Yikes...nervous to write this because I really liked the location and I wanted to find a go to place after church...sadly this place is not there yet. First it had plenty of seating and was comfortable not overly crowded. Next staff was friendly including busters who smiled if they passed you. Came for a brunch after church. Me and my regular date-My daughter. I ordered the chicken Greek salad that was supposed to have a spring mix or some type of mix of salad. Sadly I only got iceberg lettuce and mostly the whites of the lettuce too. The pita that came with it was rock hard. Daughter ordered Alfredo and it came with soup. We got the broccoli and asked for a side of cheese. Oh and we also ordered a side of fries to share. Now the Greek dressing was delicious so much so all I wanted to do was eat fries and dip them in the dressing. The Alfredo was a notch above diner Alfredo (that's why the second star). The only reason I can't give it a higher rating is that our side of cheese was moldy. I know kind of weird complaining about moldy cheese. But it truly says a lot about what happens in the kitchen. What else isn't being turned over in a timely manner? Now, when I called the server over I didn't make a big fuss I whispered it to her so other patrons weren't alarmed. It is and isn't a big deal. But I didn't want to cause a scene. Initially she said it was mixed with the blue cheese but Im certain the look on my face let her know --I KNOW THATS NOT TRUE....she went to the back and replaced it came back and said the cook said it was indeed moldy. That they had thrown out the other and opened a new bag for my cheese. Now, had the honesty not been so apparent I would not return....She was honest and the cook was honest and this could have gone south but it didn't. She wasn't the best server and certainly not the worst...but could use a little more brushing up on the people skills. This place has a ton of potential! And that is why I would return even after our cheese fiasco. My only suggestions would be to AMP up your salad game especially when pairing it with such a creamy and delicious dressing! Most people who order a salad do it for the nutritional value and iceberg brings nothing to the table! I wouldn't mind some iceberg with spinach and spring mix. But not the other way around. Drive thru's these days are even offering it. And more attention to the turnover of food. I look forward to updating this review in the future! This place deserves a second chance. read more

First time here. Tried the avocado scramble and it was very good. Hash browns were cooked perfect and the service was very fast

This is the best family style diner in the area, period. The atmosphere here is exactly what i'm looking for; big booths, bright windows and nothing looks like a dated 'Clock' restaurant. The food here is great and the menu is expansive, as a place like this should be. Don't be afraid of bringing a picky eater here, they have it all and don't mind custom orders. This is one of my Fish and Chips stops. I have many, but I come here time and again for the wonder fluffy Cod and crispy, hot fries. The Reuben is good too and if you have the option of soup or salad, get one of the soups and thank me later. Staff is lovely and attentive to a fault, never a dry coffee cup in the house. In fact, they bring you your own pot! I've been coming here since it opened and my only hope is that it stays open forever. read more

We stopped here before starting our shopping errand extravaganza one Saturday morning. The breakfast menu is very straight forward, not a lot of bells and whistles. I ordered two eggs scrambled with toast and hash-browns. Corned beef hash was not available, or else I would have ordered it with my meal. Dustin got the same thing plus ham. My eggs were very well cooked in my opinion, but just a little heavy on the butter. The hash-browns could have been a bit crispier. The ham was heated through with a bit of crisp, a nice salty treat with the creamy eggs. It was not too crowded, we were able to sit right away, and the staff was very quick. The only thing was that our waters sat empty, but I am being picky since technically it was after the meal had been finished. read more

This place is a gem. The menu is similar to most of the "country diners" in the metro area but they knock the rest out of the water. My mom has been coming here for years but only regularly did hubby and I start stopping by. I'd go out on a limb and say they have some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. Their fries are literally perfection; crispy on the outside and gooey deliciousness inside. The fish is perfectly battered and nice quality. My husband loves the coleslaw especially. Prices are great, portions are more than adequate and it just feels like a nice, family run restaurant. We stopped by last Friday for lunch and the parking lot was full! Outside of chain restaurants near tech or industrial areas, how often do you see that on a weekday? That alone goes to show that this place is popular and for a good reason. I'll add, too, that though it was packed, we were seated immediately! The have a nice little sun room (looks like an addition) and I actually pointed out to my husband that the windows were spotless - not a speck of dust! They definitely take pride in their restaurant and it shows. My only complaint, which I mention because it seems the GM keeps a close eye on reviews, is that the past three times I've ordered soup, the crackers were stale. I'm not sure what the shelf life is for a pack of saltines but that has been pretty disappointing. In the scheme of things, a small complaint and more than easily overlooked by the great service and great food. read more

Top of my list for local places, family style-American menu. When I want no fuss, good food, good prices, and a quality environment close to home, Savory Grill fits the bill. Our latest visit was a party of three, an 8 yr old that follows me around, his Nana, and me. Early evening (5pm) and the front lot was full, it's a short walk from the back lot. Seated immediately in a near capacity, mostly older crowd. Drinks came out and our order was placed. Our soup came a short while later, along with the Greek dressing for Nana's salad. Soups are always good here, clam chowder and chix noodle this time. Make sure to get the bread for the table, it's fresh and good. My burger was cooked to order, and while not the #1 burger in the area, it is very good. The Jamaican chix salad was reported to be good, it was seasoned well, just not as spicy as she had anticipated. The grilled salmon was good, our little friend opted out on the optional glaze, he prefers most things au naturale. Once again a positive experience. So good in fact, Nana had to complain about other restaurant experiences as she found no fault at Savory. Another big plus about the Savory is their frequent offerings on Groupon. Redeeming the Groupon off my phone app at the register was no big deal and very easy. Don't leave home without it. read more

Savory is our local grill of choice. It's perfect for simple dinner or breakfast. Sometimes, you don't have to be complicated or over-the-top to enjoy some good comfort food. We go there for the relaxed atmosphere, the gracious servers and the menu variety. I usually go with grilled chicken, gyro's, any of their sandwiches and wraps (I'm a sandwich guy so I like them all.) or breakfast. It's always made the way I like it. P.s. This has been a Sunday morning favorite in my family for years. Usually, it's not too hard to get a table but it definitely gets crowded that time of the week. Prices are fair and the portions are large, in my opinion. Usually, my parents would split an omelette meal and it would be enough (if you're not too voracious). With that strategy in mind, we spend a total of $15 on breakfast (tip included). The waitresses are attentive and do a good job so I try to tip them well. read more

5 stars all the way around. Atmosphere: Clean, nice, quiet despite being 3/4 full - they have sound-dampening ceiling tiles. All booths. The menu: it's huge. There are two pages just for breakfast......a page for sandwiches and burgers, a couple pages for the many entrees. I like the fish selection. They have fish and chips, grilled fish, breaded fish. Large selection of side dishes, including a rice pilaf with tomatoes and spinach which we didn't try this time, but overheard someone nearby ordering a large take-out order of - just that rice! - so I'm betting it must be really good. My husband got an omelet with chicken, sausage, tomatoes, peppers, onions, and cheese, with toast and hash browns. He said it was absolutely perfect, everything, with the omelet being cooked just right - not browned, not underdone, creamy and filled with a great combination of flavors. Hash browns were browned just right. I got the grilled trout with potatoes and coleslaw. That trout is the best I've had since my last trip in the UP, fishing. I don't usually order trout anymore unless I am north of the bridge, but this fish was cooked by someone who knew what s/he was doing. Outstanding. The potatoes and coleslaw were very good. Service was excellent. Our server knew the menu, she was friendly and professional, she had excellent timing. Everything was so comfortable, and the food so delicious, and the seats so comfy, if we were going to move we would move closer to this restaurant. One problem. I love this place. I am 48 and it reminds me of diners from childhood, but is bright and new, has great tasting food, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. I like the chicken kabob and rice with red sauce, and my kids like the onion rings, burgers, and cole slaw. The breakfast is all good, and the coffee is not weak like some other diners in the area. We went here for breakfast, and my opinion is relatively optimistic.. Although pancakes are rubbery and not as cakey as I'd prefer, they have an incredible spread of breakfast meats that come standard with their breakfast special... Bacon, sausage links, AND ham !?!!?.. absolutely!!... hash browns were ok, coffee was ok... I think this places is good enough to enjoy, but not necessarily for me to go out of my way to go there.
