South of Tomball and just North of Houston and Willowbrook Mall it's got a good location with the nearby 99 which will allow gamers from further out to show up and play!
I've been visiting the store since grand opening and always been greeted by the friendly and fun staff. They're always willing to share their knowledge, thoughts, and enjoyment of gaming and Comics. Robert Prohl, the store owner, has really reached out to the community to give them what they want. The store boasts two 4'x6' wargaming tables, multiple fold up tables that can be rearranged for Board games, Tabletop RPG's, X-Wing Miniatures, Heroclix, Poke'mon, and the always popular Magic the Gathering.
I've seen the stock of board games and comic books flying off the shelves and have stopped by for both Free Comic Book Day and Free RPG day. They've brought out cookies and cupcakes for multiple special events like in-store signings by local authors, comic book artists, writers, cosplay artist, and more have been an interesting and welcome addition to the Geek and Gamer community. Friendly Gaming demos are constantly offered by the staff and local gamers looking to share their enjoyment of the games.
They host events for a variety of games like 'Infinity the Game' by Corvus Belli, Malifaux by Wyrd Miniatures, Warmachine & Hordes by Privateer Press, Warhammer 40K and Age of Sigmar by Games Workshop, and with a small board game library on hand as well as Wednesday night open board gaming you're sure to find someone to play that game you've had your eye on.
There are a ton of opportunities for gaming, geeky, fun at Dragon's Lair that the west side of town has lacked for a long time.
The store has plenty of free parking, access to local restaurants and fast food, as well as two clean unisex bathrooms available for the large crowds of gamers. With separated registers your wait in line won't be long. Penty of gaming space with plenty of seating. They have a small area where you can purchase snacks and drinks.
I have experienced a lot of fun here and can only see great things coming from the store and the staff. read more
