Bill F Terell Sheaf…read moreand Jordan recently visited our home for the second time in one week. The first time was to install a whole-house surge protector, connect a new electrical connection from the outdoor overhead electrical lines down to our meter in the basement and move the electric meter from the inside of our house to the outside front wall of our 2-story rowhouse (an additional fire protection upgrade). A week later, they returned to do some finishing safety-focused touches that were difficult to integrate into the first visit. Specifically, they: - rewired a single outlet in the living room with older wiring that was apparently missed in the 1980's when the house underwent a comprehensive electrical upgrade. The upgrade included adding AFCI circuit protection and running a new circuit from the panel - added GFCI protection and replaced faulty tandem switches in basement for washer and dryer - added GFCI protection and replaced faulty tandem switches in 2nd floor bathroom to remediate faulty functioning of heat lamp and fan - replaced existing two 3-way switches for upstairs hallway and and one in bathroom - AFCI circuit protection for the Homeline circuit panel Terell and Jordan appeared to have done an excellent job. Their teamwork, professionalism and obvious technical knowledge, experience with older houses and confidence was, like in their first visit (but moreso), obvious and appreciated. Terell in particular has a great touch with the client, exuding confidence, a great sense of humor and a desire to provide superior service to the client. He and Jordan make a great team. The two of them powered through the entire job in less than 3 hours (versus the 4 + estimated time to complete). As far as cost, the entire job, including the cost to obtain and coordinate post-job City of Philadelphia permits, came in at a very reasonable $1,000. Perhaps because we'd already sunk several times that into the first, more significant upgrade a week earlier, several items on the bill were discounted. Given the hours of highly skilled labor by the team, a couple fairly expensive equipment items and the fact that (pending City inspections) a fully modernized electrical system, I'm satisfied with the value Gen 3 provided on these two jobs. My overall experience (including a conversation with Amy about the Gen3 maintenance plan which I am definitely getting after satisfactory City inspections) was a 5+ stars. Highly recommended. Good people.

Our home started to experience "Crazy" electrical issues mid-November,2023 that became absolutely…read moretroubling and down right scary! Lights going to half power then to blinding brightness? Whole section of the house dropping out but no breakers tripping? Surge protector strips frying? We called our electrical service provider numerous times with no one showing up for days! Finally 2:am Saturday night I'm awakened by my son saying "Dad, the furnace is making a buzzing noise and electrical smoke / smell is coming from one of the circulator boxes?"" The Main is shut off! Sunday morning I make a call at 6:am to Terra Electric seeing their reviews and "24hr. Service" I figured I'd leave a message on their answering service. Well, needless a say I wake Paul up and after a daisy chain of apologies for the early call he takes mt info & address and said I'll be over later in the morning. Paul arrived, evaluated the ongoing issues and proceeded to check our service panel as well as our back up generator because it never picked in when we tripped the service main, Which he felt was odd? He stated flat out it's not your panel because everything checks out perfect! He said, Mark it your service coming in from your provider!! We went out and he notice a lot of moisture in the meter and did not like the condition of the drop and the meter base. He said lets manually switch over to your back up and "Bingo" everything in the house was run purfect!! Monday morning low and behold a member of our electrical provider finally shows says your reading are all good and plugs in a new meter and the generator drops off and we're back on the power grid. Laughing about my statement on my electrician is going to replace the corroded power line drop and meter base he leaves stating to put in a claim if anything was damaged from the bad meter. In less than an hour after the providers field tech swapped and left the electric starts going "crazy" again blowing half our spa breaker and the furnace thermostats??? Shortly after we shut the the main off again Paul's crew shows up and gets to work, Thank God! Terra had our new drop mounted checking everything over again and flipped the main back on to the grid? I'm telling you that moment when everything was running correct again was worth every penny!! They found the ground and natural connecting lugs lose up top which caused the current to connect and disconnect in the wind or power draws!! Thank You ! Terra Electric We have our peace of mind and power supply back!!!

I tested every outlet with a multimeter and couldn't find the problem. It was during the holidays and the gentleman from Terra came out to see what the problem was. He listened to all the information I had available, used it to narrow in on some areas I didn't check (light fixture in the bathroom) and managed to fix the issue within 45 minutes. While he was going about his work we made good conversation, very nice guy. He even asked me to, if I was comfortable doing so, remove the face plates on all the outlets in the house to save him time and me money. I had already done that once before so no problem there. Decent price as well for the work and I'm very particular about that since I do a lot of my own work on the house. I'm very pleased with them and will be using them as my go-to electrician for issues we have over the years with our old house. Very happy to have stumbled upon them!
