Our friend group loves coming here! We've been here twice to celebrate New Year's Eve as well as on other random occasions and we always have a great time. This year the NYE celebration was significantly more organized and well staffed than the previous year. The prices are affordable for a night out and the options of mini golf, laser tag, and arcade games are fun for anyone of any age! Super fun mini golf. My 3 year old is obsessed and we go almost weekly. Always friendly and clean.

Decided to try out the laser tag and putt putt. We did putt putt first. Not the best but I do believe it's the first time I've ever played in black light. At least that I can remember. I admit the decor was pretty cool but definitely needs some TLC. A few holes had the carpet loose around the hole which prevented the ball from dropping. Despite this, 4 adults and 4 kids still found it satisfactory enough. Then on to laser tag. Overall nothing new compared to others we've played but plenty of places to scurry around and hide. We played three or four rounds, can't remember exactly. Definitely get the three hour pass if you're gonna play two or more times. We only played about two of the three hours cause we were tired No clue on the food so I'm not gonna guess on that. I will say, it was evident that it's an older building. The bathrooms either weren't cleaned very well or just stained that bad over the years. A lot of area needs some cleaning or painting. Amazing what a new coat of paint could do ti a place. After hearing about this place on The Andy Show for so many years now, we have decided to add an extra stop to our vacation to experience it for ourselves. We are going to rent a car, and leave Fort Meade Maryland and drive the 8hrs 31mins to Scallywag Tag! It was a blistering hot weekend with the heat index above 100 degrees, so we decided that indoor mini-golf was a good idea. We went to check out this pirate-themed entertainment center. It's been many years since I've played mini-golf - but I actually didn't do too bad. Besides the mini-golf and laser tag, there are some arcade games that you can play. It was fairly quiet when we were there, but we did end up kind of stuck between two groups in the mini-golf area. read more

If i could give this place 0 stars, I would. Me and my friends were expecting a fun day here and we got there and it was fun but then it all went down hill. For one, the workers were BEYOND rude. The pizza was absolutely DISGUSTING!!! It was freezing cold and i'm pretty sure there was a few small termites in my pizza!!!!!! The bathrooms smell absolutely horrible like fish out of the ocean. This place is a death trap. While me and my friend were in the smelly bathroom... one of the works barged in and kicked down my friends stall!!! This place is terrible!!! I will never be going anywhere near this place again and for anyone thinking about going here i would highly discourage you to find somewhere else to go. read more

This place is great, their laser tag is pretty fun and PIRATE THEMED. The mini golf is shorter but is themed well and fun. The arcade is on the small side too, but the ticket counter isn't a complete rip off like most arcades! I would recommend, especially for the unique laser tag! read more

I have been here twice and had vastly different experience each time. Neither was terrible, but a greater attention to detail could really make this place awesome. If you are heading there for a birthday party on the weekend you will either arrive early (good) or late (not so good). The second visit, we went with a group of adult friends for a laser tag day and we got there very close to opening. It was terrific. We basically had the run of the place. We played a game of laser tag all by ourselves and got some adult beverages to enjoy afterwards. (The snack bar has beer and wine coolers for a remarkably low price, as well as delicious bar/bowling type foodstuffs-nachos, pizza, pretzel with cheese in the awesome price range of 1-5 dollars). We discussed how this place would be a great alternative to the overpriced bar scene of OTR. That being said, once it gets later in the day, this place can become an absolute madhouse. Children ascend with wild abandon and their parents go sit at a table rather than chaperone. We had a wonderful laser tag experience with a group of young ones, but then we attempted a golf game and without any attendants in the actual mini golf area, it was madness and frankly disappointing. The laser tag has timed tickets, but the mini golf is a play when you want situation. I liken it to savages who don't know bowling etiquette. When we went, we had a groupon for 2 for 25.00, basically 50% off. That was the appropriate price. I would have been disappointed had we both paid to play a couple games of laser tag and dodge-em in the golf room. The arcade area is jam packed with games, but most of them weren't turned on when we first got there, so it was a missed opportunity to engage us in other ways. All in all, the vibe is similar to a Chuckee Cheese with a laser tag instead of a "show room" and mini golf instead of a ball pit. But the mini golf did have that familiar smell of urine and children, so it was like the ball pit. read more

The whole place feels sticky. The bathroom smells absolutely terrible and looks visibly dirty. Staff is clearly way too young to be mature and they run around like children. Not to mention that they got our whole food order wrong and one of them barged into the bathroom and kicked down my friends stall. (Super invasive and handled extremely poorly). My family and I always have a good time when we go to scallywag. They have good deals on game packages. Many times if we pay $15-20 a kid they can get unlimited laser tag on particular days.... Well worth it. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 out of 5 stars is that the place is kind of run down looking. We chose to have our kids' birthday parties at a nicer place.... the prices at the nicer place were the same price if not cheaper than scallywag. THe other place (LAZER WEB) has a much bigger selection of games. However, if you're looking for something to do with the kids, this is a cool place to go. read more

Great place for a kids' birthday party! In addition to the laser tag, there is indoor putt-putt, one inflatable, and several video games. There was also Pirates of the Caribbean playing in the party room for mom & dad to watch while the kids played. My son really enjoyed it. My only criticism is the drink options. What's not to love about playing laser tag? Especially in a pirate themed arena complete with pirate ship, skeletons, and tons of places to hide out. Some folks (mainly 18-25 dudes) really take the game serious and are in it to win it, but there is also enough of us non-serious laser tag players and kids there to have a great time and still get in some good shots for your 20 minutes or so of playing time. After we did the laser tag a couple of times, we sort of walked around aimlessly looking for more to do, but couldn't find much more than some concession stands and a few video games, so we left. Although for the hour or so that it killed, it was still a fun time to be had. This seems like the perfect spot to have a young boy's birthday party and I think I saw a few party room just for that purpose. Next time we are looking to entertain the kids for a bit, Scallywag's will be on our list! read more

They allowed children to participate in the mini golf area without parental supervision, which surprise surprise, they were acting a fool; throwing/kicking balls all over,running around screaming,standing in the middle of the golf course amidst my family and I's game. Also had to give back two pops that were outdated and flat.The third and final pop that was given to me was outdated as well.I'm guessing all of their sodas were old. I took my son here on a Sunday afternoon for mini golf and the arcade. Almost half of the arcade games were broken. I only saw one staff member the entire time we were there. Since there was only one, the place was somewhat a free for all. It wasn't her fault though. She was friendly and working hard. We had a good time playing mini golf. The course was obviously missing some props but it was still fun! The black light effects were cool. If you do make the trip, I suggest staying away from the arcade. During our visit, the few games that were operational were overpriced and half of the prizes were out of stock, giving him not much to choose from. read more

Took the grandkids. Purchased the 3 hour pass at $20 ea. Turns out that they have to stand in line for each event. Meaning if they get crowded their play time will be reduced. Awesome facility, poor management and lack of communication skills... Which makes for LOTS of upset children. During our field trip, my group of kids got split up incorrectly (after we were told more kids could be part of one game and then it changed and my group basically got kicked out even though they were the first ones in.) Our rotation got all messed up after that. My kids kept trying to eat their lunch but our lunch got stopped on 3 separate times. Literally took all day to eat our lunches. Someone threw one of my kids' lunches away... It was just a mess. It may be smaller but I definitely prefer the Eastside Scallywag Tag. read more

My daughter went for her soccer teams party. She got a life lesson on how not to run a business. She won 25 tickets on a redempton game, went to the the prize table and the girl said they had to be loaded on card from ticket counter. She loaded 25 tickets on the card and brought it to the prize counter. Once the girl scanned the card it only showed 10 tickets. I explained to the girl what I had just witnessed and her attitude was "Oh well, what do you want me to do, I just work her." I think she had a good time playing tag, but just pre prep your kids for getting ripped off at the redemption machines you should be fine. read more

If you care about the safety & security of your kids, you'll want to go somewhere else. We took our 10 y.o. son and 7 y.o. daughter to Scallywag Tag for a birthday party recently. During the laser tag game, some overly competitive older kids and/or young adults were physically assaulting and restraining the elementary aged kids. One of them pinned my 7y.o. daughter's gun to her chest and pushed her up against a wall, held her in that position, and just kept shooting her to rack up points. These people would also place their hands over the muzzles of the other kids' laser guns so they couldn't shoot. There was only one employee in the arena, which obviously is not enough. I called and left a message, asking someone to call me about this HUGE safety concern, but no one ever did. You can not trust Scallywag Tag to keep your kids safe. read more

This was an awful experience. We went to check out the facilities to see if my daughter wanted to have her birthday party there. The black haired girl at the front desk pointed to the party area and the bounce area which was deflated. We decided to play laser tag. We paid $28 . S he told us to go wait in a room. We kept waiting and no one showed up. My husband was getting irritated. He looked out at the front desk and saw a guy and the black haired girl talking. My husband said he was not going to wait in that claustrophobic room anymore. The same guy we saw talking, finally came over and started telling us the rules. He never smiled and bordered on rude. The game was fun. We let the girls play some arcade games First the card never printed out. The black haired girl was eating in the back when I asked for help. Then there were only about 7 games in the entire place that worked. It kept taking our credits but the games Never worked. Every time I went to the front desk, the employees seemed irritated. There were no apologies from anyone. No one cared that we were there and that nothing seemed to work. I asked for the remaining money back from our card and the male employee refused, even though nothing worked. My girls were so frustrated they wanted to leave. We went with 14 people on a slightly crowded Saturday night with the intentions to play around 3-4 games. However the employee who was working the register printed too many tickets and as a result many of us could not play the first game. Of the 9 that could play, only 4 vests worked. The next game we could not get in because it was too crowded which is understandable. But we all had tickets for that game. The next game we all head in and they kick all of us out because we had the incorrect tickets. By this time the we were one hour into the night and barely played one game. While we were getting new tickets the manager accused us of "lying" to them because we had the incorrect tickets even though we payed for unlimited games. When we asked for our money back they denied because we technically played one game. Under the description for the "$15 game pass" it reads "unlimited games with 3 GUARANTEED". The staff was extremely unpleasant and plain rude to my friends and I. I have never wrote a review on Yelp before so I hope this expressed how angry and disappointed I am. Ended up being a wasted 15$ and Saturday night. I hope this helps. read more
