The ribs were falling off the bone and full of flavor, the bbq pulled pork was soft and melt in your mouth good with the spicy cheese sauce that gave a kick with the seasoned fries. I got a side of creamed corn and corn bread that was sweetly delicious and moist and the corn was almost like a soup so good. All in all this place is full of flavor and fun! From the moment you walk into this place, you are greeted with a friendly smile and great staff. Tucked away in a shopping plaza is a little gem of a BBQ place in Davenport FL. The place SMELLS like BBQ. Everything was clean, the restaurant remodel was on point. We were seated quickly and took time to review the new menu items. We opted for the 2 person shared platter. It was AMAZING! The pulled chicken was so flavorful that you didn't need to add any sauce to it. I did, because I love the different sauce options. The brisket was tender, and packed full of flavor. I preface this review with the fact that we arrived at 8:15PM on a Tuesday night when they close at 9PM and I'm sure they had been prepping for close already. We started with the "Southwest Corn Nuggets" but I forgot to get a picture. They were DELICIOUS! The wife had the "Smoked Chicken Wings" in Habanero Sauce. They were good but a little dry. I had the "Smokehouse Sampler" and subbed the Prime Brisket for Brisket Jalapeño Sausage as they were out of the Prime Brisket. It was really good but again everything was a tad on the dry side. The sauces were also very good. The "touch of heat" I think it was called was my favorite. I would have liked the Carolina Gold to be thicker but it was still very tasty. It's be nice to see a sauce option with "No Sugar" as my wife can't have much sugar and it can make her very sick. Overall the food was good and we will go back again. Now for the staff. The staff was so kind, both over the phone and in the shop, offering us extra sweet tea and sauce to go. The ribs were fall off the bone tender. They paired very well with the sweet sauce. The pulled pork was juicy and seasoned well throughout. The sides though! The fries were seasoned so well. I loved them with the honey mustard based sauce. It was so good! For wings I did the dry rub and honey bbq. Wings were so tender and had a great amount of smokiness. Both wings were well seasoned. And the bbq sauce was delicious to dip the dry rub in. Since we're new residents to Davenport, we hadn't heard of this restaurant before, but we were excited to try out and support local family restaurants! I called ahead to place a quick pick up order - we decided on the Table for Two family meal and selected pulled pork, 1/2 rack of ribs, fries, loaded potato salad, and a premium side of mac and cheese. I had asked if they had an option of garlic toast or another bread option just because I'm not a huge cornbread fan, and they let me know that they only have cornbread muffins. However, they were just going into the oven, and they offered to dress up some dinner rolls for us as a one time offer, which was super sweet. The food was good, and the sauces were decent! I loved the seasoning on the fries (and the type of fry they use), although I felt that the mac and cheese could have been a little more creamy. We are a local and decided to give Honey's Bee Bee Que a try. The place is tastefully decorated with pictures of NC barns which is a nice change from the typical dusty country decorations. It's very clean and on the small size, but service was great. As for the food... we both ordered the pulled pork- it was delicious and not overwhelming smoke flavor that some bbq places serve. The sides were all great and serving sizes we hearty. Let's talk about the little nuggets of gold, the bee cornbread. These are moist and flavorful molded into a honeycomb shape. I could eat these everyday! Almost forgot, the dessert homemade peach cobbler- oh my what a finish. Peaches baked with a crisp sweet and butter topping all top with ice cream! Beans were sweet and paired well with the cornbread. Peach cobbler is not your regular southern peach cobbler. Has a very processed sheet taste to it. I love that the pulled chicken was wonderfully flavored but didn't come heavily sauced, it was a dry bbq that then gave you the option to add one if the sauces they offed at the table, as much or as little as you wanted. We were staying with Davenport Fl and there wasn't many BBQ options to be found. We tried Honey's Bee Bee Que and we were pleasantly surprised. We picked up some brisket, wings and some pulled pork. The wings were by far the best product. They were smoked perfectly and finished with a crunch. Both the brisket and pulled pork were ok but not as good as the wings. The pulled pork is wonderful and prob the best thing here. I did not love the ribs.
