I come to Flemington often to visit my friend. Every time I'm in the area I always have to get some Thai food from Savory. I usually go for the noodle dishes or fried rice. They're very flavorful. My friend always get the duck tamarind or the Masaman avocado. I haven't tried it yet but the portions are huge. read more

Probably one of the best thai food restaurants in the area. We really love the atmosphere and the staff is pretty friendly. The price is right and they always have coupons. I always get the "angel noodle" and my husband gets a custom order of "duck pad thai - thai spicy" and his only complaint is that they never listen to him and do it "thai spicy"! We went in on a Wednesday night for my husband's birthday. Being his birthday, he got to choose. There was a lot of concern among the children if they would find anything they like at a small Thai place. It was not a problem! When we were seated, however, my sixteen year old immediately noticed there was only one waitress/ hostess and my daughter groaned loudly about the potential wait. And she was right, we did have to wait awhile for the waitress to take our order, but after that, it was fast service. The food was really good, though, and we were happy in the end. If it weren't for the slow beginning, this would be a 4/4.4.5 rating for sure! Everyone loved what they got and the appetizers. Tofu and vegetables for our vegetarian Green chicken and eggplant curry for my husband Garlic and pepper chicken for my 11 yr old Pad Thai beef for my 13 year old Pad Thai chicken for my 16 year old And I got the salad with peanut dressing We also got spring rolls, dumplings, avocado rolls and the appetizer pupu platter. I recommend this place, definitely, but if it's half full, be prepared to wait a little. Went last night with some friends - we were a large party of 8, all arriving at different times. Maybe they're not set up for this sort of thing, maybe we confused them, I don't know. The waitress practically ignored us, even when our 8th arrived. We were generally happy to drink and chat (it's BYOB) but even getting wine glasses meant I had to go and get them myself from the kitchen - three times. When we tried to order appetizers we had to beg to place an order. Same for main meals. The food, when it came, was great! We had a little bit of everything and everyone enjoyed their meals. But the waitress continued to disappoint, when she forgot one of our group's dinner order. The service was definitely not worth the required large-group 20% gratuity charge. The food was Ok, not great not bad. I was kind of surprised that the chicken wing appetizer special was the small coated ones that most every pizza place has in it's freezer with some spices shaken on top of them. The Rama the King entree we ordered was uneatable. There was something very wrong with the chicken, it had an almost raw like feel to it although it appeared to be cooked so there was $16.95 wasted. The beef Thai fried rice was excellent and the Pad Thai was fair. We used to enjoy their food but after that chicken mishap it will be a long time until we try going back again. read more

Got take-out, Ped Kee Mow and Masaman Avocado Curry. Noodles were better than the curry but both were good. Kee Mow was spicy but not painfully hot and the noodles were not all lumped together even after I got home and waited 45 minutes to eat. Curry wasn't spicy at all- just enough spice to know it wasn't straight coconut milk. My ten month old liked it, her first foray into Thai food. Next time I will ask them to spicy it up for me. The avocado was nice, perfectly ripe and the dish was loaded with chicken and a few shrimp, which suffered from being overcooked. Overall I wouldn't drive out of my way for it but it fills the gap of Thai food in Flemington. read more

Order take out from here all the time and have tried almost everything on the menu. My favorite is their red and green curry with chicken. It's creamy and spicy and delicious however most of the time there isn't a lot of chicken and there is mostly bamboo shoots. Their curry puffs are excellent however I'd skip the dumplings as they lack flavor. read more

I recently moved here from Los Angeles where I lived just outside of Thai Town. This place holds up against any of the well known spots on Hollywood Boulevard. I was was pleasantly surprised. Their flavors are on point. The service was friendly and attentive and their prices are very reasonable. The 7.95 lunch special was huge and came with a tasty af side salad. I love Thai food but rarely get to have it because my husband is not fond of it. Well, he was working late tonight so my daughter and I ordered take out from here. I am so glad that we did, it was so good! Excellent spring rolls, loved the chicken satay, my daughter enjoyed the sticky coconut rice, and I loved the angel noodles with chicken dinner. I didn't give it 5 stars because we only got take out and didn't eat in, so I'm not sure how the service is. The restaurant itself was very charming and had a nice relaxing vibe. I've been to a bunch of Thai places in the Central Jersey area and this one isn't as good as others I've been to. it looks really nice inside, I only went for take out, but when walking in it looks like a very relaxing, romantic setting. The food was decent but over priced. I usually get vegetarian friendly food and that usually is much cheaper then regular dishes with meat but $18 for curry? A bit much for me, especially since it wasn't the best. I probably won't go here again unless i want something closer. read more

My family and I have been to Savory several times since its opening and find it reliably good for the area. It's larger than Pru Thai in Clinton, which makes it easier to get a table. Our faves are the spring rolls, curry puff appetizer (better than Origin in Somerville) & the pad see eew noodles. We've only had very good service. Ugh. Bought a gc at a charity function. Went Friday night. Nice atmosphere, excellent service- the food unfortunately, was terrible. Let me preface this review by stating how much I love Thai food. Also I live in Flemington so I was super excited. Back to the food. We ordered chicken satay. It was ok. 5 skewers with three nugget sized flat tenderloins. Peanut sauce tasted strange, but not awful enough for me to stop eating. (I was starving. ) Thai salad next. Typical salad served with strange peanut sauce again. Then the entrees- Pad thai with chicken, not that great, probably the worst I've tried in a restaurant. Second entree ordered was chicken with cashews. Overly overly overly sweet. (this is coming from an adult who still eats fun dip.) Taste was ok, but hard to get past the sugary sweet sauce. Finally dessert. One fried ice cream, served on fire, and an order of green tea ice cream. Dessert was fine. Final bill was 65 bucks. We used our g.c. Left a nice tip, as the service was fantastic. Later that night became terribly sick, ad did my dining partner. After 36 hours without food, finally felt well enough to attempt to wat. Not worth it! read more

I was looking through some of my reviews and can't believe I had this place rated as 3 stars. This place definitely deserves the bump up to 4 stars. It's easily the best Thai spot in the area. It's located in a strip mall right by the Stop n Shop in Flemington and located right next to a liquor store. It's pretty convenient since this place is a BYOB. I've been here many times and have tried a lot of different apps, but I usually go with the drunken noodles for my main course...and I order it extra spicy. Some of my favorite apps are the - spring rolls, shrimp wraps and steamed dumplings. I'm not too big on the chicken satay or the fish cakes. The chicken satay is just very ordinary and bland tasting, but to be fair, I'm not a huge fan of it anywhere. Like I said, for my meal I usually get the drunken noodles. It's a pretty awesome dish. Nice and spicy and lots of fresh vegetables. I usually get it with either chicken and shrimp or beef and shrimp. I would easily recommend this. They usually have a lot of good specials to choose from, too. People always tell me that the curry is very good here, too. Service is usually very fast and efficient here (sometimes it can be too fast). Either way, I'll be returning. read more

Place is ok if you need a quick thai fix. However it's not the best thai food I've had. I went here for lunch and the service was just ok and food was just eh. Nothing to note about. Went for the first time yesterday and was very impressed. The decor is lovely, the space is larger than I expected. My son and I sampled the Tom Kha and Tom Yum soups which were both excellent. My husband sampled the steamed dumplings which were also very good. As all three of us like duck we chose the three different duck courses - Duck Basil, Duck Tamarind and Spicy Duck. This is one of the best Thai restaurants in the area. The food is delicious. I highly recommend the Duck Basil or Duck Ginger. I also enjoy the Pad Thai and many of the curry dishes. It is also BYOB which is great because there is a liquor store next door. My biggest complaint is the service. It is typically very slow even when the restaurant is relatively empty. This is a good place to go if you are looking to spend a long time conversing before the meal. However, if you are in a rush or on a schedule, I recommend ordering take-out. read more

My husband and I ordered take-out from Savory Thai last night. We ordered 2 Tom Yum chicken soups and the spring rolls. One of the soups we ordered was at a level 4 for spiciness and the other was a level 5 (the max level they do). Both were very spicy and with great flavor! We look forward to ordering more from this restaurant in the future. The spring rolls were delicious, but we wish they came with more than 3 rolls for $5...a bit pricey for only receiving 3 rolls. Still they were quite tasty. The restaurant itself is BYOB. I would have given this restaurant 5 stars if the portion sizes were a bit larger for the price paid.
