    Black light mini golf
    Suzette S.

I brought my teenagers on a Monday when school was closed. They opened at noon and we really enjoyed playing mini golf and video games while it wasn't crowded. The place is very clean and well kept. The games are pretty exciting and newer types that all worked well. A game card is $1 and you can add any amount to it. We played with $20 each and it lasted a good amount of time for us. We had a mishap with a golf club and the metal broke while we were using it. We had to pay $16 for it, which was understandable.

This is a cute place to take the kids if you live in Waldorf. I went with my little cousins and we had a good time. Started out with glow in the dark mini golf, which is a good concept in theory, but it is so hard to see as someone with visual impairment. If you are younger with 20/20 vision, it might not be as bad. I wrapped up the day with an addition to the Willy Wonka coin game lol. It's my favorite arcade game and I would go back just for that. My mom ended up hitting the jackpot on one of those wheel games and she got over 500 tickets!! We walked away with a bunch of candy from their store. I didn't get a chance to try to food, but I saw they had a party room. The bathroom could have used some more attention, but overall the staff was great and we had fun!

From the outside it doesn't look like much but when you get inside it's a totally different story. Tons of arcade games, an indoor putt putt course and virtual reality area. The putt putt course is pretty easy. It could be a bit more challenging. The virtual reality was a ton of fun and my favorite part of our visit. They have a concession style stand for food but we ate lunch prior. We came a little after 2 on a Friday and it was pretty empty which was fine with us as it was just myself and my husband. We'll definitely be back.

*pre-COVID review* Miniature golf + arcade games + simulated play + tons of tickets + lots of prizes = a funky good time had by all. Honestly, us grown ups had just as much fun as the pre-schooler. The Halloween/scary theme was different, but kinda cool. The glow-in-the dark rooms only added to the overall "creepy" fun and excitement of the place. __ IG: @f.hux Keep reading... https://linktr.ee/f.hux #foodieHUX #yelpelite #yelpeatsdc #yelpdc

From the outside looking in, you wouldn't know what kind of fun is waiting for you behind that front door. Walking inside was like walking back into my childhood arcade days. That being said, there's putt putt golf, and arcade, snack shack, gift shop, and a VR (virtual reality) room. There's a bundle deal that you can buy that gives you a round of putt putt golf (18 holes), the arcade, and VR room. The golfing is fun, it's horror themed and there's music playing which makes for a good ambience. The arcade, which is pretty much scattered throughout the entire establishment, is really fun. There's all kinds of games for all kinds of age groups and some of the games give you tickets which can be used to get gifts from the gift shop. The snack shack has the kinds of food you would expect them to have like pizza, chicken tenders, french fries, and a bunch of candies and drinks. The virtual reality room is a lot of fun, i've tried the zombie one and the paranormal house game. Both of them were a lot of fun, but they have a lot of other options to choose from that aren't horror related. They also have a sensory night for kids or adults who struggle with bright lights and louder noises. I totally recommend 10/10. PS: I had the day's high score for their basketball game. Best day of my life.

It was ok. Not the best mini golf. The lanes are way to simple and easy. The place is clean and well taken care of and the staff are friendly. I'm only grading the mini golf on this star rating. It's a great place to take a small child to play mini golf but not a first date kind of place. I don't think teens will even find the course challenging or entertaining enough. It's just neat that it's indoors and has black lighting.

Decided to go here on a Friday around 3pm. It was pretty empty with only about 5-10 more people. We did the $35 bundle which got you a round of putt putt, a 15 minute virtual reality session, and a $10 game card. The putt putt was pretty standard but looks cool with everything being glow in the dark. They have a pretty good selection of games but not as many as like a Dave and busters. The main reason we came here was for the virtual reality. They do a good job of explaining the rules and strapping the equipment to you. The experience was really Interesting. I felt like I was gonna fall the entire time lol but the harness system kept me in. I would go back another time. Definitely would wand to go to this place when it's not busy though because it's pretty small.

We've been wanting to bring our 7 yr old here for awhile now and finally did. Wow!! I was so impressed!! It was such a unique experience! Our son loved it and we will definitely come back again. We were pleasantly surprised that the night we went was buy one get one free. They run specials throughout the month. The man that was working there was so friendly and kind. Everything glows in the dark. The entire golf course is painted with black light paint and lights up in such a neat way. There was fun music playing and they have TV screens throughout where you can watch the music videos. They had pretty much all 80s classics playing which was awesome and made me enjoy the experience even more. Doesn't get much better than mini golf and Michael Jackson's thriller combined!! lol. The course was a little challenging but not too hard. Definitely geared towards younger players which is good. The artwork throughout the whole thing is amazing. The sculptures in the paintings on the walls were all on point. There were quite a few benches throughout the course which was a really nice touch when you need to sit down to tally up your score or what not. They have a arcade type games where you can win tickets and then redeem for a prize. They have reloadable cards that you add your money on and scan each time you play a game. It's nice not to have to deal with tokens and tickets anymore. They had typical prizes for redemption and my son walked away with a handful of trinkets that he was thrilled about. It wasn't too busy when we were there but it was a Thursday night. I really hope they get good business on the weekends. We definitely enjoyed ourselves and it was a really fun family outing for us. We look forward to coming back again!

I really wanted to like this place! I'm being generous with the third star. Let me start by saying that the staff were very friendly and enthusiastic. I've only done mini golf while at vacation resorts. Waldorf, at least since I've been here, has never had a mini golf/putt putt. So it's a nice start! This is (obviously) an indoor, Halloween themed mini golf, with black lights. It's a little hard to find, its in a mostly empty strip mall behind the Festival Way shopping center and across from the Waldorf marketplace shopping center. Kind of behind silver diner and cvs. When you go inside, it's a pretty big place, and dark. But it's mostly empty. There's a couple good arcade games in the back, and a little cafe. They have basketball, air hockey, and other typical arcade games. If you want to play any arcade games, it's the same concept as Dave and busters or Chuck E. Cheese, with game cards instead of coins/dollars. The mini golf costs $10 a person, and they do offer combos with the arcade and food. The mini golf itself looks pretty cool. They have cool statues , the walls are all painted murals, they have stuff hanging from the ceilings and lots of strobe lights and good loud music playing, varying from the 80s hits and today's music too. They also have flat screens with music videos playing on them. I took quite a few photos of the courses. But, out of the 18 holes, they're nearly all the exact same thing. Most of them are just basic courses with a few colored stepping stones. There's no real challenges... besides this ramp thing which they reuse in probably 4 of the courses. Sometimes your ball goes through it, sometimes it bounces back at you, and sometimes it comes out of the left side. That's the biggest obstacle of all the courses. It gets pretty boring once you realize that they're all practically the same thing. I hope this place will last long, and I know they just opened, but I think it needs some improvement. One thing we mentioned to an employee that they should add is laser tag. Im pretty for sure the closest laser tag is Alexandria, and that addition would really make this place worth 5 stars. Just a thought! But I do think they should make the courses different and add more challenges. Overall, we came as a family of 6 and had a lot of fun!

My review is not about his efforts as much as it's about the quality of the machines. He seemed to be a bit unsure on how to manage certain games in terms of set up and overall navigation. My headset and VR space kept glitching where I would be stuck at the Home Screen while I was actively in a game or my screen would go blue. My controls frequently glitched in the middle of a game before they went out completely. He was having to bounce from my room to my friend's room while also accepting customers. It was just too much for one person to manage. We didn't finish our game time out of that frustration alone. I couldn't see myself coming back for those reasons.

I booked a party for my son, I picked a time and was told just email if anything needs to change and if we wanted to add another hour that would be fine also. I emailed the next morning saying I need to change the time... no response. I went back there a few days later to talk to the person, he never came to the front. Sent another email that evening..no response. So I came in early the day of the party and he tells me he's had a busy week and didn't get to the emails but my time change is fine. I also point out that there is no phone number and he has me scan a digital card that still has no phone number. The party time was 4 pm, granted my son and friends didn't start coming until 4:05 but there was someone else still in there playing. I'm supposed to have the whole spot. About 4:15 the man starts helping the boys get set up. 1 man, multiple children. Eating into your time because they cannot play anything without him setting it up. Too much for 1 person, at the end he did say there was supposed to be a helper, but from another yelpers review I'm not too sure about that. 6 pm came and he's asks if we were doing another hour, I said no. But my husband did ask about getting the 15 mins of time that was wasted, he already had another group in and said we could wait for them and then come back. I said no, because that honestly made no sense. Price is great. The man working is friendly. But they need to be more responsive and need to have more than one person working a party. The back room/party space is also very small,I think the website says parties can be up to 20 people, but ain't no way.

A couple of days later, a R&H employee called me (I think her name was India) and asked if I could move my time to either 12:30pm or in the evening - 5:30pm because when I booked, there was some kind of system glitch. She didn't really provide any great details, but I assumed she was telling me that two groups were booked at the same time. It sounded a bit sketchy to me since she didn't really provide much details. I told her that I don't think it would work for us, but I would reach out to my colleagues. I reached out to everyone in my party and as suspected, the earlier time did not work for the entire group. I reached back out via text to let R&H know. The next day, someone called me again and told me that if I cannot move up to 12:30pm or later in the day, then they will have to cancel the booking and I will be refunded for it. Despite booking less than a week before the event, I had been planning a teambuilding event with my colleagues for over a month. I didn't want the opportunity to go to waste, so I reluctantly agreed to move to the 12:30pm timeslot. R&H did tell us we can return free of charge in the future due to inconvenience. When we arrived on Saturday November 23rd, we had a colleague who was arriving a couple of minutes late. We were informed that we would still have to end on time because there was a party scheduled afterward. HMMMMM!!! This is when my suspicions became confirmation. I always suspected there was something odd about the "system glitch." I don't believe there was a glitch... I believe there was someone who wanted to host a party there, during the timeslot we originally booked. I totally get why they would want to cancel our session - they would receive a lot more money from the party than our group. I do, however, think this was a bad business decision. This was something that showed a lack of integrity... I would have preferred they be honest and say, "hey, someone really wants your timeslot." I don't like the way they handled this at all. Because of this, I am deducting two stars from what would have been a five star review. If you're interested in reading about the actual escape room experience, here it is: Despite the escape room being a bit dusty (it needs a cleaning under and around some areas), we had a BLAST in the actual escape room. We did the Cell Block room and we did not escape, unfortunately. It was definitely a challenge! Maybe if we had our fifth group member we would have made it further. It was so much fun and it looked like it was a Black owned business. I love supporting Black owned businesses but I am not sure I can support this one based on how they move. Despite being able to return for free, I don't think I will... who's to say there won't be a "system glitch" when I book again?

It's easy to get to and appreciate that parking is simple via the attached garage (albeit the garage is interesting and could be the scene of a horror film). There are ample food options as well since this place is nestled in Ballston with the outdoor area on Wilson crawling with restaurants. If you need something quick, fast casual spots and fast food in general are offered in the food court inside of the mall. Now for the actual game review. It's best to book in advance online. Things are super easy and much faster; you also do not have to pick a game right away. So far I've played the Floor is Lava, a more family oriented one with my nephew, and most recently Squid Games with my nieces. Note that the latter is better suited for older kids. My youngest niece who is 5 had a couple of issues maneuvering her avatar during Squid Games. Of the three I played, Squid Games has been my favorite, naturally. Youngest niece kept dying every time she stepped foot. I was telling her to go left go left and she screamed back at me that she hadn't learned left or right yet, then proceeded to get picked off. Game aside, please note you are welcome to purchase drinks from the room. If you are playing a game that's more than 30 mins, note you will need water. There is a lot of moving around. Also note, sadly the water is Dasani so prepare to have your tastebuds assaulted.

I went with my niece and was genuinely surprised by how much fun we had! The games were interactive, challenging, and a total blast. If you have kids or are looking for a unique family outing, I'd say the passes are well worth it. One quick tip: Know exactly where you're going before you arrive. I didn't realize the location is on the outside of the mall, which wasn't a big issue for me, but it could be frustrating if you're tight on time. The confirmation emails do a solid job providing directions--if you're driving and parking. But if you're getting dropped off (like I was via Uber), the signage and location can be a little tricky to spot. A minor hiccup, but something to be aware of.

I would give this experience a 3.5 rating…read more I enjoyed the experience overall, but there were several tech issues during my allotted time - audio wasn't working, headsets weren't fully charged, etc. The person running the experience gave us some extra time to account for the tech issues, but it definitely took away from the enjoyment. The games also don't really have good tutorials when you start them, so it took some time to figure how to properly play most of them. It's about $50 per person for an hour of game time, which seems a bit excessive for what you get. It's a cool experience to try once but not sure I'd do it again for the same price.
