We had the crab balls for appetizers, and they were phenomenal! They were bursting from flavors! This restaurant could be on the top of the list of one of the best schnitzel places. The schnitzel was nicely breaded with a good crunch to it. It was a bit on the "Flat Side" though. The side was herb roasted potatoes which were very pleasant as well. The portion sizes were pretty large. The service was speedy and very friendly. There is also a wide variety of food too, if your not a schnitzel person. I was pleasantly surprised to discover a place like this in Cornwall. The quality of the food is great, flavours are on point, ambiance is well put together, and despite the variety of different types of food, all of it is good. The service is excellent. Both times I've been here, the waitress made me feel comfortable. In both cases the server was never intrusive, yet always available and attentive. I definitely recommend. I withhold my fifth star for places that are so unique you could never find the equivalent elsewhere. While Schnitzel's has done everything right, they are just shy of doing something exceptional. read more

This is as good as it gets. We go out of our way (45 minute drive) at least three/four times a year. The service is top notch and we are always well attended to. The food is fabulous and very tasty regardless of what we have ordered on the menu. I have a preference for the mushroom risotto. My bride prefers the tour of Rome personal pizza. The value is comparable to plenty of restaurants. This place does not price itself out of the market. The staff is very dedicated. Having gone there now for nearly five years, we have seen many staff members remain consistently. The restaurant is situated downtown Cornwall and is quite accessible. A++ read more

The pizzas are great. They come out fresh and you can watch the guy make it. Noticed a lot of people commenting on how fast the service was... I would say that is dependent on the night and who's cooking because my food took ages. But when it arrived it tasted great! The caesars are shit, I asked the waiter for her most recommended Caesar and I was pretty disappointed.
