Schmooze is a hidden gem! Its a lovely garden oasis right in the middle of the Old Town Scottsdale. The birds are chirping and literally run things...lol. Thankfully they are not bravw enough to hop on tables outside while you eat. The outdoor and indoor seating are equally nice but if you want to get work done finding an outlet can be a challenge so be strategic to eye the table that is close to one. Each time we went, we enjoyed something yummy. The grilled salmon with salad and fries was well portioned, fresh, and tasty. On another occasion, I had the Avocado Toast with smoked salmon and a vanilla latte with a shot of hazelnut. My companion had the bagel and creme cheese with a side of fries. The whole QR code scanning for your meal is cool. Its not too impersonal to me. Once you put in the order, the wait staff are generally helpful and friendly when they come with your order. I wish the place would stay open later then 3 but understand they start out early at 7. read more

I stopped into Schmooze expecting something completely different, and ended up pleasantly surprised. The space has two very different vibes in a good way: a beautiful garden/courtyard area outside that feels fresh and upscale, and a more traditional café-style interior inside. The restaurant itself was very clean, parking was easy, and the overall atmosphere felt polished without being overly formal. Ordering is done either at the counter or by scanning a QR code at your table, so it's more of an open seating, modern café setup than a full-service restaurant experience. Food runners bring everything out and clear dishes afterward, but there isn't much traditional table service. That made the automatic tip prompt during ordering feel a little noticeable, especially since guests are essentially placing their own orders. I ordered the arugula caprese avocado toast and added an egg on top. Flavor-wise, it was really good. The ingredients tasted fresh, the egg was cooked perfectly, and the combination worked well together. My only issue was that it was surprisingly difficult to eat neatly. The cherry tomatoes and small mozzarella balls were sliced in half and kept sliding around, the toast crust was very tough to cut with the knife provided, and because it's avocado toast, it became pretty messy fast. They also only gave one small paper napkin, which definitely wasn't enough for this particular dish. One thing I've always believed is that restaurants should actually sit down and eat their own menu items using the same utensils and setup guests receive because it really highlights little details like this that can improve the overall experience. The latte was excellent though, and overall I still enjoyed my visit. The ambiance and food quality made it feel elevated and inviting, even with a few small execution details that could make the experience smoother. read more

Ambiance hits! The vibes are immaculate with the towering trees outside and water fountain flowing. Each table comes with a QR code to scan to order your food. Seating is first come, first serve and you seat yourself. Once ordered they know what table you're at. They encourage you stay no more than 90 min as they do get busy and this way other people can sit and enjoy. There's seating inside and out. Tons of options on their menu. The food is pretty good and at a reasonable price. The coffee is also delicious. I saw everyone drinking one so I had to try the Irish bomb. Once you're done, you leave your plates. First saw this place months ago and am so glad I remembered I wanted to try it! Hidden in Old town Scottsdale, this is a gem! You have two options: seat yourself, scan a QR code and order, or go up to the bar, order and then seat yourself. The open seating makes it easy for you to pick inside or their nice patio. Today we opted for inside because it's so chilly out but there were plenty of folks on the patio. I got the traditional breakfast and my husband got to e breaking bad burrito. It's pretty hard to screw up a traditional breakfast so I wasn't counting on something epic but it was good- especially the potatoes. Yum! My friend and I stumbled upon Smooze as we were wandering Old Town Scottsdale on a Sunday afternoon and hungry for lunch. As soon as we walked up to what appeared to be a hidden garden filled restaurant, we were immediately curious to explore what this restaurant was about. The pato was covered with gorgeous flowers, gorgeous tiles and a fountain-we were sold. At this place you seat yourself and order from the counter. They had such a good variety of food options without the menu feeling overwhelming. We order the burger, Asian bowl and cocktail flights. The Asian bowl is a 10/10, there was so much flavor and portioning was generous for the quality and price. I really loved that they offered a 3 drink cocktail flight for $22, because I wanted to try all of their drinks. We tried the strawberry lemonade, Amalfi Coast, and Fruits of Your Labor (our absolute favorite). This place was clean, the aesthetic was perfect and the staff was kind. The Bloody Mary was so tasty. I love a good tomatoey bloody and it was perfect. My friend said her spicy one could've bit a bit spicer, but I liked my normal one just fine. They are open daily for breakfast and lunch. The morning menu offers omelets, avo toast, and sandwiches, while the lunch menu options include sandwiches, salads, and burgers. My chicken foccacia was filling and refreshing with great taste thanks to juicy chicken and pesto. I enjoyed lunch on the patio on a Wednesday afternoon. I had never been to Schmooze before, up until this month, now I have been twice! The location and hours is really a factor as to my double visit, but they do have great offerings and I feel a great option for any group size, meeting or work sesh. To start, you walk into a beautiful oasis of a patio! Lush, green, lots of greta shade, misters and an awesome water bar feature. It thent ake you to their inside space, which has ample seating and option to order directly at the counter or sit down and use their QR code system. I have utilized both during my visits. On my first visit I got a breakfast burrito, which I loved . It was hearty and came with all the ideal accoutrements, including avocado, pico de gallo inside and salsa on the side. It was flavorful and honestly just hit the mark! On my second visit I opted for the lox bagel, which fell a bit short for me. Though the lox was fresh, the bagel was below average and just did not hit the mark and felt a bit steep for the dish at $17. The cold brew I had was good, service was very friendly and I would definitely return to try some of their other items or opt for a Breaking Bad Burrito again! They do offer a lunch menu as well as a cocktail menu and would be a great spot for a little afternoon refreshment! read more

A wonderful hidden gem with the best patio in Arizona! My coworkers and I love to grab coffee and breakfast here before our shifts, and sit outside with our dogs on the beautiful patio. I love all the lush greenery and real gas lamps-- it feels like you're in Europe! The coffee is always excellent, and I always enjoy my food too-- I recently tried their Tuesday lunch special for the first time, which included a large chicken caesar salad, french fries, and a glass of wine for only $22! The staff are always friendly and efficient. It's a great place to meet up with friends for a drink, or bring your laptop to sit and work for a while. My only complaint is that I wish they were open later-- they close at 3pm every day, but I could sit and enjoy the ambiance all evening! read more

Place is great, but they just lost a weekly customer. Iv never been to a place that actually charges you for house coffee refills. I do a lot of work online and come here 1-2x weekly to eat breakfast and sip the coffee. Was shocked when I walked to counter and they wanted to charge 2.60 for a refill. Sadly I'll be taking my business else where.Just way to many other great spots in Scottsdale that have bottomless house coffee refill at these prices. We came to Schmooze for breakfast as a 12 person bachelorette party and sat on the patio! The place is adorable, and has lots of misters and fans for the summer heat. The place is filled with beautiful greenery - feels like a secret garden! This is a great spot for groups because you order individually off your phone, then employees run your orders out to you. Made our lives easy as a bachelorette party, and things came out fast! Just be aware everything won't come out together, so you may have to play a bit of a waiting game at the end. I had the Iced Peach tea and Caprese Avocado Toast - both were really delicious! The toast was large and filling, so perfect to fuel the rest of our day. Came here for breakfast and upon arrival I was impressed by the decor and vibes the patio and inside offered. It was a pretty cool location. My partner and I stuck to our usual orders for breakfast(we pretty much get the same thing at most breakfast places now because they provide a good comparison between each. I got a breakfast burrito and she got the avocado toast. We also got two lattes. Starting with the lattes, I got some fancy mushroom latte and she got just a regular latte. Neither was exceptional in any way, the flavors actually ended being pretty boring in both. Hers was expected, but I was hoping the specialty latte I got would be more exciting. This level of okay flavors carried over to the food as well. Neither the breakfast burrito or the avocado toast were bad, they just didn't have any over the top flavor that would have us coming back here regularly. The restaurant is a seat yourself, order off the menu cafe feel- which is perfect if you want a laid back time with your friends or family.
