Pretty bummed about my incident.. the stars don't reflect their quality of products- as you'll soon see that I never even received anything, but just reflects the poor management of my order. I had called the day prior, to print out about a 12inx12in head poster on 110lb card-stock for a friends graduation. I submitted the photo/order online to be picked up the next day (spoke to a representative, assured me it would be ready by then- no problem). I went in today at the time we agreed on, and walked in to leave with nothing. Turns out- they had not even STARTED on my order. I came in only for them to tell me that hey, your photo wasn't high quality enough, so we couldn't print it out for you. I understand the situation, however I'm so upset that I had not gotten a heads up about it the day I uploaded the photo, or even hours before I came in. That in my opinion is so unprofessional, to know the approximate time that I will be coming in to PICK UP my order, however for me to come in and leave empty handed? Without letting me know anything at all.. it was a waste of my time and gas unfortunately. Had I known about this earlier, it either would've saved me the trip or saved me from walking out upset and without a surprise for my friends graduation. 2 stars for all the kind people that worked there and tried to assist me. -3 stars for the lack of communication and making me waste my time. read more

Need something printed and mounted? Come to A/E Scantech!! When I was completing my thesis for Interior Design, I had four huge (3'x5') boards that needed to be printed and mounted. Kinkos had ripped me off numerous times before, so I didn't even consider them. After a bit of research, a classmate recommended that I check out this place. After getting a few estimates from other shops, A/E Scantech offered the most reasonable prices and turnaround time. While my classmates were stressed out about the deadline, I felt confident since I knew that I would be taken care of. My boards turned out flawlessly, and they are still in contact 2.5 years later!! More recently, I had a 22"x72" poster that needed to be framed for a Christmas present. After calling around, a custom frame for that size was just out of my budget.. not to mention the additional charge for a holiday rush order. I knew that the next best thing would be to get it professionally mounted. I had narrowed it down to a couple of shops, but A/E Scantech was the only place where I could get it mounted with a border around it. Another place said they would have had to cut the actual poster and couldn't guarantee a clean border. After bringing the poster in, it was ready for pick up the very next day! They even wrapped it up and stuck some extra foam core on the corners so it wouldn't get damaged enroute. I have used Scantech at least 6 times now and felt their great service warranted sharing with other. They are extremely friendly, offer good suggestions and triple check their work. I have used them for a variety of business cards and envelopes etc. The quality is great the card stock is very thick. Scantech was great. We printed a large collage (20" x 40") with them of old family photos. We actually caught a mistake on the first print (our mistake, not theirs) - this particular collage took forever to put together because the photos were difficult to find and scan so we really wanted to make sure it turned out right. These guys are the best! I recently moved to San Diego to open up west coast operations for a software company and I was looking to brand our new office space with our logo's and company name. I found Scantech Graphics on Yelp and I'm really glad I did. They came to my office to take some measurements and give me some ideas which was great since I had an idea of what I wanted, but I really wasn't sure. Not only were their ideas great, but a few days later, they sent me some mockups using some photo's they took of the office space. We agreed on a frosted glass acrylic for the company name, some window decals and then a small sign for outside the door and a) the signage came out just like the mockups b) they came and installed everything c) they were ahead of schedule d) when they weren't happy with the coloring of the decals, they came and replaced them themselves with brand new ones. These guys are a class act and I would definitely recommend them and will certainly use them again when the need arises. read more

We had almost 100 scientific posters and over 500 booklets printed by Scantech and everything was perfect! Kris Williams at Scantech was incredible to work with. For the poster session setup, Kris came to our site to help us map out the best location for our poster board displays. As a freelance graphic designer, I have worked with many printing companies. In my 12 years experience, Scantech is one of the most competent of them all. Recently, I worked with a new company that needed graphics from the ground up including banners, signs, brochures, flyers, menu boards, and even a giant wall mural. In each case, Scantech was used, and in each case they delivered amazing work. They might not be the cheapest, but what they have that many other companies don't have is the personal service. Chris, the Color Department Supervisor, is one of the nicest and most responsive of any print production facility employee I've been in contact with. They (Scantech & Chris) provided quick quotes, quick responses to questions, (even though they were often just minor inquiries) and even provided templates to help guide the process. The color and sharpness on the large banners and murals were impeccable, and the consistency of the color throughout the campaign was spot-on. Downsides: the place is a bit hidden, just off Balboa in Kearney Mesa, but worth finding. These guys are great for large-format printing with a quick turn-around. read more
