I'm sorry but we just dis not see what the hype was. Business seems like it could be managed better right from the start. I don't mind a 1/2 hour wait as long as it is worth it. This was not. The pulled pork had no flavor. The brisket sandwich was super fatty, not moist. Brisket bark had some good smoke. The sides were very disappointing. The fries were frozen french fries and they tasted that way. The baked beans had some flavor and not too bad. The potato salad was prepackaged and tasted that way. And then the cornbread had zero flavor at all. I hate being that guy but from all the raves, I thought we had a "smokin" bbq joint in our backyard. The folks here were super nice. Nine years between visits. Some of that is my being hungry at the beginning of the week and not meshing with their closed days. Their smoked turkey is definitely 5 star. The other mains, sides, sauces are "okay" but not memorable. A friend and I ate there, her first time, my first since the bigger building, but we're fine with more local bbq establishments. DELICIOUS! After recently moving from Texas back to Florida, I've been looking for my BBQ place. After this evening I think I've found it. I had the BBQ Deviled Eggs and Mr Creig's Combo, the three meat combo. I got it with the brisket, turkey, and sausage with the potato salad and BBQ beans. Goodness it was so good. We've been customers of Blackburn's since they had their food truck off of Eloise loop. Brandon and his team run a tight ship and are always serving up oak smoked BBQ. Today we stopped in for lunch and enjoyed Mrs. Teresa's combo which features two meats, two sides & your choice of cornbread or garlic bread. The turkey was fork tender and pairs well with their original or spicy sauce. The brisket was a bit dry but also think this could've been due to it being cut from the flat. For future reference, could probably request for lean or fatty depending on preference. The smoked cabbage & fried okra were both seasoned well and portioned generously. We came with friends and shared the loaded tots with brisket, garlic parm boneless wings, and pulled pork plate. All items are served fresh and make sure you try the sweet tea! The mac & cheese is creamy and features a white cheddar based sauce. Pair this with pulled pork and combine it for a flavor packed loaded mac. Drizzle it with sweet sauce and you're good to go. This place was surprisingly good. I had an appointment nearby when I got a text from my husband who said pick up some dinner. I was like well Blackburn was right down the street so I went over parked at the back. They had plenty of parking in the back and for a Wednesday it was really busy. They do have a takeout to go where you can order in advance and then park your car at a sign and they come out and get your food. There is a bar inside as well where you can sit down and order your food and maybe have a drink and wait while your food. The staff was very nice and accommodating while I placed my order my husband and I had pool pork sandwiches. My pull pork was on a Texas toast and his was on a hamburger bread. I also ordered pulled pork deviled eggs. My husband enjoyed his pulled pork and maybe one day we will come back and sit down and try the rest of their meal. read more

This was my fiancé's and my second visit to Blackburn's BBQ in East Lake, Florida, and it did not disappoint. The first time, we tried the pulled pork, which was absolutely amazing. This time, we went for the smoked half chicken with macaroni and cheese and collard greens. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, smoked to perfection, and so tender it practically melted in your mouth--almost buttery. It was so flavorful it didn't even need barbecue sauce. Speaking of barbecue sauce, Blackburn's makes and bottles their own, and it's a must-buy when you visit. While I haven't tried the spicy version yet, my fiancé and I purchased the sweet barbecue sauce, and it's incredible. As for the sides, the macaroni and cheese was creamy and delectable, and the collard greens took me back to my roots as a Southern girl--they were just like I remember growing up. Not only is the food outstanding, but the restaurant itself is immaculate. The lawn is meticulously manicured, and the interior, including the bathrooms, is spotless. To me, clean bathrooms are a sign of how much care goes into the entire establishment. The owner, Brandon, makes it a point to walk around and check on his guests. We had the pleasure of meeting and talking to him during our visit and hearing his story. He's truly on the right track with this barbecue business. We drove two hours to eat here, and it was worth every mile. If you make the trip, you won't regret it. Excellent, homemade food! We love Blackburn's BBQ for the food, the aroma and the waitstaff. The side dishes are delicious and all homemade which is unusual these days. The portions for the meat and the sides get smaller, and the prices go higher, each time we visit. It has been a year because of the small portions.
