I found this place thanks to Yelp and it didn't disappoint. There's pretty much something on the menu for everyone including a separate kids menu. There is a bar at the entrance with seating and another room which had extra seating. The place is decorated with wood working items. Friendly staff and fast service even though it was fairly busy. I ordered the crispy buffalo fried cauliflower, had to try it. It was really good. Also ordered the bison burger, and I added bacon and avocado. Delicious! Our waitress was a gem. After a long week of traveling, it was nice to spend some time in the more rural parts of Pennsylvania. The area boasts some great local restaurants and this is one of them! Here you can enjoy a great selection of soup, great sandwiches, and some of the best cornbread I've had! All while the local community rides home from church in their horse and buggy. It's relaxing to say the least. Even though I was clearly from out of town, the staff was extremely friendly, energetic, and eager to recommend other places to visit while in the area. We decided to try sawmill Grill because we heard that they have delicious food. So I went with a friend we walked in and we were greeted by a very nice lady. She offered us a seat stairs and gave us menus took our drink orders. Our food was served right away, and the food was extremely delicious. The decor inside the restaurant was old time almost like a Cracker Barrel type setting. There was plenty of seating and downstairs. There was plenty of handicap place places to sit. Parking was a little tough, but we were lucky enough to find a handicap spot right up front. The streets around there are pretty narrow and cars park on either side, but there is parking in the rear. We enjoyed our mirror a great deal. The raspberry tea was an average, but the food was exceptional. They have these crazy curly wedged type of fries, which were delicious. They almost resembled a steak fry, but they were cut in an odd way. If you haven't tried the sawmill grill stop and give it a try it's very delicious and you won't regret it. Stopped here Sunday 5/19 for a late lunch. Staff was super friendly. The inside had a pleasant atmosphere and was not overwhelming with decor. My wife ordered the Irish chicken, I ordered the hamburger steak. My wife loved the Irish chicken. The spicyness of the sweet chili sauce was offset by the mashed potatoes and the cheese. The hamburger steak was delicious. Then we ordered the lemon cake for dessert and that was very tasty and not dried out. Our server Cassidie was very nice and friendly. Would definitely go back next time we are in the area. I was nice of them to tell us what sweet chili sauce they use. Still a great place to eat and hang out! The parking situation is a bit iffy.. street metered parking can fill up fast! We stopped by again one afternoon as a date and immediately sat down to a table and the waitress came over and greeted us. Our food was amazing as always. My husband had the wings and said they were nice and hot with just enough heat. I had the sawmill burger with fries and the burger was cooked beautifully and the fries were amazing. Tonight's revisit to the Sawmill Grill could best be described as a series of errors. More errors than a Walter Matthau coached baseball team. First mistake was to try to get the waitress to understand that my guest wanted the Caesar salad option instead of the seasonal salad option. Corrected her 3 times, and guess was was served. The seasonal salad. SMH. My frozen margarita was no better than what I can do at home. Second mistake was ordering the Crab Mac and Cheese balls. Menu says lightly breaded. More like a coating of plaster and if there was crab involved, I totally missed it. Left 50% of that on the table. My guest ordered her mashed potatoes without gravy to go with the grilled shrimp. Potatoes arrived with you guessed it....gravy. Any hope of rescuing the meal with the Texas Petal burger was lost once I realized that the burger was nothing more than a pre-frozen burger patty from a food supplier. We won't be back. read more

Margarita looked and tasted like dirty dishwater. My and my husband's medium cheeseburgers were way overcooked. This was our okay let's try it again because it had been at least a year since we stopped eating here for the same reason. This is your best option in Oxford. I've never had a bad meal and I've been here several times. The food is reasonably priced, better priced than similar style chains and much better quality. My sister always gets the Bruhlwich sandwich, which is a chicken and waffle sandwich, and she couldn't recommend it more. I've had several different burgers, chicken and biscuits, the fried buffalo cauliflower, loaded nachos- I recommend it all! The service is fast and all servers have been very friendly. I ordered the Chicken Philly Cheesesteak and my husband got a half order of the loaded nachos. I love their sidewinder fries that come with the sandwiches. I also order a side of the petal sauce to dip my fries in and it's delicious. Everything was fresh and good. Our waitress was sweet and very fast! You do have to look for Orapaid parking, but we use the app I believe it's FloBird, and it's very inexpensive to park in the town of Oxford. Love Sawmill Grill! Went with my family while some of us were visiting for a few days and there was something for everyone. Great prices overall, too - you'll spend less than a chain restaurant with a similar menu and the food is so much better. Servers are friendly and the environment is nice. If you are planning on working here as a line cook, you better think twice, especially if you are a female. The group of guys in the back are a big clique, and no matter how sweet and friendly you are and how much you ask questions to learn everything on the line you can, be assured they expect you to know everything from day one. After a few days, if you have a question, they send you to dish from there on out by the manager and the guys. A common phrase they use is, "Don't you have a menu; you've been with us for a week, you should know this by now." The owner, John, strongly insists that every kitchen is the same, you shouldn't need training. It doesn't matter how many years one works in the field and how most restaurants work the same in concept, the menu and the plating are completely different. But the owner John and his manager Mike will cut you off every time you talk and won't hear it. The owner will then ask you why you are not pulling you weight on the line. You try to tell him that his manager and the guys on the line, who speak to each other in Spanish when you walk over to the line at the start of your shift to discuss where you will be placed, point and tell you to be on dish, but promise when it's slow you can pop to the line. That never occurs. You try to also tell the owner that when you went to talk with his manager about the fact that you noticed that you keep getting placed on dish, that you are afraid of forgetting what you learned the first 3 days you got to be on the line, that you want to cook on the line (which you were hired to do), that you will continue to happily help on dish throughout the day when needed, and that your hours are barely 15 hours a week when promised full time at the interview, the manager's response was just simply, "Well, it is just part of the job, I can't afford to hire a full-time dishwasher, and your hours won't decrease." You will quickly feel you don't fit in and don't belong in their clique. Also, once it has slowed down on the line, when you go to tell one of the guys on the line that you are going to your car for a second for medicine because of your migraine, the manager Mike will yell at you and accuse you of always disappearing, when that was the first time you walked off the line since you were hired. They won't listen when you say that that only times you do leave the line itself is to go to the bathroom, to take out the trash to genuinely help with closing at the end of the night, and to stock your station, as is required of the job. Also, some of the guys go outside a dozen times a day without saying a word to anyone for 5 to 10 minutes to smoke and be on their phone, and during slow times, one will stand over their phone scrolling. However, you never pull your phone out unless you check the time or quickly see if someone got back to you for 2 seconds. Be assured, you will get in trouble for that. When you try to mind your own business, work hard, help out wherever you can, John and Mike will motion to you to go to the front to talk, but be assured that the second they give you to answer their questions regarding the issue, you will only get a couple words out before John cuts you off, throws up his hands, and accuses you of making stuff up. They don't want to hear you honestly saying what you see. They will try hard to get you to say you are not happy working there, then cut you off and say, "We don't want you working here if you're not happy." You say, "Honestly, I am not happy, but I need to work here to afford where I'm living." No matter how submissive or polite you are, and no matter if you tell them politely that you will hear them out if they will respectfully hear you out without cutting you off, they will immediately tell you that they wish you the best and you can pick up your last paycheck. Mind you, they sought you out, when you have done nothing wrong but work hard, mind your own business, leave each day on an upbeat, cheery, friendly note with everyone, you never curse, you never shout, you never get involved with any conversation except with those on prep or the line about what you're doing, you have a great work ethic and a honest and kind-hearted character, and all you do is try to explain the situation and honestly describe what is happening in the back that they close a blind eye to, you get nowhere. The discussion is pointless because they stop you two words in every time you are to answer. The owner John throws his hands up, verbally cuts you off every single time you speak, insists the conversation will go nowhere when you have said nothing insulting or derogatory, have never shouted or done anything to warrant such a cruel response from him and Mike. Also, don't ever mention that you can't understand why you are disliked from day one, they will immediately tell you to get off their property. These two men are the most chauvinistic, cruel-hearted men I have ever known. read more
