I had the ribs and chicken. The chicken was completely dried out (like leather dry) and had no flavor. The ribs were flavorless, but at least they were cooked properly. The only half-way decent item was the coleslaw. The place is also dumpy and dated looking. The awful meal was twenty-some dollars, which was too much for the small tasteless portions. The coke that night (April 29th) should be fired. Clearly, they don't know how to cook anything.

Worst bbq ever, thats why the parking lot is empty....

If I can give this place a 0 I would. our waitress was a older lady who seemed like she didn't want to be there. Girlfriend and I are from out of town and wanted to grab something fast and went to shacks bbq. Ordered fried green tomatoes the only thing we got that we enjoyed. Got our food wasn't that good. I got the beef dinner it was like they went to food lion and got a half pound of roast beef and heated it up. Mac and cheese was so bad "how the hell do you mess up mac and cheese? Girl friend got the the ground hamburger steak and got a frozen hamburger patty. So we was talking about how bad the food was. Then here's the best part... our waitress started killing Flys with a fly swatter on the empty tables next to us. Then walks away without even wiping the tables off... I WILL MEVER EAT HERE AGAIN... IF YOUR THINKING OF EATING HERE DON'T!!! GOTO CIRCLE K AND GET HOTDOGS INSTEAD..... NOW I KNOW WHY THE PARKING LOT IS EMPTY....

Looking for a good breakfast on the way to Legoland and Yelp pointed us here. We're from Texas and immediately felt right at home. Very friendly hostesses and staff and you tell Shack's has been here for a long time. A very good sign. Sunday morning around 10 and we had to park around back. The menu warns not to expect fast food. They prepare the food with care so be patient Corned beef hash doesn't have peppers or onions. Yea! But you can add them if you're into that kinda thing. Sausage (made onsite) and provolone omelet was good bit wish they offered cheddar. Hash browns - Again you can add onions, etc if you want but not sure why anyone would. ;-) Sausage gravy was just the right accompaniment for the hash browns and the tasty biscuit. May try the home fries next time. Pancakes were very not sweet at all so I can see adding some blueberries next time. We ordered some crispy bacon and it was crispy and delicious. We felt both restrooms could use a bit of cleaning. And it was a bit warm in the restaurant so we might wait till the weather turns cooler for our next visit.

Love their pulled pork on Texas toast! Delicious onion rings too!! The staff was friendly and attentive.

Pulled pork sandwich is ok. Mac & cheese is flavorless. Cole Slaw taste stale? Best I can describe it. Ribs were very tough and hard to bite in to. We came right at 5pm and everything already looked and tasted like it was really old.

This down falls:: 1. In need of a remodel ( dirty tile floors and Gas station Bathrooms (dirty) 2. Double the price of similar restaurants in the area. The bill for two people for lunch was 27 bucks. This place has small portions of food. The pork sandwich is nothing more than chopped ham from Winn-Dixie. It's not real barbecue. The baked beans were straight from can. The french fries have been under a hot lamp for hours you can tell. The portion size for the sides was only 2 ounces per cup. Very small. 3. This restaurant should buy stock and bounty towels. Everywhere you look from the silverware to the bathroom to the table. There was bounty towels. Cheap ones.... for 27 bucks I expect napkins. 4. The staff was friendly.. 5. The waitress offered a dessert. I was afraid to get it because I would think it would come in a 2 ounce cup with a bounty towel wrapped around it. Very disappointed in this place over priced. If I could give us zero star, I would.

Their fried chicken is amazing and totally worth the wait! The sliced pork and beef were also really good - tender and smoky. Most of the sides - green beans, cole slaw, mashed potatoes - were great, but the mac and cheese wasn't cheesy enough. I wasn't too disappointed though since everything else was on point. Our server was SO SWEET and made sure that a food allergy we had in our party was well taken care of. Hearty portions didn't leave room for dessert but everything looked tempting.

I love trying new places that are not chain restaurants usually the small places never disappoint. This place however did our greet at door was pleasant we were seated at table and that was the end of our great service. Waited for awhile before waitress came to greet us at table and it was as if we were bothering her. She took order and after awhile decided to bring us our drinks. My daughter ordered a hamburger came to table uncooked and just looked gross. Sides come in what I call a shot glass. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich pork was dry we had to ask for silverware. I can't even descrI've e how the Mac n cheese tasted my daughter said it's chef bourdee . From service to food not a good experience. Place was cute and seemed clean.

    Looks good.

The service was awesome, the location was convenient, but the food was lack luster. Ordered a sampler to share with our small family. The meat was smoked... that's all we tasted was smoke. It really didn't have any flavor. I put the meat on garlic toast that came with the platter, drowned it in BBQ sauce to get some flavor on the pallet. The beans were a bit crunchy, and the Mac and cheese was not good what so ever. But, the fries were crispy and the ribs were tender. But again, the ribs had no flavor. You do get a lot of food for your money. The platter sampler could of fed all three of us protein wise. You would still need to order sides. If you decide to stop by there, we hope you enjoy their BBQ presentation.

The interior of the restaurant was definitely bigger than I thought it would be, with plenty of seating for you to enjoy your food in. The staff was friendly but not all too helpful with reccomendations on portion sizes. I ended up ordering 1/4 pound of brisket and a side of baked beans. It came 2 slices of texas toast. I did like the fact that you had a choice of how your food was prepared, be it sliced or chunks and fatty or lean. The brisket was cooked perfectly and the sauces definitely added to the overall flavor. I was definitely happy with the size of the baked beans side amd ended up finishing the leftover I had of this later that night! The dry rubbed ribs with their house seasoning pair well with all 3 sauces - sweet, spicy or mustard based sauce. Brisket can be ordered sliced or chopped & lean or fatty based on preference of wanting a cut from the flat or point end of the brisket. We enjoy the sliced, lean brisket but also really enjoy the chopped brisket paired on top of the fat fries w / ranch & jalapeños! The brisket is moist and fork tender, we always order a 1 lb. portion so we have extra for later. The sides are well seasoned & flavor packin', never lackin! The collard greens were an exquisite culinary masterpiece. Cooked to perfection, they had just the right balance of texture and taste. The tangy and slightly bitter notes of the greens were harmoniously complemented by delicate seasonings, creating a symphony of flavors that left me wanting more. And let's not forget about the potato salad - a true testament to the art of barbecue cuisine. Creamy, slightly tangy, and perfectly seasoned, it was the ideal side dish to accompany the ribs. It added a refreshing element to each bite, completing the sensational flavor journey with its delightful texture and taste. But the climax of this gustatory voyage came with their peach cobbler. Oh, the heavenly combination of warm, gooey peaches, perfectly spiced with hints of cinnamon and topped off with a golden, buttery crust. This restaurant is pretty cool and there were plenty of people already indulging, so our hopes were high. Three of us ordered the chopped brisket plate, with x2 sides. The menus listed the cost at $17.49 which seemed reasonable. We ordered a few appetizers, some drinks and a plate for the kids (who ate at the festival) to split. They were very short staffed with only two people working the floor, one of which was the overworked (as far as we were concerned) bartender who took our order at a table. The bartender did her bartending and the drinks were very good. However, whoever was working the kitchen did a subpar job; and the bill was fouled up. My brisket plate included sides of onion rings and fried okra, along with cornbread. I personally was not happy with my selections, taste-wise. The brisket was fairly flavorless and seemed "old" to me. The onion slices within the rings were watery, albeit the rings themselves were firm (not much flavor however). The okra, again, did not have much flavor to them and I failed to finish them. The cornbread was nothing special either. The others felt their food selections were "okay", but this is my review and I disagreed with them - it could've (should've) been better. Upon getting the bill we discovered that we were charged $20.49 for those advertised $17.49 plates. There also was an added 'Florida Tea' cocktail that was not only not delivered, but never ordered. I recommend you check your bills thoroughly before paying. This may have been an anomaly, but maybe not. As for me personally I won't choose to return here anytime soon, unless I am outvoted by the company I keep.
