Mustafa Dry Cleaning - From outside in the concourse during the morning, December 2016

Mustafa Dry Cleaners, sewing and alterations is a great shop, super fast with very good prices…read more It is located in the concourse area of TTC's Islington Subway Station, one level down from the street level, near the stairs leading to the buses. Not only does the owner do dry cleaning at a reasonable rate. He did some pants alterations for me. Turning a pair of long pants into a pair of shorts I needed for work, a perfect fit. He also repaired a blanket that needed extensive stitching, a perfect job. He offered to have the repair and alteration done the same day, but I said it was OK and picked it up the next day. Thank you.

I tried this place after getting tired of paying what felt like excessively priced dry cleaning fees from the place upstairs in Bloor Islington Place. A few cleanings and hems later and I have been happy with the results. Shirts are $5 to clean. I forget exactly how much for a full suit but I know its over $5 cheaper than upstairs, so lets call it $15 at most. $6 hems, which if you drop off in the morning will be ready that afternoon for pickup. The only way you can get into this area is if you're coming off the MiWay buses or pay the TTC fare, so that may be a discouraging reason for some to use these guys... But as a metropass carrying individual, it's actually pretty convenient to grab my stuff before jumping on the subway to head home for the day.

What: redo hemming stitch on dress pants Result: bad…read morestitching and wrong type then should be used on pants Took my dress pants to have stitching on one pant leg redone. $8, first time i came in the sowing job was no better then if i did it by hand in 10min (instead of the proper machine stitch) and 1 place already had the stitching coming apart. Owner tried to offer to stitch up by hand but i requested she send it back. Came in 1 week later, told it was done by machine but the same wrong stitching that does not hold up to wear of pants

Do NOT bring your clothing here, unless you want it absolutely ruined…read more I brought my Talula coat (from Aritzia) to this location to be dry cleaned due to a small spill on it. I hand washed the coat before bringing it in - so just needed it dry cleaned for that crisp finish. When I went to pick it up a few days later, the woman handed me the jacket as I paid, and pretended like nothing was wrong. I looked at the coat to ensure it was pressed nicely, and noticed several large oil stains throughout. The coat had never come in contact with oil or any similar substance prior to bringing it to this location. The receipt was given back to them at time of payment, and once re-printed, they had added notes of major OIL stains being on the jacket originally. Why would they have accepted a coat that was essentially covered in oil? They ruined this jacket completely, and when I questioned the condition of the coat, the woman was pretending that she did not speak english. I went back the next day, and a blonde woman continued to fight with me... They would not refund the $25.99 for the "dry clean" job. Unreal experience. Zero customer service skills.

0/5 stars. This place honestly needs to be shut down…read more After a trip to the Caribbean, I brought in my fairly new jacket for dry cleaning. I've only had it a little over a year, and it was in excellent condition, no stains, no holes, nothing. When I brought it in, the woman working there insisted on charging me an extra $16 to "repair" the zipper because there were a few loose threads. She said it needed to be fixed before cleaning to prevent damage. It was literally just a loose thread, but I paid it anyway. I dropped my jacket off on Monday, and the pickup date they gave me was Thursday at 5 PM. I went to collect it, and suddenly my coat wasn't there. She told me to come back the next day. I said okay and called the following day to confirm it was ready before coming in. That's when I was told some nonsense story that my jacket had a stain and needed to be re-cleaned. My jacket had no stain when I brought it in, so what are you talking about? Then she told me to come back Monday. I told her that was impossible because it was -6°C, snowing and raining heavily, and this is my winter coat. I needed it by the next day at the latest. After that, I was given yet another story, this time that the delivery driver couldn't deliver because of the rain. None of this made any sense. I then asked for the store manager's number, and she refused to give it to me. Instead, she tried offering 50% off my next service but there will absolutely NOT be a next time. This morning (Saturday) she finally called to say my coat was ready. When I went to pick it up, I saw that the hardware on my all-black jacket is now completely scratched, to the point that it looks silver instead of black. When I pointed this out, she had the nerve to tell me I brought the jacket in like that and that there was nothing she could do about it. So after keeping my coat two extra days, giving me multiple false explanations, refusing to give me the manager's contact, and damaging my jacket, they still refused to take any responsibility. Terrible service from beginning to end. Zero accountability. And to the business responding to other reviews claiming customers are "scamming" you, trust and believe I have all the time in the world. People deserve to know exactly how this business operates. Don't bother trying to delete this review either, because I will just post another one. PLEASE NOTE: the first two photos were taken 2 WEEKS before I took it to LONG BRANCH CLEANERS, the last 3 photos are how I received it.
