I have to say these guys brought me out of Yelp retirement. Mind you I have given them about 7 chances. I have to actually get myself mentally prepared to be degraded, belittled and talked down to every time I go in there. Bottom line I have two Fords - and I guarantee they know who I am. I went to another Ford dealership for 20 years. One of my Fords is way old and one of my Fords is pretty new. My older Ford has never had an issue. My newer ford has the expensive full warranty buy up which I got through Flood Ford a few years back. They don't seem to have recorded I have it. Anyway every time I go in there it's 1k plus for a fix for an oil change ... then they realize I have a warranty. I appreciate them because I now I understand how inferior my 2 fords are and I shouldn't buy another one. What do I know? Glad I have these guys to share I know nothing. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE FOR SERVICE! Saybrook Ford had my 2022 Expedition in to for the second time to fix the same sensor issue. This time the Expedition was at the dealer for nine 9-days. when I pick up the vehicle there was no paperwork to show why they had it for nine days. Further, the removed the rear license plate cover from the original where I purchased the car (Koons Ford of Baltimore) and replaced their license plate cover. They could not tell why they did this. The general manager, Andrew, did like that I was upset. Tried to turn this around as if it was my fault! Did not try to resolve the license plate cover being switched. First, the service manager told me it was the owners policy, then the gm told me it was a new mechanic that did it. BUT WHY? They tried to make seem that we bought the car from them! Stay away from this dealer! This was a very sleazy thing they did. read more

Do not go to this Ford. They are very fraudulent and they do not do due diligence. I love the fact that they are ripping off my 85 year-old mother and my mother even thought one of these guys was her friends, but I won't mention any names they know who they are. They are dishonest. They sold her a warranty and we contacted the Ford corporate and they checked on it and told us she doesn't even have a service contractor extra warranty, they can't even see one when they looked her up. They sold her up for like 3100 or 3400. They are liars and they are fraudulent and they steal. . Corporate will be contacting them. It sounds like they are up selling warranties to people from outside of the Ford company. This is a brand new vehicle and they sell an 85 year-old woman a warranty that doesn't even come into effect for years. They lied and told her she could be traveling anywhere in the US and if she had a situation she could drop her right into any Ford garage. The Ford corporation denies this and said they are selling an outside warranty so it only works in their shop. They brought the paperwork and she went to sign it with them hovering and trying to point and cover stuff, and pointed it out and they still had her sign it which She shouldn't have, but they were very pushy and they told her she could cancel at any time they never gave her any paperwork on it she doesn't even know what it is. Figures don't match on the paperwork. They have the wrong address entered in the system, even though they were given her correct information. Everyone in this area knows that they are thieves. You can just go about anywhere in this area or local area and ask about them and you'll be told they are dishonest. I am sorry to say I will be forced to give them one star otherwise I can't post this. They don't even deserve the one star. read more

Be careful- I just did a cash buyout of my lease - the simplest of transactions. In addition to the obvious charges they charged $949 conveyance fee and a $500 lease buyout fee. That's a pretty good deal for them. The $500 was added to the price quoted Ford Credit. But as confirmed by Ford Credit, this fee was not on my lease agreement. I've had a really great experience so far. They have been helpful, professional and knowledgeable. I just brought a 2014 Ford Explorer a few weeks ago and it is in mint condition thus far. One of the best used cars I've seen while looking. They got me 3 points lower on the interest rate and always answer my many questions. So far, so good!!! Arvy sales guy was awesome! These guys are THE WORST. Brought my 2015 F350 in for a transmission fluid change. Left and came back come to find they under filled it by 4 quarts. Catastrophic damage had to have all the internals replaced ran me $5,500 after tax. They wouldn't even refund me for the service. Everything is on record there and now they won't allow me to go pickup the copies of the service records to go to the state with. Needless to say I am going to the state and small claims over this. They are absolutely horrendous save yourself the trouble. The head manager told me "you know where to find me I'm here till 7 tough guy" real professional. Dishonest and not trustworthy. We bought a used Audi Q5, which an hour after purchase began leaking raw gasoline fumes into the passenger compartment. The toxic fumes could have killed us, we had headaches and became nauseous. In all reality this situation was really dangerous and life threatening. When I called the dealer they said "don't worry we will take care of it" and showed genuine concern. We went back the next day (we live 70 miles away) and they confirmed the gas odor but could not at that time assess where it came from, and said that we should come back and "they will take care it, don't worry". Saybrook Ford booked a service appointment at my local Audi dealer in an attempt to foist the problem onto someone else. When Audi said they would not fix it on recall (it would be a $1,550 repair) we were told to pick up the car. Saybrook Ford, who booked the appointment, would not pay for the diagnostic fee and we had to pay their bill for the Audi dealer to release the car to us. From that point on Saybrook Ford denied any responsibility and would no longer return my calls, despite many attempts. The manager, Andrew, in our last conversation even said "go ahead and place your bad reviews, I really don't care it all gets lost with time anyway"(I hadn't even threatened to do so). I have realistic expectations when buying a used car, but by law it needs to be "road safe", a fuel leak into the passenger cabin is certainly not road safe. There were other promises they failed to keep as well. Take your business elsewhere, as this dealers lack of integrity is ingrained throughout the company, from the owner, manager, sales staff, service manager, and all the way down. read more

I don't think I should have been charged for the time the repair facility (Saybrook Ford) in this case was waiting for the part needed to fix my car. Whatever happened to knowing how much the job is going to cost before they start the job (barring any further problems). My car was in the shop from about (8:45 am to 1:30pm) while I waited for the work to be done. It was a relatively slow day as about 1/2 the bays were open. I was not offered a ride home or a loner car during this time. Most of the time was spent waiting for the part to arrive. I was told the part would be there by 12pm. that time came and went, eventually a supervisor went to an auto parts store to get the part. Finally at about 1:30pm they were finished. Meanwhile I was charged for 3.34 hours of labor. The actual time working on the car was much less about 1 1/2 hours at most. I have been a loyal customer for years buying 3 cars from them and always returning there for repairs. So much for being loyal to your customers. The only way I will go back is if there is a recall on my car! read more

I ordered my 2021 Bronco from this dealer, and in the end did not take delivery. This dealer jacked the price up 10k right before my car was going to ship. The sales consultant, Anthony was not communicative and had I not physically gone in to check, I am quite sure that he would not have notified me until the shipment arrived and I was in the lot. Anthony tried to sell me on a commodity chip shortage excuse for the price hike and put it back on Ford, which wasn't true due to this being my own build through Ford. This car would have never come to their lot if I hadn't ordered it from Ford. On my way out the door the manager, Pat made sure to get the last word in telling me that this is the customer's fault because people are flipping these cars after they take delivery. Both men were not only terrible salespeople, they are rude and counting on people not being educated in the buying process. It was a terrible and deceptive experience from start to finish. There are much better places to order cars from and certainly more honest people out there. Stay away from this place and certainly if you have ordered a Bronco through Ford, I would highly recommend switching to another dealership that will not perform this bait and switch. They can make their 10-15k on my order, I was happy to walk......hoping this saves some time and aggravation for someone else. read more

Purchased a 2018 Ford F150 a year ago from local dealer in East Hartford CT. Eight months later we moved from West Hartford CT to Essex CT (50 Miles away). The local dealer close to my new home Saybrook Ford, will not service my 2018 F150 because I did not purchase the car from them. Spoke with Paul Viscante 844-829-2855 in service department at Saybrook Ford, he claims its the owners policy that I had to go back where I bought the vehicle if it wan in the same state. In October of 2016 I had been searching the web looking for a used F-150 crew cab pickup truck. I found a listing at Saybrook Ford in Old Saybrook Connecticut. The listing specified that it had just come in and that it was too new to have a photo. I decided to drive from our house in Waterford to check it out. When I arrived I was greeted by a salesman named Don Whitmoore who took me into the garage when I asked about the truck. He said the truck had just come in and would be available after it was fully serviced and checked out. I was able to look under the truck and was quite pleased with the condition. I told Don I was very interested and he said he would hold it for me until I could test drive it the very next day. The next day after work I drove to Saybrook Ford for the test drive. As I walked to the driver side door I noticed 2 boxes in the bed and mentioned to Don that they should be removed before we hit the road. He told me that they were the new fender flares for the front of the truck. I then noticed the two new rear ones that were already installed on the truck. We removed the ones in the bed and took the truck for the test drive. I was very happy with the truck and it fulfilled every requirement from the crew cab to the price. I told Don I wanted to purchase the truck and he told me the only thing they needed to do is install the front fender flares and it would be good to go. The next day I met Don and General manager Doug Burt and finalized the sale. Burt went on to tell me I was buying his brother in laws trade in and that the truck was a babied vehicle and a very sound purchase. He even called his brother in law looking for the spare key that he forgot to turn in. A week ago while washing the truck I notice some very small rust bubbles on the top edge of the left rear fender flare. That Saturday I decided to sand, repair and pant the spots before it got any bigger. When I removed the fender flare the entire upper wheel well and fender crumbled off and fell onto the driveway (see photos). I literally felt sick to my stomach. It all came back to me, why there was new fender flares in the bed and how the new back ones were already installed. The holes where the rust was had been filled with silicone and covered up with the fender flares. We had been scammed! I would maybe expect this from a private Craigslist or Ebay Motors sale but from a certified Ford dealership who's slogan is "where a handshake still counts"? I couldn't believe it, and still don't. I immediately called Saybrook Ford from my driveway and spoke to Andrew Quintyne the new General Manager. He informed me that Doug Burt no longer works for Saybrook Ford and listened to my story. He told me to bring the truck to the dealership and he would look at it and see if he could help us. I put the fender flare back on and took a ride to see him. He came out to look at the area and inspected the small rust spots above the flare, when I took it off his jaw dropped. He went back to his office grabbed his camera and took some photos. He told me the owner was on vacation and to give him until Tuesday for a call back. We went into his office and I wrote my information on a sticky note, he then put it on his white board and circled it a couple of times with a red marker as if it was a priority. When I never received a call Tuesday I decided to call myself and was told he had gone to lunch at 3:00 pm and never called me back. The next day after my third attempt to reach him he finally took my call to inform me that because of the warranty and the year of the truck the owner said I was basically out of luck and he wouldn't do anything to help us. I just bought a Ford From Old Saybrook Ford. I've had foreign & Japanese cars for many years until now. Don M. my salesman was great.. very personable and knowledgeble about the cars he sells. He was very patient, and provided me with several test drives and different models. After all, this a a major purcase that can't be an impulse. No pressure "Buy now" "Buy Now" of the big city dealerships... I probably could have saved a few bucks , and wasted many hours driving to the big city dealerships, but the Local guys are low key and easy going without the heavy duty pressure pitches. March/100.00 deposit to Ford to get on Bronco Order List, picked Saybrook Ford as my dealer after past easy purchasing of 2 vehicles. February/ Joined salesman Anthony Garcia to order the Bronco Package who stated many dealers will be marking these up (addendum) We at Saybrook ford will not do that. Wrote a check for 2500.00 agreed on price. Verbal due to Anthony's inability to connect to the internet, following week changed some details and Anthony gave me the price 53,565.00 and I agreed over the phone to accept. Waited and watched the process through emails with Ford, received Vehicle identification # again watched through emails production process. Was notified from Form that My Bronco was done and would ship soon to be at Saybrook Ford by August 30th, also received the the Window sticker with agreed upon pricing. Tuesday August 24th Anthony calls my wife (LIES) to let her know vehicle was in and that due to chip cost and delays the Bronco price had gone up $10,000.00 dollars. (LIES) Also that other dealers were marking up broncos by 40 to 50 thousand dollars. He also asked if we still wanted said bronco "can I get a verbal agreement you are taking the Vehicle?". Then her and I spoke, I then spoke with the Finance manager and asked about the cost. He said it was (addendum) not the cost to build. I stated that we had a verbally agreed upon contract $2500.00 deposited purchase agreement. I also stated that i would not take this sitting down (TRUTH). Warned that I will contact the Media, Social Media, and My Lawyer (TRUTH) Then spoke with the head of sales who informed me that Saybrook Ford no longer chooses to do business with us and that they had mailed back our $2500.00 UPS which we have not received as I write this review. On 10/06/20 I purchased a 2013 Honda Ridgeline from Old Saybrook Ford. I had my eye on this vehicle for over a month and was thrilled to have the opportunity to test drive it. I met with sales representative Anthony to discuss the vehicle. After test driving the truck Anthony and I negotiated the price down $900 due to the truck still needing to be detailed, the driver's side taillight cover is broken, and the dealership had no evidence that the timing belt had been serviced. On 10/12/20, the low tire pressure light was indicated on the dash of the truck. I immediately took the truck to BJs Tire Care Center located in Willimantic, CT. The service technician at BJs Tire Center removed the suspect rear passenger tire, upon removal of the tire the technician found not one (1) but two (2) improperly installed plugs in the tire, a patch, and the valve steam was leaking. The caring technician informed me that the truck was unsafe to drive until four (4) new tires were put on, as the truck is an AWD vehicle therefore all four (4) tires need to be replaced when one is replaced. If this is not done the imbalance of the tread on the tires will cause the alignment of the vehicle to be off, along with other issues. I called Anthony on the evening on 10/13/20 to inform him of the issue at hand and that the truck was deemed unsafe to drive. He said he would call me back in the morning after speaking with his manager. I also called the dealership directly to inform them of this issue, the representative who answered my call questioned why I would need to replace all four (4) tires if only one was "bad", I had to explain as I did above you cannot replace just one tire on an AWD vehicle, a fact that is common knowledge in the auto industry. I never received a follow up phone call on the morning of 10/14/20. I called Anthony late morning of 10/14/20, again I was told he would talk with his manager to see what they could come up with a solution and call me back. After 1.5 hours of not hearing back, I called Anthony again and explained to him that I purchased the truck to get to and from my job where I am an essential employee protecting public drinking water. I can no longer use the truck for the intended purpose as the truck is unsafe for the road not even a week after the purchase date. I have had to find other means to transportation. I stated, "I would hate to leave a bad review if the dealership is unwilling to work with me especially considering I am an essential employee during this pandemic." After this phone call with Anthony, the manager, Andrew Quintyne, called me to state that I should not "threaten a bad review." The text I received from the dealership after my purchase asking for a review stated this: "Hello Katie, congratulations on your purchase of the 2013 Honda Ridgeline. Saybrook Ford would like to welcome you to our family and hopefully be your dealer of choice. If you would like to review Saybrook Ford and your salesman Marc : http://dealr.fr/9z6d6z . If you do not feel like you can give us 5 stars, please reach out to me directly at (860) 388-1292 ext. 30 so I can do what ever it takes to earn your 5 star review." This dealership clearly does not stand by their vehicles or their statements to customers. The text message states to call if there is an issue as to why you cannot leave a 5 star review. The manager, Andrew Quintyne, of this dealership was rude, disrespectful, and completely uncooperative. In my phone call with him, he stated his "wife is a nurse therefore an essential employee so I understand what that means." However, I think the concept is lost on him, as he did not seem to understand that I am required to physically present at my job. I cannot perform my duties from home, it is imperative that I have a road safe vehicle in order to protect public health. I ended the call with, "I'm sorry we couldn't come to a compromise and that unfortunately I would have to write an unfavorable review." He responded with threatening to write a "bad" review about me on my employer's Google review page. Old Saybrook Ford Dealership has and never will be a client of my employer. Andrew Quintyne has a personal grievance with me and not a grievance with my employer, who has not been involved in this transaction whatsoever. Andrew threatened me with libel, threatened my livelihood as an essential employee, and made me regret my decision to purchase the truck from this dealership. It's really a shame that my local American dealership selling a national brand vehicle has no respect for the workforce who are the backbone of our country during this global pandemic. As a result, I will now be purchasing four (4) new tires in order to drive the vehicle safely again at my own cost of $1000. I will be bringing this to the attention of the Commissioner of the Department of Motor Vehicles. read more
