We waited until the store opened at 10:00 to go through the drive thru and an employee started taking our order. When my mom took a moment to decide, the employee suddenly stopped responding and ignored us. We went to the front door thinking the speaker wasn't working, but it was still locked. We saw an employee inside, but instead of acknowledging us or explaining the situation, they walked away. Honestly, 1 star is probably too much. I normally go to the location in Conroe just off I45. The owners care. They make tasty sandwiches. A few times (I think 3) I have been near the Willis location so went there. All 3 times the sandwich was either dry or had no taste and was sloppy. I went into the store once, absolutely no one at the counter. All the workers were in the back where you can't see. I hit the bell they have on the counter. Took 3 minutes for someone to come out. I started just getting chips from this location because they can't screw that up which are now an obscene price of $2.89 for a tiny bag. You get to the counter, they don't say hi, they don't say thanks, they don't say anything other than the total. This has happened several times. You either hate your job in which case you should find a better one or you aren't trained well. Good food overall - the French onion soup was as good as ever and sandwiches were fresh. The bread was a little dry but tasted okay. Summary of our last 5 out of the 6 visits....once they gave me the wrong sandwich, once they shorted our family a sandwich (that's always fun), twice they've been out of TURKEY (like what?), now they are out of vegetables and pizza??? This place has gone downhill ever since being under new ownership. They've messed up our take-out lunch orders on numerous occasions, including but not limited to wrong ingredients... OR they will just forget items altogether. Mind you, we have only a 45 minute lunch break and our business location is 15 minutes away so if at any point any point an order is screwed up, we simply don't have time to go back to change it out or get a refund. Today, we decided to give them another shot and what do you think happened...? Not only did they forget two of our soups, but lettuce in the $10 salad my mother ordered was brown, wilted and slimy. Just absolutely vile and it's beyond me how they even allowed it to go out the door. My sister who usually picks up lunch went back by and received a refund for both soups and salad without a single word or apology from the two staff members working in the drive thru. Terrible customer service. Careless, rude employees. Long wait times in the drive-thru. Poor quality food. If I could you guys 0 stars I would. They messed up my order and when i called at 5pm 11/8/21 , The female that answered was rude and i had asked for soup and no onions because i'm allergic , the lady proceeded to talk to the manager ( another female). Who was cussing on the phone which i could literally hear her cause she didn't put it on mute and she quote said " she didn't ask for no fucking red onions" then they checked and specifically heard her say " oh on two sandwiches they said no onions" she got back on the phone i told her i heard you and ur rude and she continued to over talk me . Didn't even wanna speak to manager on the phone because i knew the manager was the one cussing . Absolute trash of a store . 100% never recommend going here. One young man came out to check and make sure everything was on point. We made sure we let the owner know how impressed we were with the service and cleanliness. Waited a good 20 minutes at the window before the food came out, the bag was badly torn and all the food almost came out. I really just hope they gave me the wrong sandwich because if that was supposed to be an original... no olives, no mustard, missing the other meat... and it was covered in mayonnaise, inside and out, absolutely soaked in it, wrapper was a mess, not one dry spot on it. Maybe people were having a bad day, maybe Covid really threw a wrench in their deliveries (a year later), but on my third visit I thought, nope! Pathetic. I wanted a sandwich and salad for lunch and after checking available options selected Schlotzsky's. The guy behind the register was friendly, if not entirely competent. While I was ordering, another customer brought his bag to the counter and said, "this isn't a turkey sandwich." Red flag number one. So I ordered a Pick Two with a turkey guacamole sandwich and a southwest salad. There was no actual description of the salad on the menu, but I had an idea of what to expect. No drink. Over $9. My food came out fairly quickly. As for the sandwich, the only thing I remember was 1/2 lb of shredded lettuce falling out the back. Not great but not terrible. Then I started on the salad. A Southwest salad apparently consists of a handful of wilted spring mix, complete with slimy bits stick to the bottom of the leaves, cold flavorless "grilled" chicken cubes, and the saddest, greenest, mushiest, most tasteless tomato slices I've ever had... topped by some stale tortilla chip strips. Any of the following could have made that believably Southwest: black beans, corn, peppers of any sort, salsa, chipotle, cilantro lime marinade, actual cilantro or lime... I'm sure I could go on. Come on Schlotzsky's. I thought you were born in Austin. Minnesota would be embarrassed to call that a southwest salad. Oh, and the breadstick. It was cold and seemed to have been boiled for several minutes in margarine. For the price, I could have gone to "Popular Bakery-Cafe" and gotten a better sandwich, better salad, choice of a couple kinds of bread or an apple, plus real silverware to eat it with. last night 05/03/2016 I ran in here to pick up my daughter some dinner while she was at volleyball practice. I ordered the original with out meat due to my daughter being a vegetarian. She said it comes with ham, I told her my wife and daughter were vegetarians so just the sandwich without the meat. She asked so you don't want the meat, nope. Then the girl working in the back came out and said "this says no meat" and I said yes, no meat. So I pick up my daughter and give her the sandwich which has ham and cheese on it. So 7-9 dollars wasted and I have to look for another dinner for her. It may have been the first vegetarian order in Willis Tx history. So was it good food?
