All hyperbole aside- this was truly one of the most memorable dining experiences I have had in over a decade. All of the dishes we are were thoughtful, fresh, and impressively executed. We began our meal with series of small dishes: a trout pâté, walnut/beet dip, mini sausages with sauerkraut. All of it was simply exquisitely delicious. For the main courses, we order the schnitzel. 1. It was enormous and cooked to perfection. 2. The potato dish that accompanied mine was like nothing I have ever tasted before. Pickles with perfectly prepared potatoes. 3. I don't think that I will be able to eat any other schnitzel after this. The owner was incredibly friendly and very hospitable. In fact, the service was impeccable. I will carry this food memory for a lifetime.

classic schnitzel with potato and cucumber salad!

appetizer were amazing defintley could've gone with the 9 option instead of 3 because you'll want to try them all. Schnitzel was delicious and perfect to share. The portions here are BIG so share and then it becomes more economical too! Enjoyed this place! They greet you with complementary beer as well

Great service and ambience, very good food and generally an extremely enjoyable dining experience along simple lines. The vfm offered by the German Tapas is excellent and I imagine that you could happily spend a few hours watching the Spree flow by from the terrace when the weather's warm enough. They could though do with adding Bloody Mary to the list of cocktails.

Definitely come to this restaurant if you want some good schnitzel. It was my first time tasting schnitzel and I loved it! Also you are given complementary beer! Not only was the food excellent, but the servers are very friendly and attentive.

Right after arriving in Berlin I had to look for a place with good schnitzel. On various lists I found Schnitzelei was in top3 of Berlin's restaurants serving traditional schnitzel. After arriving we had been given a small beer on the house (without even ordering). We ordered the 6 German tapas platter/ wooden board with various snack sized foods. Everything came beautifully served in small bowls with homemade bread (rye and beer bread). For main course we tried the schnitzel and it was simply amazing. The meat was super tender, with the right amount of coating, served with a small cucumber salad and traditional kartoffel salat (potato salad). The service was very attentive and although they kept forgetting and talking to us in German we thought they were very polite and friendly. I would totally recommend this place. It is a been off the beaten track but totally worth going. It's good to avoid the tourist hordes sometimes and enjoy your dinner with locals, isn't it ?

Their highly rated Wiener schnitzel and 3 German tapas. Also pictured, bread basket and apple drink, included free

My wife got their German tapas because she is gluten free and doesn't like traditional German food, and she was also blown away.

Fantastic local place to get some low-frills eats and beer! Very friendly staff who accommodated us…read morewithout a hitch. We came here after having been turned away by an Indonesian restaurant that was "full for the night". We are so glad that fate brought us here instead of that Indonesian restaurant!! What were we even thinking anyway -- forget the Indonesian food, get the local specialities!! Ordered the schnitzel as well as the meatballs and both were executed perfectly. Schnitzel was hot and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside -- not overly salty either. Meatballs were juicy and packed with flavor from the minced onions that they had mixed in. The beer (we ordered a Pilsner) was the best that we had tried in all of the Berlin and Dresden restaurants that we visited. I believe it is from some small private brewery affiliated with the restaurant somehow. Whatever they are doing, they are doing it right, so definitely order the house beer. Super cozy seating (you'll probably be sharing a table with other guests) and packed all night long but amazing vibes and casual comfort food. Would come back if I ever visit Berlin again!

They must have expanded as the menu seems the same and it was quite big and clean. Not a dive at…read moreall. Also they take credit cards. We tried to go to a nearby Greek place but they were full and kind of rude too. We walked over here and the place was empty at 6:30 pm so a bit worried. No need. The draft Pilsner was very excellent and the food was outstanding and reasonably priced. We got pork schnitzel and meatballs and it was really very tasty. Would recommend!
