First I saw Skylae for a cut and highlights (3 hour appt) and was very happy with her work. When I needed highlight touch ups, I went to book Skylae again but she's no longer working at Scarlet Salon because she moved. I read through the other stylists bios on their site and chose Samantha. She was running late, and texted me to come 15 minutes later than my appt started, which was thoughtful. When I arrived I had to wait 15 minutes so total she ended up being 30 minutes late which meant I had to push back a Zoom meeting to accommodate the 30 minute change. It worked out - no problem. I showed her multiple photos of what I wanted including how my hair looked after Skylae did it. I scrolled through Samantha's Instagram with her saying, "not like this," and "I like this," so I thought we were on the same page. She's super nice and experienced but unfortunately I'm very unhappy with how my hair turned out. It was dark in the salon by the time I left and it was late and a rainy night so I just rushed home for my Zoom mtg. The minute I arrived home my family said, "oh wow you went for a real hair change" and I looked in my bathroom mirror to discover that instead of some highlights the overall color of my hair had changed, because she did so many highlights. It was like going blond from brunette. Reader: I cried. According to Scarlet Salon's website, they have a service re-do policy that states: We strive to offer our guests the highest level of guest satisfaction. If you are having challenges with your cut or color, let us know within 7 days of your visit and we are happy to correct the issue with no additional charge." So I texted them later that night of my cut (texting is the only way to reach them) explaining the situation. I heard back the next day that they wanted photos of what I wanted and photos of how it turned out, and that Samantha could fix it. I sent those. I said I'd rather not go back to her because I showed her many photos of what I wanted. If she didn't understand the first time, I was worried it would be the same thing the second time, with a lot of awkwardness. They said clients almost always go back to the original stylist but they could look into "if someone else is willing to take on an adjustment of someone else's work." Again I said I preferred not to go back to Samantha. After this slow back and forth wherein I realized this wasn't heading towards a real solution for me, I booked an appointment elsewhere to get my color fixed and my self confidence back up. Now I'll be paying twice which sucks. I'm really disappointed in how my hair looks and in the slow, unhelpful response of the salon. read more

He was so kind and I felt like he really listened to how I was describing my hair and my anxiety around bang trims having had bad experiences in the past. We had a great conversation throughout the appointment and I left with stunninggggg hair!! He understood the vision and brought it to life. I cannot emphasize how amazing Maggie Lou was at Scarlet Salon. I genuinely never felt more beautiful in my life. We had such a good time and she was so pleasant to be around. She also went above and beyond to help me figure out some other aspects of my look for my wedding. The less stress, the better, and in the hair department, I felt very held and supported all the way through. She was also very respectful. As an LGBTQIA+ Bride, I had a lot of hesitation and vigilance around who to trust and who I would feel safe with. The salon is so beautifully decorated and spacious, and felt amazing and relaxing to spend time in. I had been wanting to a complete hair overhaul for quite some time to feel like me again. For many years I had colorful hair with chippy cuts, but a combo of depression and having really no idea where to go for vivid coloring prevented me. When Brittany told me she co-owned a salon, I had to look into it. She has such great energy, friendly and relatable. Then I met the other owner Universe, fun, down to earth. They have a really awesome business model that you book and pay by the hour and the hourly rate it based off the experience of the stylist you book with. I strongly recommend reading about each one and checking out their portfolios on Instagram to find the right stylist for you. I looked through them all and chose Hethur for her creative color and edgy cuts. I loved my time with her and am obsessed with my hair. I spent four hours with her so not only is the end result important to me, but also being comfortable with the stylist. Hethur hit both marks. She made me feel at ease, she's experienced and talented, and she's relatable and chill. I came in with a vague description of what I wanted and she brought it to life. I love it so much, I can look at my reflection think, "There she is, she's back!" I will definitely be back, Scarlet Salon has locked me in as a regular! Thank you Hethur, Universe, and Brittany. I have wavy hair and needed a curly cut since regular/wet cuts don't do good for my hair. I received a curly/dry cut. My hair was brushed dry (1st sign of not knowing curly/wavy hair) and not properly cut. My dead ends are awful and my hair is super flat. I was speechless, I thought I was in good hands. I needed a fresh new look via cut and color. I had been to the Scarlet Salon once before but this time I was referred to Ryan by Universe the owner and I want to give you a big shout out because I am so very happy to say the least. Up until seeing Ryan it took me at least 5 hrs for others to get my hair to lighten to the color which are icy platinums, and there was always a piece that just quite did not match the rest of the color, saying it is the pigments in my hair that just will not lighten completely or leaving hints of yellows orange. To my amazement Ryan was finished with the color and cut in 3.5 hrs a record and then he was able to get the color exactly how I wanted it did not have to apply check reapply check dry but FIRST TIME he got it I am ELATED as I have found my person one stop color and cut and he was confident that he could get it the exact color I asked for.. he also cut to perfection long layers..since my colorist moved to Vegas I've been searching for that one who could do my hair just as I want it like she did well I found it in RYAN very low bow, see you on the next touch up refresh. I hate salons. The long hours, the nonstop talking, the pop music that's usually played... That's why I push off dying my hair until it's become depressing looking at it in the mirror. I heard about Scarlet Salon from a friend and made an appointment to dye my hair. The salon is gorgeous, the atmosphere is friendly and pleasant, the dying went so fast! Brittany was wonderful. I loved the music. The Beatles, some rock, totally cool. The price was totally reasonable. None of the "I ran out of dye, I'm adding some and it won't cost you much, just $20 extra". I don't normally post reviews but our experience with Universe and the salon has just been lovely all the way around. My daughter has been looking for someone who can work with her red, curly hair in a way that respects and enhances its natural beauty and can also kick it up a notch for special occasions. I first came across Scarlet Salon after a horrible experience at another salon. (I asked for something specific and the hairdresser hacked my hair and burned my ear and head.) I was really anxious about finding a salon while in the process of growing the damage out of my hair and transitioning from fake blonde to natural dirty blonde. I saw Eden for a 2 hour appt and she exceeded what i could have ever expected! First of all she was super sweet and didn't make me feel bad abt the damage. She actually listened to me when I said that i want to cut some damage but am scared of loosing length and was even willing to cut a little bit at a time. Next, up was the coloring, i expressed that i didnt know what we could do but my end goal is growing out my natural color. She reccomended doing a glaze and this is probably the first time ive ever had someone be able to correctly match my natural color! We ended up having time so we did a treatment as well. I had come to this salon in desperate need of help with my hair. My ends were broken off and I had never felt more insecure about my hair before. I had stumbled across Emily Winding's hair page on Instagram (@emwindinghair) and was excited to see that she was accepting new clients at Scarlet Salon. Immediately after contacting Emily, she was eager and receptive to answer all of my questions regarding the health of my hair. We decided, for my own confidence, to get some extensions for fullness & length and I am SO glad that we did! I love them! Emily also did a wonderful job with my highlights.
