I've been meaning to leave a review for this place, I called a month ago asking if they have any of the final fantasy magic the gathering cards, this guy that works they literally just went on and on saying "oh it's going to be a Christmas miracle finding those anywhere your gonna have zero luck finding those we've been trying to get a hold of those but it's impossible so good luck" but the next day I found a store that had them... so definitely don't call for any information I would just save your time for another business that can give you more of a professional response read more

This is going to be a longer post but I wanted to share my experience. Before I do, I understand that this isn't everyones experience, just mine. I went to Cy-Tex gaming for the first time really excited looking for Pokemon and yugioh cards after someone recommended the store to me. I walked in and bought four cards and continued to look around the store with my purchased cards. The employee expressed to me that service would be slow because he was the only one working today. While looking around, the employee went to the other half of the store while I continued to browse. From the back, another older employee came out and hovered around my general area near the front counter. After I finished looking, I moved over to the other half of the store with the cards I had purchased. I put them in my pocket and moved on to join the first employee. When I went to the other half of the store to browse for pokemon cards, the older second employee followed me. I didn't think much of it until he followed me around to every part of the store. I noticed that his eyes were glued on to me everywhere I went. It eventually became clear to me that I was being followed. I continued to browse the store and different aisles as he continued to follow me with his eyes and moved to where he could see me. Eventually, after I finished looking I returned to the front half of the store and waited to purchase a Yugioh EBT box. While I was waiting in line I heard the second older employee tell the first that I had put cards in my pocket. At this point, I got my digital receipt ready to show. Sure enough, when it was my turn to check out he told me that his boss saw me put cards into my pockets and needed to see them to verify that I had purchased my cards. I showed him the four cards I had purchased, and he shouted out to his boss that he could confirm that I purchased all four cards. To conclude, after 15-20 minutes of following me around both halves of the store and through some aisles, rather than ask me if I had purchased the cards he just assumed I was stealing them and had the first employee ask me to show the cards in my pockets to verify that I purchased them and had not stolen them. After verifying that I only had the cards that I bought when I first went up to the register the second older employee laughed it off and tried to awkwardly play it off. Like I said, I know this isn't everyone's experience, just mine. I went into the store so excited for all the cards, pokemon, and yugioh. I never thought that I would be treated to feel as if I was stealing or was a criminal. Despite all this, it is a great store filled with a variety of items and things. I do plan on returning and hope for a different experience. read more

If I could leave them less than a star, I would. The guy that usually works the counter, Karl/Carl, is beyond rude. Absolutely unhelpful, dismissive, and treats customers as an inconvenience. Any time you want to see a binder or stack of singles, it's as if he has to move mountains to provide you any form of service. I've tried to give this shop my business many times over the last year. I rather spend a little more money at Atomic Hobby Shop or Dragon's Lair than be treated the way I'm treated in this shop. Huge potential to make this shop into something great -without Karl/Carl working the counter. The older gentleman, whose name I can't remember at the moment, I believe is the owner. This man knows how to treat people and provide customer service. It's unfortunate that he has Karl/Carl losing him so much business. IF you can get passed the guy working the front desk, they have some of the best prices on cards in town. read more

I had the intention to buy some Pokémon cards and wanted to try out this shop. After getting there I tried to open the door and it was locked but there was no sign saying that it was closed or anything and I saw the employee just sitting at the table so I thought that maybe he was just on lunch. I called the about 20 minutes later and asked if they were open and about the Pokémon selection and already the guy sounded like he didn't want to talk to me over the phone, but I had been assured that the store was open. I went with my girlfriend again and it was finally open and I asked the employee working about the Pokémon and he seemed a little annoyed but took us to the other half. The whole time it was like he was just waiting for us to get out and when we tried ask some questions we had to repeat ourselves multiple times because the employee was wearing earbuds the whole time. I bought a surging sparks etb but I just did not have a great customer experience and thought that the employee was pretty rude and made the store feel unwelcoming. I am confident in saying I will not be coming back to this store. read more

heavy set guy behind the counter was very dismissive and rude as soon as we walked into the store to look for some Pokemon ETBs. Instead of allowing us to look around for the potential things we were going to buy he stated "i don't know how long you are going to take but i have a big sale about to go down in the next room" basically implying that we needed to hurry up our browsing and either buy something or get out. After leaving the room to allow him to take care of the said "big sale" (which was only $30) he continued to stay seated behind the other counter and not let us in the 'pokémon room' to continue our browsing. needless to say, they have lost us as customers, and i'll be giving my money to other hobby shops around town. read more

Great and friendly card/game board shop. Many variety and rapid customer service. Professional and humble throughout. Located within a plaza, never had any problem parking. They do host certain game card nights throughout the week, and I though that it was really neat! Will come back to check in when they receive their next shipment! read more

Ah the dank gaming houses of suburbia. It's not gaming as in gambling, but rather as in card games and board games that are often though of as nerdy or geeky. I use to hang out at these types of establishments quite often when I was in high school. I stopped by this one on a nostalgic whim. About a dozen or so gamers, mostly teenage boys. I have no idea what they were playing, but the guy behind the counter seemed too overwhelmed getting a tournament started to be of much help to me. Meanwhile most of the inventory of the store is behind the counter and difficult to browse through. read more

Don't bother trying to shop here, they don't appreciate your business and you're just wasting their precious time.

Reasons for my rating not necessarily a bad rating. Didn't greet as you walked in establish, seemed distracted not aware of all of the customers. Limited inventory displayed ie Comics books mostly not convenient to browse. Organization of stock not in any kind of system everything is here and there and more everywhere. But you can run into some interesting issues with some diligent effort ..prepare for shoulder cramps. Pricing is somewhat in the middle from other comparisons but fair for my liking. But overall the owner is a fair and seems to be engaged in their specialty as in store cards tournaments Kids seemed to feel safe and enjoyed the atmosphere. Hope this helps if I happen to be in the area again I'll update my review. read more

Been coming here for a while because my friends like to shop here and I like coming to look around. The employees never greet you and seemed kinda annoyed when you try to talk to them and recently they have not been wearing masks which has upset me and made me not want to come here anymore mainly because they have a sign saying you need to have a mask but won't wear one themselves. Makes me feel like it's not clean in there and doesn't make me want to be a regular customer. read more

Most shops I've gone to are very limited on their Pokémon card stock. Most of their cards were not overpriced like some of the shops closer to me. Will definitely visit them again. read more

This is a great place for you to connect if you want to sit down and talk gaming with someone. There are weekly events for various popular games, including yu-go-oh, Magic the gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, super smash brothers, and more. The owner and employees are friendly and more than willing to start up a conversation to help you feel comfortable. This shop is kinda a hidden gem. There prices on singles are 9/10 higher than online but you can price match with tcgplayer.com. The staff could be a little more friendlier to new comers. The place kinda smells like stale air and cigarettes. On the other hand the staff is knowledgable on Yugioh, Pokemon, Magic and Have alot of good singles, decks and boosters!! I wouldve rated 4 of 5 but there hours of business hurts them the most. Most card shops stay open till midnight on weekends they close at 6 on sundays. read more

This is an awesome card shop. Brian, the store owner, is very helpful when you go in looking for cards. He, also, is very open to having conversations which creates a great atmosphere. The selection is overwhelming. There are YuGIOH cards galore. Make sure, if you're a fan, to check out the 10 cent boxes. You can find several gems.
