I live on the West Side of Saint Paul and there was a giant hail storm about a month and a half or…read moreso ago. I called my insurance company (State Farm) and they are paying for a new roof and siding! Lisa, from Tacheny exteriors has been working with me since the beginning. She has been nothing but amazing the whole way through. If you think your home was affected by that hailstorm, give Lisa a call for a free estimate to see if you can get a new roof and siding for your own home! My roof was done today, and I could not be happier. It is absolutely beautiful and so well done. They even added new vents for better air circulation for upstairs. I'm giving 2 stars rather than 1 because the finished product appears to be fine. Not what I…read morewanted, but it is what it is at this point. The ProVia Endure windows are functioning well, and the lifetime warranty provides some reassurance, though that confidence was significantly eroded by the process of getting here. A 1-star rating would be justified based on the experience alone. I hired Tacheny Exteriors in June 2025 to install three ProVia Endure casement window sets in my home. The project involved creating new rough openings, headers, and framing. The original contract was $15,200. Electrical work was not in the bid. Once walls were opened, wiring needed to be relocated, adding $1,458. This can happen with older homes and is worth knowing going in. If you're having new openings cut, it may be advisable to have your own electrician on standby. In my case, I had no choice but to accept the price given since the walls were open and the project needed to keep moving. Two of three windows were installed approximately 11 inches from the agreed placement. The basement window was also misaligned by 4 inches horizontally and 1 inch vertically. Tacheny initially acknowledged these errors in writing and offered to move the windows. After key staff left the company, that acknowledgment was walked back, and I was told I should have drawn diagrams on the wall to prevent the error. The project consultant, installer, and production manager all left during my project. The building permit was filed incorrectly as a replacement rather than a new opening, causing a required framing inspection to be missed. Tacheny was notified by the city in July 2025 to correct it, but the inspection was never called in. When I raised this, I was told the error was the city's fault and that most cities no longer require mid-construction inspections. I verified both claims with the city inspector and neither was accurate. The inspector accepted photos but noted the gap in the final report and that a vapor barrier was not installed on the living room header. The permit was also filed at approximately $10,100 despite the contract being $15,200. The NFRC stickers on the installed windows did not match the ProVia spec sheets from contract signing, showing Southern climate ratings instead of North-Central with significantly different air infiltration numbers. ProVia would not provide formal written confirmation, so I obtained a signed letter from Tacheny confirming the correct windows were installed. This might not have been an issue at all, but my trust was completely undermined by this point. Communication was a consistent challenge with extended gaps in responses and claims of communications I never received. Information from Tacheny was sometimes inaccurate and had to be corrected after I verified details with the city inspector. The project required me hiring a lawyer and a negotiated $5,000 settlement adjustment. The initial invoice labeled this a "Goodwill Discount," mischaracterizing the adjustment, and had to be corrected. Contract to final payment took nine months. I want to note that the issues I experienced, including communication failures, installation errors, blame-shifting to the customer, permit and inspection problems, and extended project timelines, appear to be consistent with experiences described by other reviewers on both Google and the BBB. Potential customers researching Tacheny should also be aware that there are two separate Tacheny Exteriors listings on the BBB, one in Minnesota and one in Arizona, with the same logo. Make sure you are reading reviews for the correct location. The windows work fine. The challenges were in project management, communication, installation accuracy, and permits. Document everything in writing, verify permit claims with your city, and be prepared to manage the project yourself.

If I could give this company zero stars I would. After the tornado that went through Hugo in 2010 I…read morelive close to that. My house got hit with hail. I even upgraded on the siding with the foam and more expensive shingles. ABC made a hefty profit from working on my house. Yet after they finished my house my Air Conditioning didn't work. The wire was behind the siding and wouldn't fix it. They said for me to do it and they'd reimburse me. The guy I had doing it didn't have the fancy sheet for the bill. He charged me $100.00 for his time and effort. He had to drill a hole to get the wire. Then he fished with his fingers. Took him about 2 hours. Called Dave the sales guy that came to my house. He wasn't helpful. I call the main office the same in the picture. I even drove down there and showed them the receipt. It wasn't good enough for the people in that building. They didn't reimburse me. As if I made this up or something driving down to the south metro taking my TIME. I decided right then and there I'd never use their company again. Few years later another hail storm. I forgot about it . Dave the same guy came back. He came to my house explained that they put 4 nail in per shingle extra. Was going to have them do that. Then it hit me about the previous time with my Air Conditioner wire. I told Dave about what happened previously he said he would payed me and would pay plus he was kinda upset because I was backing out of having them do my work. He didn't do this the last time. I was on my own to get my Air Conditioner working because ABC put the wire behind the new siding. This is a true story. Call me at 651 three 0 7- 18 zero 8 if you don't believe me. Find another company. And the reason for this is because I saw the ABC advertisement on WCCO 4 news.

Legacy Restoration didn't just replace our roof -- they fought for us when no one else would, and…read moresaved us $30,000. Our story started in June 2025 with leaks in our porch and office. Friends recommended Legacy Restoration, and our estimator Michael Stanford immediately identified hail damage and began working with our State Farm agent. What followed was a six-month battle we never expected. State Farm denied our claim twice -- first calling it "normal wear and tear," then offering only mismatched patch shingles that would have violated building codes and reduced our home's value. Legacy refused to accept it. They brought in Robb Johnson -- a 30-year roofing veteran -- who personally documented everything and sent State Farm a comprehensive evidence file. Denied again. Still, Legacy didn't give up. Things got dire when State Farm threatened to drop our homeowners insurance entirely unless we paid $30,000 out of pocket -- by February 2026, in a Minnesota winter. We were also trying to close a HELOC that required active insurance. We were truly stuck. Robb kept hounding State Farm -- calling and emailing 2-3 times a week, coaching us on exactly how to communicate with our agent and adjuster. Within one week of our HELOC closing deadline, State Farm approved a full roof replacement. We didn't even need the arbitrator. Legacy worked quickly to get us the invoicing we needed to keep our insurance active and close our loan on time. We were likely the first home in Minnesota to get a new roof in March 2026 -- and the crew installed it beautifully in a single day. DeAngelo Funches (our Service Rep) and Jonathan Sanchez (our project manager) were exceptional throughout the build. If you need roofing, siding, windows, or doors -- especially if you're fighting an insurance claim -- call Legacy Restoration. They will fight for you like family. I am 100% certain we would not have gotten this roof covered without them. I cannot thank this team enough. Our deepest thanks to Michael Stanford, Robb Johnson, DeAngelo Funches, Jonathan Sanchez, and the entire Legacy Restoration team. You saved us -- and we will never forget it.
