In an effort to enjoy the beautiful weather, a friend and I decided that we had not done miniature golf in ages and needed to find somewhere to get our fix. We found this hidden Putt Putt place in Erlanger. There are two courses to choose from, with one game costing $6.50 per person. This is definitely a no-frills course (so much that I missed the frills a little bit). There are signs posted throughout the course to make sure that you're keeping some distance between you and the people in front of you. There was a group of four in front of us and we did our best to give them their space. The people behind us? Not so much. Their kids were attempting to play the holes that we were on before we even finished. They said nothing. A couple of times, we had to politely say "Excuse us, we're still playing on this one." We felt so rushed that it made it VERY difficult to enjoy (especially when we were at the mercy of the group in front of us). $6.50 is definitely a low cost for entertainment, but I cannot say that I would pay any more. If you're on a budget though, I can imagine that it's not a bad deal for families.

No-frills putt putt at its finest. Located in the Erlanger shopping center directly across from Kroger and Colonial Cottage, Putt Putt Golf is a cheap, simple way to entertain yourself and friends. The generic sign for Putt Putt peaks out behind the corner of the massive shopping center. Head all the way to the back and up the trail. It's a little piece of paradise in strip mall central. Putt Putt looks like it hasn't been touched since the 1970s, and is perfect that way. There are two 18-hole courses to play, each with homemade obstacles. If you make a hole in one, you get a discount coupon for your next visit. If you make a hole in one on the last hole, you win a free game. All this for just $5.00 per game, or $7.00 to play both courses. What a steal! Six of my friends and I putted our way through the course in about 90 minutes. We'll be back, as we all acquired hole-in-one discount coupons.

It's cute and somewhat hidden. Honestly felt like I was in 1987 while I was there. Don't expect a fancy new course but it's nostalgic vibe was refreshing and my friends and I had a blast. Plus there is a lot of food within walking distance.

Fun little golf course, and a really great price. We played 2 games for $8 each, and will definitely be returning.

We were there in early April, so all the gorgeous spring flowers (daffodils, tulips, hyacinth) were in full bloom. The parking lot is close to the entrance and I like that there is shade for your car. (note it is $10 to park). You enter the zoo by going up an elevator or escalator. It is the same as the Pittsburgh Zoo entrance. One thing to note is that the zoo is hilly. No matter what direction you go, you will have some up and down hills. It is easy to navigate, though. The day we visited, we were very fortunate that almost every animal was out and active! The giraffes were wandering in their yard, the lion was chatty and playful, the zebras were enjoying their enrichment, the hippos were swimming and playing. I don't know that I've ever been to a zoo where so many animals were all active and visible! The signage was plentiful and easy to navigate and everything was well kept and clean. There were plenty of spaces to sit and relax and most animals had plenty of space to enjoy. A wonderful visit to a beautiful place.

Since then, it has become a yearly tradition and a way for us to spend the day together. We normally attend on Sunday as a way to spend Mother's Day together. We have been to this festival in all kinds of weather - rain, cold, rainy-cold, and HOT. Over the years, Coney Island has grown the festival as well. Last year, there was the addition of the Mother's Day brunch for an extra charge. This year, there were multiple seating times for the brunch as well as carriage rides. I purchased tickets to the brunch buffet as part of my mom's gift. For the $25 option, we got a lovely brunch as well as admission to the festival. The brunch had your typical breakfast options of eggs, biscuits, French toast, pancakes, fruit, muffins, and a table full of tasty desserts. The festival has a living history portion as well as other vendors. There are strolling musicians and storytellers, plus a petting zoo (I think this was an additional fee). We watched some clog dancers and listened to the bluegrass bands on the main stage. We wandered around the vendors and made some purchases. There are vendors that we visit every year to stock up on items. Overall, I enjoy this festival and I look forward to getting to spend that time with my mom each year. It makes for a great Mother's Day.
