I bought a larger dog cage at Saver's for my son, and tried to return it 6 days later because it had a missing latch which I wasn't aware of, but they no longer take returns on most items, and when they do , it has to be returned in a weeks time, and they don't give you credit. I am on Social Security and now am out $30. With Goodwill you get credit which is good for 6 months. It's really sad that the public donates these items to Savers, and than they steal from the customers . Disgusting way to run a business.This policy will ruin your business sooner or later read more

have shopped at the bell road savers many times, went in with my handicapped adult son today, and at the counter, he was discriminated against because he was handicapped. The person behind the counter told him he had a time limit, and he could only look at two things, they have no right to tell him how many things he can look at when many people take a very long time to look at things, and I've never heard of a time limit before, on the way out of the store he told me about all of this plus on the way to check out one of his toys didn't have a price tag on it. The lady told us that on Mondays they don't put price tags on items if they don't have one on there, it was a toy he really wanted, he ended up, not being able to get it , on the way out of the store, he pointed the woman out come to find out it was the same woman that told us we couldn't get the toy when I got in the car and he told me the whole story I called back to the store come to find out the woman that helped him was the store manager, she denies she ever helped him, but he pointed her out. She even lied about what her top look like and what color it was. I cannot believe that savers is supposed to help people and even their store manager is against handicap people. read more

I have been going to this store for years Once or twice a month. Over the last year it has went extremely down hill. Their prices are the sometimes the same as retail but usually it is more than new in the store even full price no sale. These piece are used and the quality also has went down. It seems like they are picking up this stuff out of the trash or they are taking everything goodwill won't put in their store. They get their items for free why in the world are they charging new retail MSRP prices. savers has become a joke and waste of time. I am not asking for everything to be a dollar but at least under retail. I went in today and looked for clothes for my son for school as he is 6 years old and goes through clothes like they are toilet paper and I am trying to save a few bucks by buying second hand. Example #1: I just was at under armour a few days ago for soccer cleats for him and was looking at their their other clothing since I was there just to look well they had polos for $15-$25 bucks. I actually found 4 of the exact same polos that UA had for $20 bucks here at Savers. I was excited to save a few bucks till I looked at the tags. They were $22 each and when I looked them over they looked to have been dragged behind a truck since the 19th century. They had stains and tears in the fabric on every polo. I was was shocked. Come on savers. Example#2: I saw a pair of Levi jean they were in ok condition with wear and tear with a pocket that was coming off but that can be fixed and at $15 bucks not a steal but still cheaper than new. I put them in my cart. A few items later on the rack and the same tag color I find 2 pairs of Levi cargo shorts in the similar condition not perfect but still in wearable condition for a 6 year old boy. Well I was shocked again when looking at the tag. They were $24 bucks a piece. Like are they serious. How in the world are shorts now more than jeans. I thought it might have been a mistake. I hate to be that asshole customer but I asked an employee nicely why the shorts were more than the jeans just in case I was missing something. Well I put this lady way out of her way by asking as she was doing nothing just standing there starring into space. She gladly rolled her eyes hard enough she saw her brain and also wonderful huff. She finally said "that is price" and just turned her back to my face and walked away. A point for great customer service. Example #3: there was a group of old navy shirts and polos. I just looked to see what kind of price they had on these bad boys. Old navy is pretty reasonable for the most part. Well first they were all either stained with black ink and lots of it, ripped, or falling completely apart. Not a single item was under $15. The exact polos in Old Navy's store is $10 full retail MSRP without a sale, they are usually always having some kind of sale. Again these pieces were priced over retail and all trashed. I won't donate a single one of these items. If they were my son's they are no where close to being savable. They were trash and I don't throw clothes away hardly ever. I could go on with another 100 examples. All of their kids clothing were priced at retail or more. There wasn't a single piece I found that wasn't priced even remotely reasonably. Wait the Levi jeans were ok and the racks were full. It wasn't like the racks were empty either. Nope all the kids racks were packed to the point that you could barely go through it. Savers you get this stuff for free. You don't have to pay for it. Yes you have overhead but dam. Go to goodwill and learn how to price stuff. I am not a fan of goodwill because they switched to being a profitable company years ago. At least Goodwill knows how to price used items under what they sell for new. read more

I go into this savers all the time. Last night around 5:30 I went in. I was waiting in line to check out.. there were two men in front of me when the cashier from over by the jewelry counter called out "next in line". I turned to the people in front of me and asked if they wanted to go over to that register. Maybe only 20-30 seconds went by as I waited because I did not want to cut in front of them, when suddenly the woman behind me started to yell at me to "make a decision and move my ass" ! I was "ummm I wasnt going to take cuts in front of those people" but she kept harassing me and then followed me over to the register ... I told her to shut up And she kept on ! The cashier (young kid in a Santa hat!) became frustrated with me and told me to "stop" And just check out and I said "no ! I'm being harassed by this woman" who was still on my case mind you. I told him he cannot just minimize what was going on and at that point he walked away from the register leaving me there.! I could not believe it ! I felt threatened by this woman and he was trying to make light of it and then walk away from his customer ! I was willing to have the police called and press charges. Honestly ... I could not believe it. That cashier should be fired. I will not go into that savers again. read more

So, normally everything is 5 stars or 1 star ... hear me out. (or don't, it's the internet.) We hit the thrift stores about 4 times a year and do our big shopping on those days. For giggles, I bring the kids to Scottsdale Fashion square the day before and let them see the prices and the terrible quality. (I've taught both of my kids to sew, so they know what to look for.) Then, we hit the savers and they know to look for quality merchandise and at half off the already low price, they're amped because they know we'll use the savings for something important. Five stars for Richard and the energy shared. Maybe not your fault, but minus one star for the insanity at the dressing rooms for the higher prices this time. I have been shopping and donating here for years. Lots of great items, honestly a lot we own comes from there. Love the after holiday discounts, and the punch cards, plus sales. Employees are great every time we go. Only issue they have high traffic and a lot of homeless people in and out of there. They had their bathroom remodeled not too long ago. And sadly it's still disgusting. I refuse to use the restroom at this location! Feel bad for the employees and people that have to clean it. I've literally seen poop smeared all over the walls, and toilets and even on the sink handles. It's gross. read more

New products cost more to manufacture and harm the environment which is why people should shop in the resale market. Most clothes, shoes, and bed sets cannot be recycled, thus it ends up in landfills. When clothes that can't be recycled end up in the landfills, they begin to create greenhouse gasses. Second hand markets are quality resources to buy or resale cars, shoes, bedroom sets, and tickets. So what is the point of buying products at Walmart or Costco when people can buy the same item in the resale market. People should buy items on OfferUp because of the secure payment methods, safety features, and great product representation. read more

Believe me when I say we bought nearly $300 in clothes and other items and we walked out only paying $135! My firs time at a savers! They have a ton of variety for seasonal items (Halloween costumes) and a lot of clothes. Their housewares items are WAY overpriced and the quality is less than impressive. Also, it was the last week of September... Everyone was dressed in costumes, playing Halloween music. I'm all for celebration, but a little early. If I could, I'd give the store with no stars. I shop at savers a lot. Tonight I took my kids looking for something they needed for school. We split up to shop and met up at the register. Upon ringing up my own items the employee took something I rang up and told me it was priced wrong and a manager needed to check it. They then accused us of changing tags. And voided our transaction. Im pissed. It was a $9 t shirt with a current colored tag...I'd never change tags but don't you think if I did I'd change it to a half off color. I'm felt attacked and it was embarrassing. I literally spend hundreds a month in their store. I won't be back. The staff was horrible. I don't know what kind of bull**** their pulling but after us I over heard the same employee do it to someone else. She needs to get off her high horse and realize most of their stuff they sell is donated and most people shop here because they can't afford retail prices. Next time don't accuse an innocent customer of switching tags...if it was priced wrong by your employees in the back, maybe you should pay better attention before you put stuff out, don't punish a customer for your mistake and accuse me of it. On Sunday (6/8/2014) after having lunch, my mother wanted to go to Savers & do a little shopping for some tops to go with some of her pants that she already had at home. So off to Savers the three of us went after a nice relaxing birthday lunch. When we walked in they were having 1/2 price on all their orange tag items. Which is awesome. We ended up spending at least a couple of hours picking & trying on clothes. If you are selective with the items you choose you can get things that are new or look almost new for super cheap. I would recommend Savers to anyone that is a bargain shopper & loves to save money. I like shopping @ Savers. read more

I LOVE THIS STORE!! Just moved the PHX area and I have been to every Goodwill around. Thought I would check out the Savers store at 3517 W Bell Road on a Sunday while my hubby was watching football! OMG This is so much better than Goodwill. Yes some of the prices are higher (for name brand clothes) but some are LOWER than Goodwill prices. They have a HUGE men's department with lots of like new jeans for $9.99 or lower.. I saw Levis for $5.99! MUST DRAG HUSBAND HERE! They do the same color coding and one color is on sale 1/2 price. Of course, I can NEVER find anything with the color that is on sale. But I got three tee shirts for $1.99 each!! They also have a reward card and a punch card where you can earn 30% off when you card is full. I will be making this a weekly stop for sure. read more

As far as second-hand stores go, Savers is one of my favorites in general. They tend to be cleaner, and priced more appropriately than Goodwill has been over the past few years. I like I get my kids clothes here since they have this weird tendency to grow and wear out what they wear (go figure) so I try to take advantage of their daily Half-price special on a random tag color. Every once in a while I'll get lucky and find a good board game (I'm a board game designer and collector, so I love finding oddities) or even a nice shirt or pair of pants that are (either practically or sometimes literally) brand new. I think I even found a nice pair of hiking boots once when I was about to go camping and was in a pinch to just get something on the cheap. Wash everything before you use it, of course, but I've had pretty good luck at Savers. read more

I think what I dislike about Savers is that it seems to be overpriced for used stuff they got for free. I suppose that happens since they are a for profit store. They have TONS of housewares stuff. I have found this Savers to have the most variety than most of the other locations around town. They have a large selection of furniture, appliances and pictures. I have found tons of good finds in this store, and the staff are always very friendly right when you walk in until you leave! I enjoy Savers a lot more than Goodwill stores because they seem to have better quality items when it comes to clothes and products. In my opinion this is the best Savers location in Phoenix. I have been to all of the locations and this one is the cleanest, well kept, and organized one. The selection is much better also. They have alot more furnature than the other locations. The people at this store are the friendliest and so helpful. I was here last week during the Monday half price sale and the fitting rooms were very busy, I didnt feel like waiting, so I just bought everything. They have a 7 day exchange only policy on most items, so i figured if i don't like it I can exchange it. Today I brought in like 20 things to exchange. Craig helped me, he is the coolest guy. He was very patient processing my return, pleasant conversation. Even though I was holding up his line he acted like I was a valuable customer and treated me very well. I recieved exceptional service from Craig and Richard. These guys are the best. They deserve to be managers..My favorite Savers location. read more

The store is good, the selection of clothing and household items is pretty amazing and really decent prices. But wow did I have a problem with an employee who claimed to be a manager. If so, super sucky customer service skills, lady! I was shopping with my sister and she had spent a LOT of money on clothes. As we were checking out, she saw a huge framed print, seemed to be a good quality product, and I convinced her to buy it. I had bought a piece of art from there recently and loved it, was very affordable. She wasn't sure it would fit in the space, so BEFORE buying, we asked the cashier if it was possible to RETURN it, meaning bring it back for a refund. The cashier said yes. Well, later. The print turned out to be a warped print that was framed in a plastic frame, with a scratched and also warped piece of glass in front of the picture, not even glass. Worst part, I found out that she had spent like $48 on it!!! It was complete crap. So I felt bad having convinced her to buy it, so I offered to return it for her. The lady that 'helped' me was so rude, completely treated me like I was an idiot, said no returns ever. I said we'll can I talk to someone else?? She said no. I said can I talk to he cashier, she was at such and such a station yesterday. She said no. She said she didn't know who that was. So I asked to talk to a manager. She said she was the manager. Basically, we had to spend $48 on the store within 7 days. And she even wrote ON the receipt that we had to go to THAT store and that the customer (me) had been informed. Like I was a complete idiot and couldn't understand English so it had to be drawn out for me, literally. Well my sister was so ticked off she refused to go back to THAT store, and we couldn't use the credit anywhere else, so. Out $48. And the worst part of whatever miscommunication or misunderstanding there had been, was that lady talking to me like I was a jackass. Didn't appreciate it. Won't be going back. This location still has the daily 50% off colors which is a big plus for me and the main reason I go to this one versus the one closer to me in avondale. Very good selection of clothes and housewares. Only downside its there are a lot of transients hanging around outside begging for money but not really Savers fault. read more

Today was my first time at this location. I generally prefer Savers over GW, because I've found I find more designer brands. This Savers has become one of my new favorites. I found a lot of designer brands that were in great condition. A brand new Under Armour sweatshirt retails for $55, I was able to get for $8, and it still had the tags. I'm a nursing student, so I don't have a lot of money to treat myself to the quality clothing that I used to be able to; but I can't complain for the deals that I got today! read more

I Went there today and was at the jewlery counter. I wanted to see the purses that were behind the counter. The girl behind the counter was VERY RUDE and would not let me see them because there was another customer at the counter who was just looking in the cases. The other customer was not asking to see anything in the cases she was just standing there looking. The rude girl behind the counter told me she was too busy helping the other lady (untrue) & that she needed to call someone else over to show me the purses. it made me so mad that I put back my purchases and left. read more

Okay, this store was busyyyy. For a Friday at noon, this place was packed! I managed to find something I've been looking for the last several months. I was at a thrift store in Utah and found an item that was missing a piece. I looked everywhere for that piece and even emailed the company that makes it (who never wrote back, BTW), but with no luck. Then, I happened to see this Savers on my way to a Goodwill, and there was the thing I was looking for, sitting on a shelf by itself. I thought that was cool. While browsing the rest of the store, I noticed there weren't any color tag promotions going on. I asked an employee if there was a color tag that was 50% off for the day and she said she "thinks it's yellow." I wanted verification so I asked the cashier when I was checking out and he told me they don't do color tags on Friday. No big deal, but for people like me who go hoping to score something with a color tag sale, it was a letdown. read more
