What a beautiful shop! Located off of Wake Forest Rd, it's a pure treasure. The shop has all different types of spices, rubs, dips, honey, sugars, etc. It's mind-blowing and amazing. The space is small but inviting! The employees, sooo sweet and helpful. You can ask to taste any of the spices before you purchase, love this! They provide recipes as well and great suggestions on how to use any of their spices. They also have monthly events where they partnerships with other local businesses for pop-ups located in the store on certain days. Everyone follows COVID19 protocol and ask that you sanitize your hands before shopping (they provide it for you at the door).

Great place to get a variety of quality spices, seasoning mixes, and extracts! I received some spices from here for Christmas so I was excited to check out their brick and mortar store. Their store is conveniently located in Lafayette Village. I am a fan of many of the shops in the plaza and only wish they had more parking. When they have events going on, parking can get tricky. I have always been able to find a spot, but it may take some time. Once parked we went inside their cozy, organized store. Everything is clearly labeled and some items have accompanying recipes! During COVID-19 they ask all customers to sanitize their hands upon entering their store. All customers and employees were wearing masks. If you don't feel comfortable shopping at stores during this time, no worries since they sell their products online. They have the recipes posted online as well! I recommend Savory Spice Shop to others and look forward to trying out my new spices!

This is my go to place for spices. We cook a lot of international recipes and if you need it they likely have it. Sometimes they even have the tools you need for the job. I recently bought a set of magnetic measuring spoons. If you have children or a spouse then you need this. I started off with a full set of measuring spoons and cups and now I am down to like three. I am hoping that this set helps us to keep them and I plan to go back and look for cups too.

What can I say... this place delivers on quality product and customer service. If you enjoy cooking and exploring culinary flavors, this is a good place to start.

I think I've been ruined for any more of the standard grocery store spices! Seriously, Schezuan (sic) peppercorns, Ghost Chile hot sauce, hickory smoke seasoning and more and more and more... The spices are fresh, very fresh! There are things here I've never heard of before, but seem tempting to try. It's easy to spend a small fortune here, but don't let that fool you into thinking it's all more expensive than the grocery store. Seriously, compare the prices, I think you'll stop buying the run of the mill stuff at FL, HT, K and wherever else you like to shop. Look for the Yelp "check in" offer on your smart phone!

Have never been to a store like The Savory Spice Store before moving to NC. The staff is very knowledgable about all of the spices, rubs, seasonings that are available. Another nice feature they have recipes throughout the store to give you some idea of what you can make with the different concoctions that are for sale. The store is set up with in different sections based upon what you will be cooking, very easy to understand the layout, and again any of the employees are more then happy to help you out, discuss what you are looking for and help you make the right purchase. Another great feature is you can buy the spices in any size hat you want. They will weigh out your spice so that you don't have a shelf full of old expired spices because you can only buy 4 ounces at the grocery store. Every time that I go in, even just to kill time I always end up buying something. 5 star experience every time.

Love this spice shop, located at Lafayette Village. First time here and very knowledgeable and friendly workers explained that the red labeled jars are for smelling, tasting before you buy. They have so many spices from various Nations and it's organized well. Lots of regulars come in as they have a loyalty program you can sign up for. The spices are priced by the ounce or whatever amount you desire so it's great place to experiment to see which ones work for you or in a recipe. I tried out a pesto parmesan garlic spice and loved it. They also have rubs and oil extract as well as various salt spices to check out. Can't wait to go back and try some more!

Love this shop! They have every spice imaginable and are so helpful. Patty went above and beyond to help me find a gift for a friend. They do custom gift sets and you can choose your own spices. They were very prepared for customers returning to their store due to the Covid19. They have a great location located in Lafayette Village along with other great shops to visit. I highly recommend a visit to Savory Spice Shop Raleigh!

A superb selection of well curated spice blends and rare spices from all around the world, with a friendly and knowledgable staff. Fresh spices make a huge difference, and the staff here will definitely help educate you on how to buy, store and use all the delicious herbs, peppers, blends, salts and even powdered cheeses, flavored sugars, essential oils and chocolates that will spice up your kitchen. Hotheads will delight in the chile selection, which includes (ouch!) ghost peppers and the hard-to-find but delicious Urfa. There's sausage spices, barbecue dry rubs, gourmet sauces and more to be found here, and you can smell and taste most of the products before buying. Highly recommend this great stop at Lafayette Village.

This place is a blessing and a curse all in one. It's a blessing because they have any and every spice you could possibly need. They have ground spices whole spices like dried peppers and mixes like their taco seasoning and their dried cheese blends. On top of it the have gift cards and git sets for the spice lover in your family. To add to the amazing set up in the store, they have recipes on note cards scattered throughout that you can take home with you. Many of the recipes are absolutely fantastic! On top of that ALL of the staff are friendly and helpful and make you feel like family. All of the spices are fresh fresh fresh! At one point they even had people bring in their store bought spices and trade them in for a $1 credit (per jar) on the Savory Spice shop spices. If it was a spice they carried they would let you compare theirs to the one you bought at the chain store. It was a big difference in some instances. Now the curse to this place is every time we go in my wife spends way too much money on new spices or restocking. But I do benefit from the amazing food that these spices make. If you happen to be in Lafayette Village and you like to cook, stop in and see them. Who knows what ideas you might walk out with.

We paid a premium price for six macarons, and every single one was bland or tasted completely off from the advertised flavor. The mango tasted like sweet cardboard, the chocolate had almost no chocolate flavor at all and tasted stale, and the raspberry wine was the only one with even a hint of flavor, but you still wouldn't know it was raspberry if nobody told you. On top of that, the smell inside the shop was overwhelming. The second we walked in, it smelled strongly like chemicals or perm solution, which should have been our warning sign to leave. I hate leaving negative reviews for local businesses, but when you're charging luxury pastry prices, the quality needs to match. Unfortunately, these macarons missed the mark completely.

They came in a nice basket which we have kept and reused. The package we got included three sauces and two bags of pasta. The pasta was not labeled. Out of curiosity, I attempted to identify them online at https://sharethepasta.org/pasta-shapes/. I think we got casarecce ("shaped like a narrow, twisted and rolled tube") and gemelli ("short, twisted pasta shape"). I love pasta and my wife loves to cook so this was a perfect gift for us. The sauces we got were Bulletproof Mother (base sauce; subtle blend of basil and garlic), Bulletproof Marinara (tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, fresh basil, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper), and Bulletproof Balsamic Basil. On the back label, the Bulletproof Mother was described as the base sauce for both the Marinara and the Balsamic Basil. We enjoyed all three sauces and the pasta. Everything had a genuine, homemade quality to it. In general, we found Bulletproof Sauces to be better than your run-of-the-mill Prego and Ragu brand sauces. When it comes to grocery store quality pasta sauces, Bulletproof was on the same level for us as Rao's Homemade (we like Rao's and have eaten it the most). Local and premium is the best way to describe Bulletproof. We could tell the Bulletproof Sauces had been cooked and prepared with a lot of thought, and hand-jarred. The Balsamic Basil was our favorite. It had a nice flavor profile with both a balsamic "zing" and the aroma of fresh basil. I will say my wife always has to dress up jarred sauces to her taste preference and these Bulletproof Sauces were no exception. I don't think we've ever seen a balsamic basil sauce like this before, so the flavor was unique to us. Also, these sauces weren't as salty as other brands we've had. The front labels said no sugar added and keto-friendly. Each jar was 16 ounces. If you want to try something different that's high quality and support local, I recommend Bulletproof Sauces. And if you couldn't tell from this review, they make great gifts too.
