He has not completed the work on my pavers and damage done to my property had to be done by me. I billed him for $450 for repairs but still after promising, to pay me months later no money. He said he checks in with his workers daily - he didn't on my job. Jamie is the most unscurpulous contractor or worker I have ever come across. Hire him at your own risk. I've been wanting to do this review for months but haven't had a chance. Plus, I wanted to give our turf some time to go through late summer, fall and winter before I gave my review. We had Sav-on do our small backyard in artificial turf because our 3 dogs killed the natural lawn with their urine burning the grass yellow, brown and "dead". I was tired of reseeding and watering everyday to try to bring life back to the grass, but it was futile. We decided to replace our lawn with artificial turf, and Mike came out to visit our home to scope out the job. Mike gave us a fair quote and provided us with great service and a superior installation job of the new drains, top quality, high-grade USA-made artificial turf, and generous use of non-toxic pet-odor absorbing material as an underlayment and additional material that they spread within the turf fibers. They laid down 24" x 24" pavers as a walkway within the turf and it turned out beautifully. After more than 8 months, the turf has held up like it was installed yesterday. We worked with Mike at Savon Pavers in Oxnard to complete an unfinished dirt patio at our home. The company worked on many projects in our neighborhood and happened to be advertising at the time we were looking to hire someone. Other companies we called took many days to respond and Mike called us back the same day, therefore, earning our business. We met with him not long after and he brought samples to our home along with photos of their work so we could get an idea of the product we wanted. He spent as much time as we needed and didn't rush us when making a decision. Ultimately, we decided to go with a new product on the market (porcelain wood-look pavers). After the free consultation, Mike drove down the road with us to their supplier so we could see the product in person. After we signed the contract, Savon provided us with professional plans that we could submit to our HOA for approval. There were a few challenges with the installation process since the product we chose was new to the market. Mike was communicative, frequently checked-in at the installation, responded quickly to questions and made sure that our product was installed the right way. Once the project was complete, we noticed that a couple of our pavers arrived with chips in them. The product was out of stock long-term, so Mike and his boss (the owner) worked hard to get us two extra display pavers from the supplier. We recently used Savon Pavers to do a parking spot, and an enclosed patio area. After getting three bids from different companies we chose Savon. The price they gave us was competitive and they offered some good advice about building a fence which was going in before the pavers. The owner, Michelle Valdez, is just not a customer first business person. She is argumentative, pejorative and not solutions oriented. She failed to acknowledge or remediate a huge issue wrt the responsibility and diligence of her team, which led to my puppy gaining access to the outside of the house and running free. This was a negligent act that Michelle failed to acknowledge and address in an appropriate way. Instead I received a condescending lecture. Interestingly, her own employee stated that Michelle should not be allowed to talk to customers. Hired Mike at Savon pavers to redo our driveway, patio and backyard with pavers and artificial turf. Took quotes from 3 other companies, but Mike was by far the easiest to talk to. He was very patient with with all our requirements and had great design suggestions. While most companies just give you a total estimate, Mike was very detailed in his quote so we knew exactly what each part was going to cost. When it came to choosing the actual paver color and style, Mike sent us a ton of samples without any hesitation to decide on the actual stone. Stone decided, we signed the contract and chose a start date. Project started on time and the crew were amazing. They came on time, cleaned up every day and did the job amazingly quick. Mike came by almost everyday to check the progress and kept us up to date. Any concerns we had during the work were immediately handled. Mike was available to talk pretty much anytime. We had to delay our project due to rains and then the pandemic hit which put our project on an indefinite hold however through all of that Mike kept in contact with us. Finally we were able to start our project this last Monday and the job was finished on Tuesday. It was like watching a film in fast motion. Lupe the Forman also was on point in directing the crew. Savon Pavers just completed our driveway and a small path in our backyard and we couldn't be happier. The whole experience was great from beginning to end. First, I love their website--I liked what it said about the owner, who is a veteran, and unlike many other competitors, the site has extensive photos of the Belgard pavers they use and they are gorgeous. A little side note--I was not always sold on pavers as I don't like the interlocking kind. I knew I wanted variation is shape, edges and color and that's what we got and it's just beautiful. The driveway makes our house and yard look so much better and we are already getting compliments from neighbors on it. I wasn't sure if Savon Pavers served the Santa Barbara area and fortunately they do. We worked with Mike Dobson, who was very professional and helpful throughout the process and this is his area. Because it was raining this week, they made a special effort to complete the job extra quickly (it was only going to take two days anyway, but they powered out on day one). Hired Savon Pavers when their bid was about 40% lower than the competition and I'm ecstatic about the job they did! Mike Dobson is the contractor for the Ventura/Santa Barbara county region and he is exceptional. Extremely knowledgeable and takes as much time as needed describing the product, the process, and the installation. He has been extremely fair and competent in all interactions and went the extra mile for me on a couple items. My home has no exterior access to the back patio and Mike and his crew had to do the work by coming through the house to dump the old bricks and bring in the new pavers. They carefully laid painters drop cloths to protect the carpeting and were very careful coming in and out of my home. 2 Part Review: One for the paver work Top notch. The entire crew was great. The pavers look amazing and they have stood by their work as follows: -There were 2 areas of pooling after the rains, they came back to fix those areas. -There was 1 area that the work on one edge that was not completed as we agreed and scoped out and they came out and fixed that as well. I would absolutely have Savon do any future paver work for us. 2nd Part Drainage work: Separately from the pavers we had Savon help out with making sure we had proper drainage from the back of the house and under the new driveway. Overall I was not happy with how the drainage work went. It felt very much like an after thought. To Savon's credit, they came out to try to address my concerns and the issues, but ultimately because the work did NOT heed my concerns about making sure we had enough fall from the back of the house to the drain point under the driveway the drainage part of the project fell short. In the end I was left at a tough decision point of having them rip up a big section of the drive to redo the pipe or just living with it and regrade-ing the backyard. Neither option felt good. We wanted to be done with construction as well and so ultimately I am left with a less than ideal option of having paid for drain work that fell short even though time was put in by Savon and am going to regrade the backyard. To be clear. 5 stars on all paver work. Definitely would hire again. 3 for the drainage and that might be generous based on the feel bads with the drainage. read more

Savon Pavers, wow what a great company! We found Savon Pavers at the Home Show in Santa Barbara. Mike Dobson was their representative and he fully explained the entire paver process to my husband and I. We wanted a paver patio so we set up an appointment for him to come to our home and the process began. He came prepared, listened to our ideas, showed us many pictures on his computer of what he thought we wanted and helped us with our decisions. Mike is very professional and likeable at the same time, not pushy, just a nice guy. He explained how the crew he uses would come in and get the job done professionally and efficiently working cohesicely. Well, he was right!! Lupe showed up with a crew of 8 guys and they finished our patio and left the surrounding area all cleaned up and it just took one day. We were overwhelmed with how hard these guys worked and the end result was absolutely beautiful. The next day, Mike came back and sealed the patio that enhanced the beauty of the pavers. And, because we were so pleased, a few months later, we called Mike and said, "we want more pavers". We decided to connect our patio to our walkway around our house and include most of our driveway in this new job. Once again Lupe and his crew showed up. The job was twice as much as the patio and with the same workmanship they finished in two days. We felt very comfortable from the start where we got help and advice for our desires and good suggestions that saved us time and trouble. When the crew came in, they came in on time and worked very fast. The job was completed early, but everything was done as promised. Several times when I went out to check to see if this or that item was done as requested, it was already done--as requested. Even when an unanticipated problem occurred, Mike proposed a reasonable, inexpensive solution that would work properly. Can't ask for more than that. Savon Pavers removed my old concrete driveway and put in a beautiful stamped concrete driveway with a pavers border that complemented my existing flagstone walkway very well. Mike was the Sales guy I worked with. He was helpful without being pushy. And he was very responsive to my questions and concerns. He also wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty, coming on-site to make any after-installation adjustment himself! Because concrete needs to cure for 6 months or so, Mike also wrote me an IOU to come back himself in about 6 months and seal my driveway at no cost to me. He is also helping me with some color issues on the stamped concrete; if the color doesn't blend in a week or so, he agreed to discuss with his boss what can be done. read more
