Do not use this service, half ass job, broke more than he fixed. Didn't have the proper tools, not happy with his work.

It will need new front brakes in a few months and the rear pinion seal is leaking at the drive shaft. I could not be more satisfied, or complementary. They're professional and fast, having my truck done in just a few hours. I'm pleased we have this shop so close to home. A special thanks for Jenny, who helped process the order and keep me informed when work was completed.

That business is long gone. They are now owned by someone listed as an investor who owns other automotive shops, sadly not a "mom & pop" place anymore. They also use the name V Bay. (Photo below) While the current owner acquired the business very shortly after my son had "work" done there and I use the term work very loosely due to the fact that things were done wrong, pieces were broken and paint on a custom painted truck was damaged. The current owner chose to acquire the name, the building and even the employees but NOT the warranties!!! We had $3500 worth of transmission work done on our vehicle which again, came back with more problems than it went in with. My son immediately spoke with the owner which at that point was the original owners son, however, all of the other current employees were still there and was given a price of $5500 to fix the truck because now other things needed to be fixed, AFTER they "fixed" it!!! So of course we opted out. Fast forward to recently when a mailing came out advertising Vineyard Bay and I decided to put up a FB post on a couple of our local pages just to inform neighbors of our experience with the shop because I knew that they had been a trusted name in our community for a long time and obviously they were not the same company anymore . I had a lot of people reach out to me both on the post and privately about issues that they have also had with Vineyard Bay. Representatives from Vineyard reached out to us after finding out about the FB post and my son and I went in and spoke with them. They offered to fix the vehicle for free, tow it to the shop if need be, make sure a "master mechanic" is the one who would work on it and the service manager would oversee the entire process. *** 1. Does it take something of this level to get a higher skilled mechanic to work on your vehicle? If so why did this not happen the 1st time? *** 2. Shouldn't the service manager oversee all work? How much trust would anyone have in a shop after an experience like ours? We explained that the truck was in the process of being repaired and that we had no desire to bring it back to their shop for any type of service. We were asked "what would it take for you to take down or change the FB post?" Our answer was simple, a refund!! We weren't asking to be compensated for additional labor hours that had now accrued, new parts that had to be purchased, or for other parts that had been damaged. We just asked simply for a refund of the $3500 paid to a company that yes, was in the middle of a transition of ownership but assumed a well known and trusted local name, a location and employees but not customer warranties. When we met with them on 1/16/26 they said they needed to speak with the previous owner and see if they could recoup the money from him to refund my son. They got back to us yesterday and their answer was "no." They did however offer my son an oil change, not some of his money back, not to cover new parts....... just an oil change!! Now I will say that the two gentlemen we have dealt with, Travis and Chris have been very polite, professional and respectful throughout the past week and we appreciate that very much. Unfortunately they have lost our business and the business of many of our family & friends. They were interested in my original post coming down or being changed so I figured I at least owed them an update on the original post, only fair right? They did ask. This is our own personal, honest experience and review of Vineyard Bay automotive/ V Bay Automotive ~ feel free to draw your own conclusions. ***one of the mechanics that worked on the vehicle wrote: "customer is a pain in the ass ~ little midget " SEE PHOTO in marker on one of the parts before installing it into the truck. It was found when the truck had to be taken apart again to be fixed.*** The company does say that they fired the employee as soon as they saw the photo of this on my original FB post. Grease Monkey

I just got 30,000-mile maintenance and inspection (not a trivial service) on my 2021 Toyota Avalon…read moreLimited from the nearby Cottonwood Shores Grease Monkey. The good news is that the staff was very nice, friendly and easy to work with; there's a comfortable waiting area, and the work was completed when promised. My wife has used them for periodic oil changes with no problem, and I've used them for other work in the past, usually satisfied. The less good) news is that there was a bit of upsell pressure for optional $200+ fuel injector service (not a terrible thing; we're capitalists after all), and their overall prices were significantly higher than my alternative well-established repair shop 15 minutes away in Marble Falls. (I didn't know that at the time, and went to Grease Monkey for convenience.) The cost was still far less than what a Toyota dealer would have charged, and they upsell too! A couple of examples: The charge for changing the transmission fluid, including the fluid itself, was $512 (including tax). In Marble Falls the total would have been in the high $300s, including their most expensive fluid. Grease Monkey told me that my tires were badly worn and cupping, with a fairly fresh cut in one that exposed the steel belt. See photo they sent.) I don't recall hitting anything that would have cut a premium tire that badly, but it was an important safety inspection find. They strongly recommended (and I agree) replacing the front two for just under $440 per tire (same premium tire, installed, including tax), and recommended a road hazard guarantee for an additional 17%, which would have brought the total to about $500 per tire. (Every tire I've ever bought comes with a road hazard guarantee included, but theirs might have been a little more comprehensive.) I declined. The cost of exactly the same tire from the Marble Falls shop (installed, including tax) is just under $331 per tire (without the road hazard upsell). Interesting side note: There was a very cool unfinished 1941Chevy pickup hot rod in the storage yard, and I think I saw classic Chrysler Imperial tailfins sticking out farther down the row.

Had truck towed there for power steering failure, upon diagnosis they found a bad hose, was quoted at $800+ dollars. (Remind you that I paid $650 to replace the whole power steering pump a year prior at a different shop with a motocraft part) The extra money was for a "power steering flush and bleed". Had no choice, so after repairs I showed up and the hose was replaced, but the wheels still wouldn't turn all the way to the left and right, and system groaned. Power steering was drivable unlike before, but they suspected a bad pump. The negotiation to get the price down was painful, even though the hose was replaced, the system was still not fully effective, and I questioned the high price of the job. Walked out at $550 and still have to take it to another shop. This place cares more about making money to affect the bottom line than they do taking care of customers. Go take it to a reputable mom and pop shop. Now that my vehicle is drivable, I will source other options. Also, truck is still dripping power steering fluid, hopefully from a dirty job, and not an additional leak.
