Wow!! What a gem!! My husband and I got away for a last minute date night last night and decided to give Savor a try as we had heard lots of good things about it. Soooo glad we did. We didn't have a reservation but when I called, the owner, Drew answered and said they were booked for the night but the bar was first come first serve. Savour in downtown Tallahassee is a phenomenal dining experience. I've been twice while traveling up there for work and Savour is now my favorite restaurant. I had the Steak Frites last evening and it was a superb 12oz strip steak with gorgonzola butter. Prepared just barely medium, this morsel almost melted in my mouth. The complexity in the simple gorgonzola butter was surprising, but did not overpower the perfectly prepared steak. Drew, the owner, is a true class-act and his team is attentive & professional at every interaction. Do yourself a favor and try Savour!! read more

My wife had the idea of taking me to Savour for my birthday. Since I do all of the cooking at home, she wanted someone else to do it for my birthday. Of course, she wanted the restaurant she chose to be memorable to me since I often say, "I can make this better at home." Well, she wanted to take me somewhere that challenged my notion of that. She won. I cannot make their oh-so-tender, perfectly-crusted, melt in your moth, 1"+ thick pork chop at home. I cannot make their Gulf Coast Bouillabaisse with grouper, clams, shrimp, saffron sauce, with fennel and basil salad at home. I cannot make their Peanut Butter Bananas Foster with its glassy layers of sweet candied sugar and creme brulee at home. I cannot make their Adult Key Lime Pie with its Grand Marnier and Patron infusion and it walnut crust. This was literally some of the most thoughtful food taken to the next level of flavor....if not the penthouse of flavor. The chef achieved this without putting pompous plates that screamed of decadence in front of us. My wife and I didn't just eat REALLY GREAT FOOD. We literally had a "relationship" with it. There is no other way I can describe it. And the staff? Superb. They were knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. They catered to my beckoned call with enthusiasm and cheer. We loved the attitude of our attending waiter who made us feel welcomed. Lastly, the owners were super. They weren't hesitant to offer a kind word or even to have a conversation. We had a party of 5 for dinner. Ordered the charcuterie app. Was extremely skimpy for 24.00, 2 pieces of salami, 2 pieces of mortadella, a few olives, and a tiny amount of 3 other cheeses. The wedge salad was the best item of the evening. My wife ordered a rare filter, came medium, sent it back and everyone was done with their meal before she was served, waiter said we had to drop to bottom of Que for review, her asparagus was woody on the end. My bouillabaisse was lackluster for flavor and seafood was over cooked. Two other filets ordered medium rare came medium. A total disappointment. They did comp one steak. After seeing all the positive reviews, and hearing great things from friends, my wife and I made Savour our choice for our anniversary dinner on 8/29. When we arrived, the hostess welcomed us very warmly and wished us a happy anniversary. She sat us sat us right away, and was off to get us complimentary glasses of champagne. At this point, we were very happy and excited about the evening. Unfortunately, it was going to be all downhill from there. Our server, Jason, came to the table, looked at both of us, made an awkward motion with his hands, but didn't say a word. So I broke the silence by saying something like, "we're still deciding." After we finished the champagne, we both ordered our food and a round of drinks. When we were about halfway through those drinks, Jason was clearing something from the table and knocked over my wife's wine glass. It shattered and, while her napkin caught the majority of it, wine did get on her dress and some splattered into her hair. While I'm sure he said he was sorry, he didn't seem very bothered by what just happened. When I suggested that he move us to the empty table behind us, he said he could clean our table...which seemed impossible with us sitting there and there was no room for us to stand by the table. The hostess walked over, was very apologetic, and moved us to the table I had suggested. She did say something to the effect of "how can we make this up to you," but I was pretty frazzled and said "accidents happen." Jason brings a replacement glass of wine and we continue our evening. The food comes out and it's good, without the service issues I would have given a 4 in my review. Towards the end of the meal I ask Jason for another glass of wine for my wife and a dessert menu. He lets us know that they give the desserts verbally, and proceeds. My wife makes a decision and we wait. During all of this there has been a group of 4 people that have been pretty loud the whole evening, but the place was buzzing in general so...it wasn't really a big deal. However, at this point there is a lady that has gotten so loud that everyone in the entire restaurant has stopped talking and is staring. This goes on way longer that I would expect, and the lady really is probably the loudest person I've ever heard in a restaurant. Two different staff members make comments to me saying stuff like, "the entertainment is free tonight," when the look on my face is obviously reading that I'm not very happy. Dessert comes along with the check - Jason has never brought the glass of wine that I asked for earlier. I also see new customers being sat that are apparently given complimentary bread, which we didn't receive. I normally wouldn't even mention that, it just speaks to the kind of night we were having. I'll be honest, I was surprised that not even a drink or the dessert were removed from the bill considering what had happened earlier. I'm not going to ask for something to be comped, I feel like it's the establishment's responsibility to make an attempt at service recovery and...up to that point that hadn't happened. As we are getting ready to leave, the hostess stops by and tells my wife to send them the bill if she needs to have her dress dry cleaned. She was a very nice lady, but I don't understand why she would offer to cover dry cleaning when we just paid $100 for our meal. At that point I was really over the whole experience. We're new parents and this was the first night we had been out in 7 months or so. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment. I dined there twice. Once by myself and the next night with my son. The food was delicious on both occasions, the service, friendly, professional, crisp without being obsequious. I ate Caesar salad, and bouillabaisse in the first night.... classically made and delicious. The next night I had the roast chicken .. crisp, tender and juicy served in a light jus... just perfect. We saw good reviews for this place online and showed up at dinner time on Friday without a reservation (didn't know we needed one). We sat at the bar and had a wonderful meal! The food is packed with flavor and plated beautifully. The bartenders were very knowledgeable about the menu, answered all of our questions and gave good recommendations. Many of us are a bit wary to dine out these days but rest assured, Savour is hitting on all cylinders. My daughter was turning 17 this year and her birthday fell out on a Tuesday, which limited our dining options. I had not yet dined at Savour but had been meaning to try it for the right occasion due to the well deserved Yelp love. I called the restaurant in the late afternoon and one of the owners was there and happened to answer the phone. I think her name is Kim. I explained what the occasion was and right off the bat, Kim was welcoming, enthusiastic and let me know the they would do everything they could to make the dinner a special one. Nothing impresses me more than when a business sincerely lets you know that they appreciate the opportunity to earn your patronage. Upon arriving, Drew (Kim's husband and other owner) was there to immediately greet us...what a nice touch. Without getting into too many details, all cleanliness and social distancing requirements are being followed and then some. Our table had a special birthday decoration custom made for our daughter which I found to be amazing and thoughtful. The service was professional and on point from start to finish. The food was fantastic...I shared the lobster sliders with my daughter as an appetizer and selected one of the daily specials for my main course. It was sea scallops over a mushroom sauce with a lovely piece of toast and melted cheese. Our server enthusiastically recommended this and she was not wrong. I also ordered a side of brussel sprouts that were amazing as well. My daughter had the steak frites which she loved (and I got to eat her left overs the next day :) Another nice touch was the birthday desert that they provided for my daughter. Not some cheap piece of generic birthday cake with ice cream...they let her select whatever desert she wanted on the menu, on the house! Great experience from the moment I walked in. I was in town for business so it was just me dining. I sat at the bar and was greeted immediately. I happened to walk in with a couple of other people who also sat at the bar and knew the bartender, Victor. He spent a little more time with them initially but I didn't mind. If anything it showed Victor is really good at what he does. As soon as the other party sat down he had their drinks for them. What a great dining experience! My husband took me out for a day after valentines dinner and it was nice to be able to dress up and not feel out of place. The interior is gorgeous and the atmosphere quietly elegant. From the salad to the dessert everything was wonderful- I had the delicious sea scallops and my husband had a done to perfection filet mignon. My husband and I had dinner here for our one year anniversary. The service was exquisite. The food was delicious. We had the Burnt Ends and Caesar salad with ranch as appetizers. For entrees we had the Cider-Braised Pork Shank and Ashley Farms Chicken. For dessert we had apple pie with ice cream. 10/10 would recommend. absolutely loved this restaurant! my husband & i were passing through tallahassee and stayed next door at the double tree. the convenience of walking over was an added bonus. to start off, we arrived right when they opened, we didn't have a reservation but owner was kind enough to sit us(they were packed by the time we left). our waiter danny, so knowledgeable and had great recommendations, all were terrific. their wolverine drink, phenomenal. the food, i would honestly make the drive from miami just to eat there again. wish they had a restaurant down here. all and all, don't pass up savour, you will NOT be disappointed. read more

It's a chamber of white linen tables surrounded by a charming staff, backed up by a bar and a kitchen that can sustain a class act. Best time I've had in while, to include great beverages and top notch culinary arts and presentations. A new discovery for us here in downtown Talley. Midweek birthday dinner. Reservations simple with Open Table and parking very easy downtown after office hours. Greeted by the owner, invited to have cocktail in a cozy alcove even though our table was waiting. Great drink and wine menus. Indulged in tasting two different types of wine before deciding which was better (both great). Finally settled into our table and more decisions on wine and appetizers. Plenty of appetizers to choose from and we elected to have a half size Charcuterie Board. Perfect for two people. Entrees ranged from steaks to seafoods. Lots to choose from. Shrimp and grits looked good but we elected to go with the Miso Redfish, a Wedge salad and we split both of those. Dessert was a great bread pudding with blueberries. Wines were about 2x retail, a practice more restaurants should follow. Service was very attentive from the Owner to the wait staff. Food and drink were top notch. We've already started planning a return visit to try other items on the menu. Relaxed, not pretentious, a great spot you'll enjoy. read more

The food wasn't phenomenal and our waitress (who was a bit older) was extremely rude to my boyfriend and me. We we're probably the youngest couple in the restaurant (mid 20s) and our waitress wouldn't give us the time of day. We watched how kind she was with the tables around us and when she would get to our table she looked annoyed. I'm unsure if she assumed we weren't going to tip her because the menu is quite expensive, but being in the service industry I know to treat all customers the same because you never know. We were kind to her, didn't complain about the service, and tipped over 20% because we work in the business and are understanding of how it can be. But - I will probably never go back because of how awful our experience was and how we were treated. Definitely will not recommend to friends our age. read more

This is definitely a restaurant that deserves 5 stars and an excellent review. I think Iam more impressed with this restaurant than any nice chain or franchise of restaurants. They are very accommodating, welcoming, hospitable, friendly, and very thoughtful. My fiancé booked a reservation for our anniversary, and thats all he had to say over phone, and they were expecting us when we arrived; had the table all ready for us, with a rose and a nice personal written card for us! (We had a reserved, 2 seat French table that my fiancé selected for us. I would request that for a special romantic night.) No one has ever done that anywhere in any city, not even in Atlanta. Consider this for your next romantic getaway or anniversary. The food is very excellent and made to perfection, with a lot of good, I would say, even healthy choices. Made a reservation for four for a Friday night. We were celebrating my wife's birthday. We were greeted by the owners (husband and wife) by name and they both wished my wife a happy birthday. We seated promptly and noticed a card on the table. The owners had hand written a beautiful birthday card for her (a truly individualized touch). The birthday girl ordered their spicy margarita, and loved it so much she had a second (why not, it's her birthday!). I ordered my usual, unsweetened tea with lemon and pink substitute sugar packets. A brief sidebar, when I order this beverage, 9 times out of 10 I get the lemon on the first drink, but never any of the ones that follow. A Savour, Lauryn was quick like lightning with the refills and kept the lemons coming!!! We started with the Honey Bourbon "Burnt Ends," the BBQ Shrimp, and the crispy frites with Truffle Aioli. The burnt ends were good, the house-made Worcestershire was INCREDIBLE. The BBQ Shrimp were my favorite, a house-made mildly spicy BBQ sauce and good crusty bread for sopping were a winning combination. The frites were piping hot and aioli was delicious, you can't go wrong with truffles! For mains, I went the server recommendation Bouillabaise with a smoky tomato and fennel broth with MOUNDS of seafood (huge shrimp, local clams, and grouper). Wifey had the Shrimp and Grits, loved every bit, even wished for more broth. Our dining companions had the double cut pork chop with succotash and the seared tuna with fried "dirty" rice. They both very much enjoyed their meals. We were absolutely stuffed, but Lauryn insisted on the birthday girl receiving her free dessert. She settled on the Key Lime Pie with Patron and Gran Marnier and house-made whipped cream. We were all happy to help her finish it off by each promising to take at least one bite (admittedly, I went back a few times...). From start to finish I was extremely impressed, from the personalized greeting at the door to the hand written birthday card expressing gratitude for taking our celebration to Savour. Lauryn was knowledgeable, friendly and provided top notch service one would expect at a white tablecloth restaurant. I honestly can't think of a single thing I would constructively criticize. Every part of our experience was 5 stars. This space has been a few different restaurants over time, I think Savour finally figured a winning formula for continued success in this space. Absolutely LOVED eating here. I was so impressed by the service, from hostess to server. We were seated near a few large parties. A really sweet manager came over and apologized to us that it was louder than usual and offered to move us to another quieter section. We were fine where we were but the gesture was really appreciated. The food was fantastic, especially the seafood bouillabaisse. The snapper could've used more sauce for my taste but otherwise it was great. I didn't think I'd love a French restaurant so much but I'm sold on this place! Finally had the chance to try Savour, and it was beyond all my expectations (and any of the great things it seems everyone I know has said). I was having serious FOMO not eating here, so I booked a reservation. We were seated promptly, service was excellent but not intrusive, and we were touched by the extra details for our anniversary dinner. We started off with the charcuterie board, and I had THE BEST pickles and pickled Okra. The pimento cheese was delicious, and that means a lot coming from me (because I usually hate it with a passion). My other half ordered the filet Pittsburgh, it was cooked to perfection. I had the sous vide flank steak. I wish I could eat that every day! The steak was prepared perfectly, and the sweet potatoes added just the right touch of starch (without blowing my carb limit). Their drink and wine menu is great. We did not have dessert (too full from the charcuterie board) but we will definitely be back to try a couple! read more
