Move out cleaning job. Jackie, Yani & Janeth did a great job! Will def use them again.read more

I've never had to write a negative review until now, but my recent experience with their move-out…read morecleaning service and my subsequent attempt to address the issue with them were completely unacceptable. I feel compelled to share my experience. Based on my research prior to booking, I understood that professional move-out cleaning should encompass a thorough cleaning of every nook and cranny in your home or apartment. This typically includes sanitizing high-traffic surfaces in the bathrooms and kitchen, cleaning all windows, deep cleaning cabinets, drawers, countertops, and appliances. All with the end goal of smooth move-out inspection and transition. However, the cleaning team missed an entire cabinet, which was left in the same condition as when we vacated (see pic 1). They also neglected to clean the interior windows, the patio door, and even the balcony (see pic 2). These areas are considered accessible per strata bylaws therefore must be cleaned before moving out. We paid a premium for their carpet steam cleaning service, but the results were disappointing. Not only were there dust and dirt left in the corners of the room, but they were also visibly present on the front surface of the carpets (see pic 3). When we messaged them to raise this issue, their response was shockingly dismissive: "place in unlivable condition, 7 garbage bags, no touch-ups." They even attached a photo from their cleaning, apparently thinking it justified their poor job. It's important to note that their services were paid by the hour, not by the amount of garbage bags used throughout the cleaning -- which summed up to an excessive $600 + tips for 3 hours of cleaning. At the very least, they should consider removing the line "No matter the type of building or business, or size of the mess, we can help" from their website because apparently, handling 7 garbage bags for a move-out cleaning is beyond their capabilities. I also need to mention that they've left the garbage bags inside the unit -- and I was the one who at the end had to dispose of them myself. Lastly, all of these were contained in the kitchen area and by no means rendered the place unlivable. I've attached the picture they sent us when they referred to our place as "unlivable" (see pic 4), allowing you to judge for yourself if that's truly the case. Also, this issue has nothing to do with the poor steam carpet cleaning and their overall lack of attention to detail in other parts of the unit. We're absolutely displeased with their horrible communication and apparent lack of concern. In the end, we booked another cleaning company that did a far superior job at a fraction of the price, leaving us satisfied. For these reasons, I cannot, in good conscience, give them more than 1 star. We aren't happy. They've left us with more frustration than cleanliness, and my money would have been better spent elsewhere.

I used Crystal's Cleaning Services (Crystal Morissette) for a move out clean back in July 2022…read more Generally the cleaning was okay but the bathtub was left streaky and unclean. Crystal checked in at the end and completed the bathtub herself, all was fine. Fast forward to December 7 2022. My parents are moving to Coquitlam. I referred Crystal to them and explained to her that the house was empty now that the renovations are complete, so the only things we need cleaned are the floors and the windows. After 2 of her team worked 4.5 hours for a total of 9 hours, I was left with streaky and dirty floors in every single room of the house. Finger prints and dirt on the glass doors and windows, not cleaned at all. Big bag of cleaning garbage and also their lunch garbage left behind for us to deal with. I wish I could post the photos on this review. Not impressed at all, I reached out to Crystal and sent photos. She agreed it was unacceptable and offered to come by again and redo the floors herself on December 28. Crystal reached out on December 26 saying she'd have to reschedule as she was stuck in another province with all the airline delays. I didn't hear from her again until January 4 where again she further delayed the cleaning due to illness. I followed up for an update on January 8 where she booked me in for January 10, but on they day she was supposed to finish the job, she once again rescheduled me. At this point, having been rescheduled 3x and unsure if she'd ever complete the job, I decided to bring up a partial refund. She offered me a refund of 45 minutes, for the time it would have taken to complete the job. If the floors weren't cleaned by 2 people in 4.5 hours... how would they get cleaned by 1 person in 45 minutes....? By this point, my 75 year old father had cleaned the floors himself! I explained to her I need a refund for the work that was not completed in December, NOT a refund for the work she didn't complete today. I requested a refund of $200 (total paid was $450) and then she proceeded to block me on Facebook. I really hate to shame a local small business, especially in these difficult times. I feel that I gave Crystal plenty of chances to redeem herself and provide the services she was paid to do. After already paying a decent amount of money for a very typical service, taking time off work to be there to oversee her work (twice), and now I am left paying out of pocket to get another cleaner to my parents house to clean up the mess Crystal left behind.

Sigh. Looks like I am still on the hunt for the elusive awesome house cleaner. This company seemed…read moreso promising, but fell very short of my expectations. After placing an ad on Craigslist looking for cleaners, I was contacted by the owner of this company. She sent a lengthy and impressive email, and we arranged to chat on the phone. Both her email and the phone call hit all the right notes in terms of what I was looking for, and I felt very confident that I had finally found "the one," so we booked the first cleaning appointment. Sue, the owner, and another cleaner would be coming to clean my place, showing up between 10:30-11:00 AM. We confirmed the evening before. On the morning of the cleaning, I received a text message at 9:20, stating that Sue's car had broken down and that she would not be able to make it, but was trying to see if one of her other cleaners could come in her place; otherwise we would have to reschedule. I was disappointed, of course (because I was SO looking forward to having the place cleaned), but totally understood -- these things happen. We spoke a short time later, and she advised that one of her cleaners, Kat, would be able to come clean our place. Normally we like to have two cleaners because of the scope of the job (it's about 4-5 hours of work for one person), so I double-checked that Kat would be okay with doing all this work by herself. I also mentioned that I needed to be out of the house by 11:30 to take my son to a doctor's appointment at noon, and was reassured that Kat would arrive between 11:00-11:30. At 11:40, Kat arrived. When she got out of her car, she had only a tiny cat litter bucket with a few cleaning supplies -- no vacuum or mop, few or no rags. When I had my original conversation with Sue, I mentioned that I wanted the cleaners to provide all supplies, and that we do not own a proper vacuum cleaner for cleaning the carpets and sofa. Kat told me that nobody had told her to bring all her supplies, but that she would see if someone could bring a vacuum for her (we had a mop she could use). On the way up the elevator, she mentioned something about Sue having left her a message the previous night, but that she didn't get it until that morning. It seemed odd to me, that if Sue had known about her car troubles the night before, she waited until the morning of our appointment to let me know about it. Kat was a little bit odd, and kept getting my name wrong, even though I corrected her several times. She told me she was sorry for being late, but had just dropped her daughter off at school. When we got into my place, she said something about having three sons, and I was like, "Wow. Three sons and a daughter?" and she said, "No, just three sons." So that was weird because I'm sure she had just told me a few minutes earlier that she dropped her daughter at school. Maybe I misheard? Anyway, I gave her a rapid-fire tour of the place (remember, we were now running late for a doctor's appointment) and I left her alone to clean, suddenly feeling very ill-at-ease about leaving this complete stranger in my house, given all the weird things that had transpired. BTW, I was 15 minutes late for my son's appointment as a result of her tardiness, which was really frustrating. All through my son's appointment, I kept having a bad feeling, so I rushed home, only to drive into my parking garage and see that Kat's car was GONE. OMG, cue panic. Did she rob my place and leave? There was no way she finished the job after just one hour! I went upstairs and found a note from Kat (with my name wrong. again.) saying that there was an emergency with her son and she had to leave. I checked the entire apartment and didn't find that anything was missing, so that was good :). As for the cleaning, she had only cleaned one shower and toilet before she left, so that was not so good, since I now had to spend the day doing the cleaning myself. About half hour later, I got a text from Sue letting me know that Kat had left due to an emergency. That might have been a helpful thing to have had BEFORE I arrived home! I later emailed Sue to express my disappointment in the events that had transpired. I really wanted to believe that this was all one big bad coincidence of unfortunate events, and that her company was every bit as professional as I was led to believe. Sadly, I never heard back from her, so I call BS on all the excuses. I am pretty sure that both the car thing and the family emergency didn't happen. I think that once Kat saw the scope of the job and realized she had showed up woefully unequipped, she decided she was not up to the task and she made an excuse to leave. I don't believe the car troubles happened either, since Sue apparently knew about them in advance, the night before. And that is my sad story about not finding the cleaners of my dreams. The search continues...
