Everything was well organized and the turnout was pretty good. There were two groups, one for juniors and one for (young) adults, for fairness. Another thing I liked was that everyone got 3 extra packs instead of awarding it based on wins, given we're playing with pre-con decks + 4 packs that are all random. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, shout-out to Bryan (the general manager?) and the official judge for the event. Plus I had a great conversation with him and Michael(?) about MTG; they're definitely very passionate about board & card games. They have anti-scalping policies in place for Pokemon. As for the space itself, decent amount of parking (more in the back). They're very popular for Warhammer, so there's a ton of product for those who play, and several tables set-up with many people playing all afternoon next to us (the 'playing hall' is pretty large!). They also have an aisle with board games for sale, and a counter with TCG products. Restrooms are spacious and clean. All in all, The Forge is pretty much all you can ask for in a LGS; they're also independently owned! I wish I live closer, but I'll definitely be here again soon!

Not sure what happened but the two times I've visited in 2026, EVERYTHING, sealed and singles, is 30% or more over market price. This is a huge jump from what they used to price at. Not sure if it's a distributor problem or plain greed, but yikes I would not recommend to anyone that collects Pokémon. I've spent hundreds if not more with them, and I will never be back. Maybe the Pokémon hype caught up to them, maybe they target unaware moms and whale slab traders only now. You would find better pricing at Gamestop at this point, let alone TCGPlayer or local shops.

They assured me over the phone TWICE that they did buy bulk (spoke with AJ, Alecia *sp?, and Matthew) which is why I decided to drive all the way to Cypress from Pearland to drop my collection with them. Now it took about a month to get that collection evaluated because it was a huge collection of boxes and binders honestly took up the entire back of my car. Part of the reason it took so long was I think the person said they were sick and that can't be helped I understand. All that time doesn't really mattered what matters is at the end they just offered to buy like the most valuable cards at a lowball offer for what they wanted. (Which I could have literally taken to any shop and sold) Proceeding to tell me they were not interested in the bulk collection WHICH IS THE ONLY REASON I MADE THE TRIP. . I already knew and not driven what round trip twice was almost 4 hours for me. Also when I got there they had taken everything out of the damn sleeves and just had it in a mess in the office and I had to reassemble it all in the lobby which really frustrated me. That is what really bothered me. I packed all my stuff up and took it to another shop that actually did buy bulk and got a much more reasonable offer. They may be a good shop to hang out at and nice people I have no reason to believe otherwise in that regard it seemed like a nice place when I went both times. TL;DR The shop bs'd me about buying bulk so I drove all the way out to their shop and wasted about 4 hours and it took a month for nothing. But a lowball offer on the rarest cards. Would recommend not trying to sell bulk to these folks cause they wasted my time and are likely wasting yours.

Imagine arriving exactly when you said, and be told "sorry bro we started 10 minutes ago". So I ask for a bye for the first game, and am told "no those are the rules". It's an 8-person local tournament, not the World Team Championship, get over yourselves. Could have just said no up front and save me 90 minutes of driving. If you skip this place, you're not missing a thing.
