I was highly impressed with this restaurant. We ordered the garlic cheese bread it was good but not my favorite, the entrees however did not disappoint. We had the pepperoni garlic pizza with sausage and was really tasty, there pizzas are brick oven fired! We also got the pesto Pasta and shrimp scampi and I was again impressed, there was plenty of food for the price. The staff was really friendly and the food came out quickly. I've heard there dessert is amazing so I'll have to try that next time. I saw many people ordering it! I would come back here again. read more

Scarpas - Pepperoni and sausage garlic pizza and pesto pasta with shrimp scampi - Pizza Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

One of the best Italian restaurants in Albuquerque. That pasta Aragosta is amazing. So delicious. I think the pasta needs just a little more sauce. read more

Went to lunch with a good friend. Our waiter Bill was amazing. We split a half salad and he was sweet enough to bring two plates and a slice of yummy buttered bread for each of us. Then when he was plating our amazing leftovers he brought us another slice of bread, wrapped in foil. Just little touches that show he's really good at his job! And of course the food was yummy! read more

Scarpas - Always a good time when I'm with my girl Nay!! - Pizza Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

Cute and casual with delicious pastas, pizzas and salads. The salads are big enough to share. We always get the pasta aragosta and the southwest marinated chicken salad, and share. A peroni or a nice glass of wine would have been perfect but it was a tad too early to get started. We got the Spumoni gelato, a tad on the ice cream side than gelato. However, it was delicious. Service was decent. I saw my favorite waitress, we didn't get her, she has dark straight hair with bangs. I don't know her name but she is the best. If you are lucky enough to have her as a server, you will have a warm and friendly dining experience. As we were checking out, our server Corina, brought us a frequent diner card already stamped. We were discussing which one of us remembered to bring the card. Thanks for that added detail. We really appreciate your thoughtfulness! read more

We hadn't been here in awhile and it was better than remembered. Food was excellent and attentive service. Reccomend the hot bacon bleu salad. So good. Red chile cream pene pasta was awesome. Just the right amount of heat. You cant go wrong. We will be coming back more often. read more

Delicious food, great service and great setting. Highly recommend. We are out of towers, and are glad we found this gem.

1st.... Terrible parking for handicap... 2nd food was ok... 3rd. There is absolutely no lighting at the main entrance/exit... pitch black uneven tiles making it difficult for someone to walk out with a walker... First time there.... Wont be going back read more

This Italian restaurant is one of the best I have ever been to. I like how Scarpas manages to put an New Mexico twist on classic Italian food. read more

Wood fired pizza. Customizable toppings. Salads Pasta Good size potions at reasonable prices. Local beers and wines. Friendly staff. Yummy! read more

This is a reliable old standard for us. Food is never insanely good, but it's tasty and prices aren't too crazy. I love their salads, which are HUGE. The red chile cream pasta is yummy if you're in the mood for a heavier meal, and their pizzas, all thin crust, are good, too. I get the four season pizza, toppings all mixed up, with sun tomatoes instead of the salmon and extra goat cheese. A waitress clued me in on that special order years ago; said it was her favorite custom pizza, and I've ordered it ever since. My husband and son love their cheese bread and we've ordered their Apple dessert a few times... It's good! A star off for pricing, since I always leave feeling like we spent $5-10 more than we wanted too. But overall, a great place to meet a friend for lunch or take the family to dinner. read more

I have to preface by saying I never write reviews for only the reason that I forget, but I didn't want to forget to post this review. My husband and I couldn't decide where to eat for lunch and finally decided on Scarpa's. I had only picked up food from them a couple of times during COVID, but this time we dined in and ordered the house salad, the Italian Sausage pizza and the Torta Di Mele for dessert. Everything was delicious, but the Torta Di Mele was the BEST dessert I have ever had....and I've had many desserts in my lifetime. The pallet was going crazy for both of us with each bite. This dessert is a must for anyone who decides to visit this restaurant. In addition to great food, it was refreshing to get "great" customer service. Five stars all the way. Thanks, Scapas for a great lunch experience....it won't be our last, that's for sure. read more

The lunch salad and pizza were most excellent. We also had the tort dessert and it was wonderful. The service was very good. I highly recommend Scarpas. read more

Scarpas - Cheesy bread in the shape of a Zia Sun. - Pizza Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

Super disappointed we got a Togo pizza here and very lame. Just extremely basic and the pizzas are small. The pizzas are not shareable btw.

This place has changed under new ownership. Heard they were instituting a new phone call in service called RBT. Should be a big upgrade. Hired a new chef, from Goleta, known for his combinations and banter with customers. Stay away from the ipicac. read more

Still one of the best desserts I'm Albuquerque. Unfortunately, they've made their portions smaller, I'm sure due to inflation, but still so tasty read more

Love Scarpa's. The first time you eat there is incredible. The second or third time, not so much. I don't know. Just my opinion. Is it better than Giovanni's? Idk since they killed the owner I guess I will never know, but Giovanni's was my favorite. Scarpas is just a weak second since they haven't been shot yet. Maybe that is the Italian way. Maybe that is John Wick 5. Idk. I'm sure some white Karen or here poor husband will post how funny my review is, since all they can do is post a funny face. Btw, I hate Karen's. And Karen's are not some unhappy accident. They are a concentrated white example of racism and classic privilege, but they love to talk about it. Anyways, I would fuck a Karen, but god I would hate to date a Karen! read more

Quite disappointed with our anniversary lunch today at Scarpas. I was there three weeks ago with my Mom and had excellent service and wonderful Shrimp Scampi pizza. I loved it so much that I ordered the Scarpas Shrimp pasta today. I was shocked that my pizza had 8 shrimp when the pasta today only had 4 measly shrimp. It was like an appetizer portion of shrimp swimming in sauce and pasta- nothing else. Our server was young and overworked, but did little to change the frigid A/C blowing on us. It was 72 degrees out and did not warrant maximum A/C. We ended up changing tables- which only helped slightly. As it was our anniversary, we had a coupon for a free giant dessert which was the highlight of our meal. Our server stated that there were two bills -before and after the dessert price was removed. We paid in cash. As we were entering our car, the server ran up to us exclaiming that we underpaid her! She held up the before discount bill and was completely clueless. It took both of us explaining the bill before she understood. Seriously humiliating being chased down for underpayment! We will return, but only order pizza and hopefully avoid that server!! read more

Waste of money!!! If you have the money to spend on this over priced restaurant than take the time to make it yourself. Over priced for what ya get. i got New Orleans Pasta. 4 little sausages bland sauce like a spoonful of it. $13.00 i'll never again eat here again. read more

We did a take out order and the order was perfect - great flavor on chicken Alfredo, kids loved their spaghetti and meatballs and we also had a pesto scampi with the gluten free noodles - just delicious! Definitely get their cheese bread also. We were passing through town and it was a perfect dinner after a hard day. read more

Probably the best pizza in town. Definitely the best salad in town. Haven't tried the pasta or dessert yet, but very soon! Love this place and the service is incredible. read more

Great place for lunch or dinner. Prices are good - especially for the quality of food and the service. I do prefer pasta over pizza 99.9% of the time but this is some great unique pizza. I enjoy places that have such a fresh menu. I always get a couple gift certificates every I stop in- they make for great gifts or tips!! read more

Always my go-to restaurant for Italian food. I have never ordered anything on the menu I have not enjoyed. The food is phenomenal and the service is always very attentive and friendly. My recommendation is the Carne Tripolo Pizza which is Red sauce pizza with cheese blend, pepperoni, Italian sausage, pancetta bacon, green chili and cheddar cheese according to the menu. Always fantastic service and food! read more

I used to love this place. I'm hoping this was just a bad day... I took my daughter to eat at the Academy Scarpas for lunch. We knew what we were going to order right away. When our drink order arrived the waitress forgot my drink. Then she came back with it 10 minutes later, and finally took our order. I ordered the Insalata de Pollo (grilled chicken salad) and my daughter ordered a half house salad and a pizza. I got my salad at the same time my daughter got her salad. By the time her pizza finally arrived I was done with my salad. I really think the waitress forgot to ask for the pizza! The salad I got was well-dressed and huge (bonus!) but the chicken was so dry and left half of it on my plate. My daughter's pizza was greasy and looked as if it had been sitting out for a long time. The waitress seemed like we were bothering her when we asked for more iced tea. When she gave us more tea, it was warm and had no ice (I hate that!). Like I said before, I'm willing to go again, but not anytime soon! read more

This was my first taste of pizza in New Mexico (just moved here) and my goodness, this has got to be some of the best pizza I've ever had. I had the eggplant pizza while my boyfriend had pepperoni. Both very, very good. His crust was slightly burned and that made it even better! Our waitress was friendly and everything was great. Will definitely be back! read more

Scarpas - Pizza Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

I am appalled that we are sitting inside with every table being filled with customers and these tables are way less than 6' apart yet this place has a sign posted "6' Apart" on the please wait to be seated sign". I watched the wait staff merely wipe down the table top as you would see them doing before the global pandemic! No COVID-19 safe practices being followed! The ONLY reason I am even here is because my spoiled wife insists on eating at places that overcharge for mediocre food! Eff this place! read more

You can't go too wrong at Scarpas. Their gourmet personal pizzas are wonderful. I am partial to both the Eggplant Parmesan pizza and the Primavera pizza. There's a wonderful salad that's great to split before your pizza arrives, but alas, I cannot remember how it is named on the menu. I am pretty sure that it involves walnuts and blue cheese crumbles--a winning combination in my book--but what makes it is the dressing. Our seasoned, pleasant waiter revealed the recipe to us, but of course I can't remember what he told us. If you're craving dessert, there's only one on the menu. It does, however, get the job done pretty nicely. If you're picky about desserts, though, plan to head elsewhere, or else just pick up some ice cream at Smith's. I love eating there, but last time I was there, a pint of Sierra Nevada was $5. I don't recall it always being so expensive, but maybe I just have selective memory. In any case, there's no reason to charge $5 for a stinking pint. I actually prefer this location over the other location on Montgomery. This one feels a little cozier to me, and for me, that's a big part of the charm of Scarpas. I've never been displeased with the food, though, at either location. read more

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Albuquerque. I am originally from Albuquerque ,but I live out of state for college. My entire family fights over taking me to this place when I come back into town because they know there is nothing that makes me happier than their Ensalada de Pollo salad, Pepperoni Pizza, and their delicious Torte dessert! Seriously, the Ensalada de Pollo is to die and so is the dessert! You have to try both, but make sure you go with a friend and share because their servings are pretty generous. They have a variety of crazy pizza concoctions. So if your ready for some cheeseburger pizzas, caesar salad pizzas, eggplant parmesean pizzas and many more than this is the place for you. I have tried some of their Pastas and they are not as impressive as the pizzas and salads. I don't hate them... I just always wish I ordered my usual Salad and Pizza. They don't really have a happy hour that I know of, but they do have a lunch special where you can get a smaller pizza and a half house salad. I wish they offered the lunch special all the time because it is just enough for one person. I can never make up my mind whether I want a pizza or a salad so I usually over do it and order both. It's crazy if you don't like this place! I've been searching all over my current home in Sacramento, CA for places like Scarpas...haven't found one yet :( read more

I used to really love Scarpas. My favorite thing to eat was the apple dessert which was a puff pastry with thinly sliced apples, caramel sauce, whipped cream and ice cream. It was big enough to serve 3-4 people. I was severely disappointed the last few times I got this dish as there were barely any apples on top and it was half the size of its former self. My favorite pizza used to be the Pizza Primavera with fried eggplant on top. This too has gone downhill. The amount of toppings has been vastly reduced as well as the size of the pizza. With the emergence of some better pizza restaurants in town, Scarpas had better return to its former quality in order to compete or I will not be returning. read more

Upon entering there is an off-putting scent. It took about 5-10 minutes of us standing in the entry way of the (nearly) empty restaurant before anyone came out from the back of the restuarant to acknowledge us. Ugh...I tried all three soups and none were good (the gave me litte samples--which was nice). The house salad was decent and the Red Chile Cream pasta was pretty good too. I was put off by the smell though....and the dingey bathrooms. I may be back during a busier time because all three of my companions seemed very impressed with their pizzas and the waitress was nice. read more

Scarpas is a place that I've been to many times. Each experience I've had has been hit or miss. Sometimes it's the food... Sometimes it's the service. I will say the one thing that has stayed a constant is they have delicious salads. They have a delicious house vinaigrette dressing and the salads are huge! read more

Scarpas - Pizza Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

We went here with our friends expecting great pasta and pizza. My husband ordered the Cheeseburger Pizza, and came home with the worst heart burn. My pasta never came out, because they somehow had mistaken my order with a Shrimp Scampi Pizza. After a 40 minute wait for our food, I decided to just keep their mistake and try to enjoy pizza. FAIL. My husband and I are never coming here again. read more

The salads are sooooooo goooood here! You can't go wrong! The staff are friendly, but seem to get easily distracted. Sometimes it takes a bit to get my bill. I personally always get the caprese and add chicken. read more

We had salads to go. So yummy with just the right amount of chicken. Garlic bread had too much garlic. I will request plan bread next time.

Oh yeah. I've been away from the delicious mess that is Albuquerque for 4 years. Happened to visit and ended up in Scarpas the first night in town. Oh, yum. yum. yum. As I remembered, the Thai Chicken pizza with carmelized onions, gouda cheese, and Thai spiced pulled chicken was definitely the prize. I convinced my other "almost-vegetarian" friend that we needed to share the Green Chile Cheeseburger Pizza. Being in New Mexico, one must smother green chile over EVERYTHING. It was pretty good, but the Thai Chicken is and will be my all time favorite. Nice to be back ABQ. read more

I love this place and have been a regular customer for years, but there are some definite things that need improvement. The Sorento pasta is absolutely to die for . . . when it's good. Other days, the sauce is too thick and has a completely different (not great) taste. The shrimp dishes are also to die for, but the shrimp is so "fishy" it is impossible to take home and reheat without stinking up the entire fridge. I will continue to come back, but definitely not a perfect five stars! read more

Although we usually take-out, I've never had bad service here. If our order is messed up (doesn't happen often), they always make it right. And, of course, the food is excellent. read more

Pizza Bummer I've been to Scarpas many times for salad and on occasion we splurge for their amazing dessert. Last visit, though, we decided to have pizza. We were very disappointed. We ordered the wild mushroom pizza which was supposed to have mushrooms ("for the mushroom lover"), creamy fontina and truffle oil. The mushrooms were sparse and tiny and rubbery. Most bites were with no mushrooms. If mushrooms are essentially the only topping they should be plentiful! The pizza was missing the rich aromatic truffle aroma and flavor. There was hardly any cheese and it was certainly not creamy. I like a thin crispy crust which this had but because the mushrooms and cheese were so skimpy the overall pizza was very dry and dissatisfying. I would not order pizza again. read more
