I initially sent a text asking about their services and was asked to give the owner a call. He was very knowledgeable, easy to work with, and clearly concerned about getting the best possible quality from my old films. We arranged a time for me to drop off six Super 8 reels, and I was amazed when I received a text about a day later saying they were finished. What impressed me most was that he didn't simply transfer the film. He also corrected the playback speed and reduced some of the jitter that is common with old 8mm home movies. The final result exceeded my expectations. The converted movies were returned on a USB drive for an additional $10. Pricing was very reasonable, turnaround time was excellent, and I was especially glad to find a local service rather than shipping irreplaceable family memories somewhere and hoping for the best. I would absolutely recommend Midwest Digital Conversions for anyone looking to preserve old film, VHS, or Hi8 recordings.
