The Schnitzel was great and probably the only reason for people to come by. Huge size, great crunch and nicely made no doubts! I have had better Schnitzel on berlin though. The asparagus and sauce were disappointing. Especially that sauce we didn't enjoy, it was a bit sour rather than creamy. You'll be charged extra for literally everything. A portion of Ketchup cost .70€. Price: 25€ for a Wiener Schnitzel that size is ok / slightly overpriced Overall a good place with good service if you love Schnitzel.

Weiner Schnitzel

Fantastic spot for authentic German/Austrian food. A bit over priced but the portions are huge so you may be able to split a meal. My husband and I shared the Weiner Schnitzel and a large mixed salad. It was so nice to finally have some greens! The veal was perfectly cooked, lightly breaded and not greasy. We could have easily shared all of it with a third person.

Best schnitzel I have ever had. Ridiculous portion (share it). It's the size of a personal pizza. Make reservations, they get really busy.

My daughter and I both had the schnitzel (I had the smaller "lady" portion) which was still plenty!

The food was very fresh and delicious but the service was spectacular. The menus are in both German…read moreand English and every server speaks English, they were also very helpful navigating the menu. Must haves are the Farmers ham with grated horseradish and pickles as an appetizer. The pumpkin soup was amazing with a hint of curry and the main course was the Wiener schnitzel was the star of the experience. The accompanying potato salad was incredibly delicious as well. Overall a great Austrian dining experience, I highly recommend eating here.

4.5 stars! Ottenthal was one of the restaurants I discovered while in Berlin. In particular, what…read morecaught my attention was the fact that it offered, by far, the best schnitzel in Berlin! So, given I was in Germany..and even though I never really dream of eating schnitzel days and nights, I had to stop by this place! I particularly liked that the restaurant offered pretty much very natural/no chemicals food. Everything was fresh and, shall I say, natural/organic...and they were committed to those types of ingredients. I also liked that despite a higher price point than most restaurants in Berlin, the staff were polite, friendly and relatable..and not a stucked up place at all! Now, when it came to the food, I loved all my dishes! The pumpkin soup was so fresh and Devine! The schnitzel..wow..shall I say, crisp and thin..and not oily at all! Eating it together with the side potato salad that was a lil sour and sweet made it a good combination without additional condiments for sure! Lastly, the Baumkuchen was wonderful! I had so much food that night that I ended up having to order Baumkuchen to go..and I was not disappointed at all! Good to try all the good things while in Berlin! Overall, I highly recommend Ottenthal! Sure, as the name suggested, Ottenthal is Austrian town..but hey..schnitzel can also be German! Go try it and you'd taste the differences between this vs other places! Just some minor half star off was due to price (it's slightly high compared to other options out there in Berlin for sure.but hey..tasted sehr gut!!), restrooms are down a set of stairs (pretty common for German restaurants..but I have no ideas how Germany deals with accessibility for disabled population!) and finally..the place is rather small..so make sure to make some reservations so you won't be disappointed if you showed up but couldn't get in!

We came here with some friends when we wanted an authentic meal from the region. We were very happy…read morewith our choice! I'm certainly no expert on Austrian or German cuisine, but what I've been told is that they are fairly similar. That was our finding on going to Austria. We had schnitzel, kspatzel, some lovely German beers, and the number of desserts that it incorporated rhubarb. The place has a very German/Austrian vibe with a lot of dark tone wood, a number of taxidermy animal heads, and some pretty intricate woodwork. They were able to serve our party of eight very quickly, and made for a very enjoyable and comfortable dinner, as we ended up staying there for about 2 1/2 hours. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. There's also a very nice park outside. It was nice to let the kids go run around while we were waiting for the food! The servers were very attentive and took good care of us. I have no idea about other Austrian options in the area, but if you're looking for something classic, this place is one you should check out.

Good solid spot that truly looks like an Austrian cafe. Two great servers run everything and I mean…read morethe bar, the front and the tables so it can get slow so have another of their great beers. I had the fried chicken with perhaps the greatest pan fried potatoes I've ever had. The rest of the table had the small schnitzel which looked great. The dessert however stole the show. I know it's all messed up but I think it's called Kaiserschwsrmen. Sooooooo good! I'd be back in a hot minute. Oh and have schnapps!!!
