Scale Auto Racing is the only 1/32nd scale slot car raceway in the Houston area. Family friendly place with track, car, and controller rentals. Or you can bring your own and rent just track time. Sunday race leagues are packed with close competative racing in many different catagories.

Great family fun, especially fans of racing.

From your typical pancakes and waffles etc. to stuffed chicken with season rice and more. An array of desserts, salads and fruits. Drinks are reasonably priced averaging $9-$12. Service is decent considering size of venue. Regular drinks, sodas and teas were included for the $45 ticket. For some reason the races mostly started away from us which was a little disappointing but overall loved the experience. They also have a special area for kids on Sundays this month only $5 with face painting, play areas, petting zoo and more.

Hidden gem in Houston - what a fun getaway from the city! Spent a couple of hours here on a…read moresurprise date. $7 for admission that I paid online in advance for ($14 for two people). Parking was plentiful since it was a huge lot. The venue itself is quite big - multiple floors and wide in length. There were lots of tables with individual monitors with horse races streaming from different regions of the U.S, along with lots of TVs by the food court area. Plenty of people just watching the different races streamed on the TV happily. Betting takes place on the kiosks spread throughout the building. There's a variety of methods to bet, but easily thing to do is take a picture of the screen and have ChatGPT explain it to you lol since it's a lot of information to digest if you're a first timer. Betting is minimum $2 to start. The nachos were cheap and filling - $10 for a spread shared among two people. Plenty of cheap food available. Now for the actual racing, there was a lot of seating (albeit, they were not labeled). We actually sat in the paid, reserved seating with the TV monitors (which was quite nice, since you could see the camera following the horses racing outside on the track up close), until we were kicked out since we could show the ticket narc our tickets. We relocated to a different seating area next to it, and again after a few rounds, we were ticket-checked again and had to move. Finally, we discovered the free seating, which is at the very end on the left side of the building, with the auditorium-like seats (furthest from the fancy restaurant they have). It wasn't terrible, and we spent most of the time at the paid seating anyways. Would recommend better signage because as newbies to the horse racing venue, we didn't know any better. A lot of friend groups, families, singles, all gathered to watch the horse racing, and TBH, I got pretty into it once I started betting (rabbit hole?), so it was quite fun. There was even a hat contest that was cute to watch! I'd come back! It was a unique way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

The have food, beer/seltzer and waiting area for all racers to be until their name is called. They should definitely have a few more games to keep customers busy, I walked in and one guy was sleep on the bench and nearly missed his turn. The only issue I had is the employee mentioned that the next race for my son would be "in about 15 minutes" so we bought several races on the premise of thinking that we'd have enough time to do them all in one night! Well, she lied! We ended up waiting nearly an hour! I was pretty PO'd. However, you can keep the races you bought until next time you visit. Sucks if you don't live close though. It's only for 1 year.

The staff on hand clearly hates their job and couldn't be bothered to look into a simple problem I encountered. In my 1st race some asshat hit me at almost full speed in the back of their "very expensive" go karts. I brought up the issue when I passed by the flag dude and he didn't seem like he even had a singular fuck to give. He said "just keep racing" which is pretty hilarious because on their wall in bold font it clearly says NO BUMPING. The party that bumped on me faced 0 consequences by staff because as I said prior they have 0 fucks to give. I understand with go karting there is a risk but no one goes karting and says I hope I get to rammed today! If you are going to have rules maybe try enforcing them? Now I have pretty bad neck and back pain. Do better K1 Speed this is the 1st and last time I will ever visit this dumpster locale.

Coming from a riding hiatus (several years) after a very dramatic motorcycling accident, he renewed my confidence and established consistency in my riding capability, which has inspired me to continue. I was not the fastest, but I sure did learn fast. Purposefully, I was not quick. Asking to learn slow, to go smooth, where smooth becomes fast. He respected that. Brian was my advocate from the very beginning, always seeking to understand my goals and helping me reach them. He genuinely wanted to do the best for me, as a true mentor/instructor. Can't emphasize enough his commitment to advocate, he looked out for me as his student, the 1x1 instruction w/ him was perfect. A major credit to the RideSmart Team. Thank you!

In comparison, Ridesmart was a letdown. To say the least, the organization of sessions between every time you go out to the track and head back to the classrooms was not very comfortable. Another thing I noticed that if any of the candidates from level 1 wanted to learn and follow the instructor (follow his tires) on the circuit, they would have to be lucky enough to be picked up from a bunch of raised hands. With the other school I have seen that the every candidate gets to do that one by one for at least 2 laps. As you can tell by now, having too many people enrolled in level 1 is a problem. Furthermore, when you get to the circuit you get around 10-15 mins which means by the time you are on lap 2.5 or 3 the white flag comes up and you need to head back to the classroom. In all, it was a very chaotic experience for me and by the end of the day, I was exhausted and did not feel like I learned anything valuable.
