I reluctantly decided to give this place another try after a very expensive first visit; mainly because I had a special shirt that I bought on my honeymoon that had lost a button. So I brought the shirt in to be tended to, as part of a larger order. When I got my order back, not only was I shocked by the almost $400 price (twice what I've paid at other cleaners for similar sized orders), but my honeymoon shirt was missing. After inquiring about my missing shirt, the owner called me back and basically implied that I was lying. He told me that he had 15 cameras on premise and was certain that all of the items I dropped off were returned. Great customer service. If you want to pay twice what other cleaners charge, only to have your items go missing, then this is your place. Otherwise, save yourself the time and headache and go elsewhere. read more

BEWARE. Shrunk a brand new Parka. Verbally abusive owner and manager. I brought a brand new North Face Parka in for cleaning, and it was shrunk and had strange marks on it. The outer shell is 59% cotton and they use a "wet" rather than "dry" process, so I assume that's how it happened. The employee and Manager, Sam, acknowledged the outer shell did shrink and they would take it back and "stretch it out." They indicated they would get the measurements from North Face in order to stretch it to the correct size it. When I asked them to clarify the process for "stretching" I was met with hostility and aggression. I was told repeatedly that I know nothing, and that they are "the professionals" and I need to be "patient" and let them try and stretch it back out. If it didn't stretch back to the size it can in as, we would take it from there. When I insisted on more information on the stretching process and asked for a timeline for getting the coat back, because it's my Winter Coat and it is cold out, the manager then deferred me to the Owner, Alex. When I spoke to Alex today , he said the Coat was not yet measured and was at another location, but that the Manager and employee were wrong - it had not shrunk. I asked if he had seen or measured the coat. He said "no", as he was too busy opening another location. I said that I felt it was unacceptable that he claim that without seeing or measuring it first, and in opposition to what his employees said. He scoffed and said not to trust them, they just do "Customer Service." He, like Sam, then berated for knowing nothing, and stressed that he is "the professional." I asked if we could meet in person to look at and measure it together, and agreed to bring the coat and meet me this Saturday at the Beaches location. My husband called him back this afternoon for an exact time for the meeting. Because he was so aggressive with me, I thought he might not take the same stance with a man, but he didn't answer. We next both called back the Manager, Sam, and he said Alex told him he measured it and it was "fine." When I said I recorded (wrote down) what Alex said, and that wasn't true, he replied - without letting me finish my sentence - and yelled at me for "illegally recording" the phone call, told us to never call him again, or come back to the store. Both of them were verbally abusive on the phone to myself and my husband. We have not once asked for a refund or for any sort of compensation for the Parka. They still have my North Face Parka, and I paid to have it cleaned. Once I (hopefully) get the garment back, and I will then ask for a refund, I will post pictures here to show the shrinkage. I wouldn't recommend this establishment, they are anything but professional. read more

Once it was dry cleaned, it looked like new and hubby decided it has at a least a few more years in it. They have successfully cleaned numerous items for us from the most delicate to Ugg suede boots. I needed a suit dry cleaned after not wearing it for almost three and a half years. I desperately needed it for a Saturday evening function. I brought it into the Alex's on Queen St E in the Beaches on a Tuesday and, when asked when I needed it for, I told them for Saturday morning. The attendant was unsure if they could do it, as the next Monday would be the usual done date. She said they would try and I decided to "risk it". I received the message saying it was ready Friday evening and picked it up Saturday morning. The up saved my bacon. Will definitely go back. read more

***STAY AWAY FROM THIS 'BUSINESS'*** I brought in curtains to be dry cleaned on a Monday and I was to receive an estimate by Tuesday. I heard nothing. On Wednesday I called and was told I would receive a call shortly. Nothing. I called again on Thursday and was told I'd receive a call from 'Alex' with my estimate. NOTHING. By Friday I was extremely angry having not been called with an estimate. When I called on Friday, I was told that I would receive a call within an hour. There was no call for more than two hours. Finally, after countless unanswered calls to the shop, I received a call from 'Sam' who gave me my estimate and told me the curtains would be ready on Tuesday. I said, I'm picking the curtains up on Saturday. Ten minutes later 'Sam' called back to say the curtains would be ready at 1pm Saturday. I picked up my curtains around 2pm Saturday, and another SHOCK. I was given my curtains, (which had been dropped off neatly folded), crumpled up in a ball within a plastic bag. NOT DRY CLEANED. What an insulting and totally shocking experience. These people do not communicate and have no respect for personal property. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS. read more

In month of March 2017, I took my designer cocktail dress to Alex Fine Cleaners. I was told it will be ready 4 days after, confirmed with the owner over the phone. I came to pick it up, but I was told that since the dress needs special attention, I should wait longer. I waited patiently and checked once a week whether my dress arrived to the store. Every time I was told they will call me when it is ready. After 3 (three) MONTHS I thought my dress was lost and asked to be reimbursed. The day after I got a call that dress is ready. I went to the store where the Clerk told me it is free of charge because of the delay. As soon as I got home, the same Clerk called and told me that it is NOT free of charge. The day afterI went to the store and payed. Another Clerk yelled me INCESSANTLY why did I think that can be free! I never even suggested that, but she couldn't stop yelling at me. I went home crying but comforted myself that I don't ever have to go there again! DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND AVOID THIS HORRIBLE PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! read more

STAY AWAY!!!! I brought in some shirts to clean. Two of them were cleaned fine, but the third one came back with a new stain/burn/blemish. Initially they apologized and tried to re-clean it. They weren't able to get it out. Sometimes things happen and items get damaged, I understand that. HOWEVER, their response was TERRIBLE - they disavowed responsibility (which is ridiculous when you look at the stain's location) and told me that they don't want my business anymore! Now I have to decide if it's worth taking them to small claims court over a single shirt! I would advise everyone to do themselves a favour and simply stay away. read more

I won't be stopped on the street anymore with complements on my gorgeous Cinzia Rocca wool camel coat worth $1200.00( only 4 years old). Alex Fine Cleaners ruined it by over pressing and wrecking the entire appearance of the nap so now it looks like cheap fleece.
