Have taken two vehicles two separate times to get subs installed. After the first time my air conditioner would not turn on - had to bring it back to him where it was fixed. Everyone makes mistakes didn't think much of it. Brought my current truck to him a few months ago and pretty much everything was sloppy and dangerous. I have had to re crimp/sleeve 4 terminations that have came out on their own because all that was done to them is a light squeeze with some channel locks and wrap the connection with electrical tape; huge fire hazard. The plastic panels that he had to move to route the wires were not put back into place and were popped out. The gain on the amplifier was fully turned up which caused one of the subs to blow. All of the cables were just throw under my back seat absolutely no cable management. Would not recommend to anyone and will not be bringing any future jobs here. read more

I have had several cars worked on at this location and I have to say that the team here is super professional. Their prices are incredibly reasonable, and their labor rates are more than fair. I don't know anything about how the could have problems here but I know that the owner has been over backwards to do a great job for me. I cannot give them a higher recommendation. read more

My biggest mistake throughout this entire process was not getting the names of the people I spoke to I deeply regret that. My first complaint about dealing with the audio shop would be the fact that I talk to a man on the phone who told me to come up The following day and that they should have time to have my stereo installed I never got an appointment time or the name of the person I spoke with which was on me. Upon arriving I was told by the young kid at the counter that they wouldnt have time to do it that day and since I am driving at least 45 minutes from another state to have this done I was obviously frustrated. Then he tried to schedule me for a week out on my birthday which obviously he didn't know, When I told him this wouldn't work as my wife and I were planning on taking a road trip across the country soon and I wouldn't be in the area plus I needed the navigation system to go across country so I wouldn't have to be on my phone while driving. So he moved it up another four days sooner. My second and most pressing issue was when I arrive for my schedule appointment, I am not a stereo installation expert by any means but I am also not an idiot. Now when I was informed of the hundred dollar an hour price I did not think anything of it considering this stereo is an easy installation and should not take any more than a half hour to install. The only reason I didn't do it myself is because I originally was going to have my father who is an electrician help me with some of the wiring so I chose not to pay the extra $20 to have Crutchfield do the wiring for me...big mistake my father and I had a falling out due to unrelated issues and I am not personally comfortable messing with the wiring as far as stripping and splicing them together goes. Knowing all of this I was apalled when the kid at the counter suggested to me that it was going to be a four hour minimum to install the stereo. Meaning he wanted $400 to install a stereo that should only take A half hour tops in the hands of somebody who knows what they're doing... when I told him that I was not going to pay the $400 he then went on to try to explain why it was going to take so long etc. and suggested a few other places I could try as if I hadn't done that already. Mind you out of all of the other places that quoted A price for me The max that I heard was $180! And that is including Best Buy a huge franchise! My whole review could've been summed up in a few words this place is a joke they will waste your time and try to rip you off for everything they think they can get out of you. Don't waste your time especially if it is the young kid that works behind the counter working. I wouldn't doubt if he never even told his bosses about my appointment or my stereo system and he wasn't planning on pocketing some extra money. Hello, I had a low Cost Interlock ignition device installed into my car about a month ago, and have had to visit the Audio Shop on Industrial Rd. in Florence, KY 4 times since then, paying money to this business every time. This employee that you have working there has been there every time that I have visited as a customer, and he has been rude with me every, single time. I didn't see a name tag, but he is a tall and white, middle aged bald man with broad shoulders and a sour demeanor. The first time I ever met him and asked about installing the Interlock device into my car, he told me that it would cost more for me to install the device because I have a push button ignition. He went on to tell me that I would get a rebate from low Cost after paying the Audio Shop for installation, so I jokingly replied that I didn't care that it would cost more. He responded curtly with, "well, you should care." To try to make this long story about how horrible this man is to your customers, as I had never met him previously, today I had the worst business/customer experience of my life, which is what prompted this complaint. I've been having problems with this Interlock device, but the last 2 times I had it calibrated, the girl at the counter told me to go out to my car and unhook the device and bring it back in to calibrate the device. This time, the device locked my ignition over the weekend because they were closed, so I unhooked the device from my car and had a friend drive me to the Audio Shop for recalibration. I stood in the office for several minutes before finally walking to the door of the garage, where this man was working. I asked if anyone was working the desk, to which he snidely replied, "does it look like there's anyone working the desk?" I replied with, "well I thought that maybe she was using the bathroom." Nope! He responded as he grudgingly walked behind the counter. I handed him the Interlock device to recalibrate it, and told him the mileage. I mistakenly explained to him what happened to me with the malfunction of the device last week, to which he asked, "so the car isn't here?" I told him no, the device locked me out over the weekend, so I had a friend drive me over. He told me that he couldn't calibrate the device without the car there, and suggested that I have it towed. I said that I couldn't afford to have the car towed all the way to Florence from Dayton, as he handed me back the device. I snatched the device out of his hand and wheeled around to leave. He PROCEEDED TO TELL ME NOT TO COME IN THERE ACTING LIKE A BITCH, AND GO HAVE IT CALIBRATED SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! I couldn't believe this employee's blatant disrespect and aggression, and I actually felt a bit afraid for my safety. Still, as I walked off, I called "fuck you" back to him. I heard him yell, "fuck you!" back to me as I scurried out the door, still afraid for my safety at his rude aggressive stance and demeanor. I warned him that I would be contacting his manager, and he said that he didn't care. This man has no business working with customers, and I feel that he is a ticking time bomb that will end up getting your company sued. I'm Not suggesting to you how to run your business, but to leave this man employed at your audio shop seems dangerous for your company, as well as for the public at large. Please do something about this man, and I will be informing everyone that I know about this horrifying experience with this employee of yours. read more

Had a sub and amp installed in my focus. Very good customer service and easy with scheduling, got me in the next business day after I called! Did a very good job installing and did it very quickly as well. I highly recommend if you ever need any audio installed in your vehicle. read more

I have had Kevin (Audio Works owner) install 3 different systems in 2 of my cars and his work was amazing. He does the the best job in the tristate in my opinion. People might shy away at times because he charges a bit more than other places but his work truly backs it up. I will continue to have him do my work until the day I die regardless if he's in business or not. Great dude! read more

Ok so here's the deal with this place; if you are trying to have anything serious installed you are asking too much. Unfortunately this place is run by a couple of dudes who know how to put speakers in your car and that's it. The other day I went to have a big three upgrade (a very common installation for people with high rms systems) done and the dude didn't even know what it was. After explaining to him what it was they told me that it would require a car lift and three hours of work. I went home, googled how to do it, and had the job done in an hour or so. Something that would have cost me probably over $300 for them to install can be done by yourself for way cheaper and with half the bullshit. After being into car audio for a couple of years now I've learned that if you don't want to get ripped off or anything done well just do it yourself. These guys are pretty much your typical salesmen who will try and make you spend as much money as possible, taking advantage of the less informed people who go in there want a sub, radio installed, or whatever the hell you want to do. Once again just let me reiterate that when it comes to car audio- do your research and just install it yourself. If you don't cheap out on anything and do the job right you will save yourself hundreds of dollars and gain the satisfaction of doing something yourself. I know this is somewhat of a rant but I'm just trying to prevent more people from getting ripped off by these guys who don't really know what they're doing. read more
