The book selection is why I came. I found 3 books so I was happy about that. Where I live, Savers has half off Monday so I was shocked to see that they did not do the same thing here in this state. I tried to buy the jewelry jar, which costs $70but was told I couldn't because it wasn't full. It was full to the top. I told the clerk that I would buy it even if it wasn't full, but she said I couldn't because it was store policy. This also happened with past jewelry department employees. Managers were no help. The prices here are outrageous. They were selling grocery store tea tins for $3.50. Pay a few dollars more at the grocery store and you can get a tea tin WITH tea bags. I normally shop here because the aisles are large enough to navigate a wheelchair but the man at the checkout may have been my final straw. He had an attitude with no patience or tolerance. I told him the glass jar I wanted to buy had no price. He promptly snatched it from my hands and said, " I cannot assess this for a price and I cannot sell it to you". And chucked it in a bin somewhere. Even if that's policy, there is a better way to have handled this. I guess I'll just go to Goodwill, which tends to be way cheaper anyway and they price on the spot. read more

Good 2nd hand store with eber changing items. Prices seemed a little high on a couple items so we steered clear of those. Did find a few things that were nice and peaked out interest so the trip wasn't a waste. We did find out the true meaning of those large poles attached to the cats. I thought it was so people could find you in the store, but no, it's too prevent the cats from leaving the store! The poles hit the top of the exit so it will not let you take the cart out. OK if you only have a couple items, but if you have a lot then it can be a problem. read more

They are usually nice but the 6/18 staff specifically the men we actually HORRIBLE like they gave me the nastiest looks over and over again breaking their necks to do so. This is my 2nd time being employed by this company. Management is extremely rude and up your butt. Production manager (Justin) talks down to all employees and use you to get task done and send u home early. I jist haf an incident whete i was in Mend and production manager threw a massive pile of donated clothes (nasty conditions) in my face and hot me in my eue. I did t report it cuz big boss woukdnt have my back anywho. So why bother. Manager Cindy complains if you talk like.. at all . Next thing u know boss is standing right next to u questioning you. The pay is cheap as they brag about how much money they make but can't treat thier employees and better. Place is filthy. They don't have you're back on ANYTHING. Don't get a job here. I love savers and they offer sale options and I have come across some great items, what I don't like about savers is that their prices have risen out of control, the staff if you need assistance pass the buck,so figure it out yourself! their bathrooms are beyond disgusting! find another place! if an item has no tag they will not sell it so I guess they rather hold on to it instead of walking to the back to put a price on it! the staff at the Manchester location could benefit from attitude training for sure! also would love to know what organization heartsprings supports from our donations? read more

Let's face it, if you've been to one Savers in the Northeast you've been to 'em all (and you can't seem to swing a dead cat in Connecticut without hitting one). So what's that mean? On the plus side: you get an excellent, well-organized book selection with a much wider variety of titles than your average Goodwill, lot's of shoes and sneakers and a plethora of weird little Hummel-type figurines, not to mention a wall full of salt and pepper shakers and silverware in little plastic baggies (though honestly this probably doesn't belong in the plus column, but whatever). On the other hand, nothing is cheap here and pretty much every Savers offers the same dull selection of highly-priced newish-looking clothing. Although the "light jackets" aisle in the women's section has been known to yield some pretty dope old lady windbreakers with sparkles or cats or that super ugly Versace chain print type stuff and let's be honest, you can't have too many of those. We stopped at this particular location on our way back from Massachusetts recently and I found a book on 'Psycho Geography' {sic} with Ralph Steadman illustrations and a pair of jeans with the crotch blown out. Admittedly, I waivered over purchasing the latter item, but decided to go for it. So not a total loss, but nothing to write home about either. read more

The prices are not quite what you'd expect from a second-hand store. The selection is pretty good, and it is a reasonably clean and orderly. But what is the point in going to a thrift store which doesn't offer particularly thrifty options? Even with Salvation Army's price increases, they are still cheaper. read more

I visit here frequently to look through the great variety and selection of kitchen goods - plates, pots, trays, jars, etc. The prices are typically very low, but I think can range depending on who puts the tags on that day. One time I got a set of 4 large special edition mason jars for $3 total, and the next week there were just single regular jars for $2 each (could get cheaper than that new). I got my porcelain China set here for a great deal! It was priced at $75 for 75 pieces that had a complete 12 place settings and got an additional 40% off for the deal that day! Have also gotten great deals on serving trays, placemats, and holiday decor here! ! We also found bowls that match our every day set here - 7 bowls for $4! Definitely somewhere to stop in every now and then to get a great find! Don't judge it on one visit - good deals go fast so visiting frequently is the best. read more

Not sure what people see in this place. Sheer volume may make it more appealing than some others, but otherwise it's no different than most thrift stores or Salvation Army stores. HOUSEWARES / ELECTRONICS - Selection screams swap meet leftovers, with most of the electronics being so dated or damaged they shouldn't be on the shelf. No one wants CRTs, VCRs or used inkjet printers. Esp the latter, as they most likely don't still work well...if at all. CLOTHES - The prices didn't seem all that great, but they're clearly way lower than buying new. As for selection, you may have a bit of luck if you have low expectations, and slightly more luck if you're a woman (like most thrift or used clothing stores, its 80% women/children's clothes), but it seems like the quality acceptance level is low as far as brands and level of wear. There are other used clothing stores in the area (or Marshalls) that I'd recommend checking out first. There were used, tattered wash cloths for sale. Seriously...SAVERS will accept apparently anything. read more

I love this store! Only gave four stars because of lousy signage to find it. One has to navigate through the Wallmart parking lot in order to find this store-did Wallmart not allow more directional signs to help find Savers? Perhaps a larger sign with-"past Wallmart" would help. Also, you can't take the carts to your car to unload, what if your purchase heavier stuff? This is the best laid out large thrift store yet, with plenty of diverse offerings, so definitely worth a trip. read more

Normally I enjoy this store, and have been going there pretty much since it first opened. But today, I am very disappointed. I was looking through the men's t-shirts, not close to anyone other person, and an employee came out of nowhere, shoved the line of t-shirts towards me to add more on the rack. She was also incredibly close to me, and I when I apologized (bc I felt bad for being in the way, even though I shouldn't have been the one to apologize) she completely ignored me with a scowl on her face. I never want to be in anyone's way, and understand things are very stressful at this time, I totally empathize with that, and try to be as polite and understanding as possible at all times. But this really made me feel bad, and like an inconvenience A simple 'excuse me' would have been all that I needed. read more

I have been to Savers with the Blancks lot of times since the store was grand opening in June 2009. Savers is one of my greatest stores ever to get great stuff there. This Manchester location is absolutely the best because it's closer and it's local. At Savers, We have Clothes, Books, Housewares, Movies, and other Stuff there at the great low price. Prices was Very Good, Atmosphere was Really Cool, and This store is absolutely much better than Junk stores with The Salvation Army. The Book Department was Really Cool, Movies was Very Good, Clothes was Great, Houseware was Cool, Furniture was Good, and other things for everyone who don't have the money for getting brand new stuff and then, getting used. I will coming back to Savers of Manchester very soon because it's an best thrift store around there because the place was really cool and I will shopped there only once a while. Never beat this and missed it especially for the fans of this place. Very Recommended. read more

I love savers and the people are usually very nice here but last night I went into the store and I asked if they had any masks because my 2 friends had forgotten theirs and the lady responded with "why don't you have your own we don't have masks just to give out to people" in a very rude tone. I've worked retail before and this is no way to talk to customers/guests. I didn't catch the employees name but it was very disappointing because I've been there so many times and it's usually a pleasant experience. read more

BUYER BEWARE: THEY NO LONGER HAVE FITTING ROOMS IN STORE. This means customers cannot try on clothing before buying and their return policy is very restrictive-- no returns on clothing, only store credit and within just 7 days days of purchase. I will no longer purchase clothing here. Really unfortunate for their customers who now have to take a financial risk with every clothing purchase. The sales associate at the register said this was due to COVID and that they have no current plans to replace the fitting rooms in the future. This is odd because they had them for the two years the pandemic was at its worst. read more

When I first came by this store I was convinced I would never set foot in it again for as long as I lived. I came on a Saturday and the place was an absolute zoo. There were people and things everywhere it seemed, lines down the aisles practically and the donation bin was overflowing. I stuffed my donations in and backed away slowly. I regularly get the urge to purge, however, so I risked my sanity and rolled on over about a month later with the beau and was astonished to find that -- at the right time this place is a goldmine. Not only is well stocked with finds for the whole family (not that I have a family) it is also clean and really well organized. I'm talking there's a section just for cardigans organized. Let me be clear. I hate shopping because it is always a nightmare finding what I'm looking for and then I have to part with my hard earned dolla bills y'all. Paying for trauma? Why don't stores organize with a mind for OCPD people? Well the last time I was this happy about a store's organization was the day I discovered Lord & Taylor's West Farms Mall dress shop. Although it is still more organized than Savers, I may never set foot in there again since now I can go to somewhere that's 80% as organized but 10% the price. WIN! I got a gorgeous Ellen Tracy black sheath dress (retails $110+), a fabulous yellow polka dot cardigan (perfect for a rainy day like today) and a cheapo Old Navy LBD all for $27. If you go in with a sale's rack mentality you too can have a serious shopping win. Not to mention how great for the environment (and your spirit) it is to give clothes a second life. I'm a big fan of thrift stores, so I was happy to finally hit up Savers. I was pretty amazed at the sheer size of the place; it's so big! I was with my best friend, and we must have spent close to a couple hours browsing around and trying on clothes. Their stock, like all the other reviews said, is hit or miss; however, that's to be expected seeing as they rely mostly on donations. I managed to find a cute summer dress, a pair of jeans, a pair of work pants, a couple props for a couple cosplay costumes I'm making, and some trinkets for my little cousin all for about $30! Pretty sweet deal! I learned they have half-price days, but I'd rather not go then, seeing as the store will probably be totally swamped.... Even when you go on regular days, shopping for stuff here is a steal. I definitely plan on going back to see if I can find more clothing/props for my cosplay outfits and some new exercise shoes. read more

I visited this location yesterday. I did find a pair of jeans from White House Black Market for $13. As I was looking around, a lot of the clothing was expensive for used thrift store clothing. I could find better deals at TJ Maxx. I was surprised that unless I purchased a paper bag, I would have to carry out my purchases without anything to put them in. I also purchased a gift card for my mom and Savers wanted $2 more for a paper gift card holder. Being that everything in the store is donated and its a FOR PROFIT company, why is Savers nickel and diming me? Needless to say, I will not be back and sticking to Goodwill. read more

Exactly like a Salvation Army or Goodwill super store, except (I believe) this benefits the Boys and Girls Town. Second hand everything, but clothing dominates the sales floor. Housegoods section is larger than at most of the aforementioned thrift shops, but then again, this entire store is huge to begin with! Right now, brand new Halloween costumes take up the front corner of the store closest to the door. Prices there are fair, but not spectacular. read more

I have to comment on the Management. I was in line during the busy lunch hour - a long line wrapping around the bend. The woman checking me out was kind and quick, but was working into their lunch break because they were short staffed. Two clerks for a never ending line. The manager, a young woman on duty, was there observing but would not jump in and help. Someone asked if she could just in and help to speed up the checkout and eventually get one of the gals on break. But no. She just slowly shuffled, slowly as if she had no care in the world. No concern for the time it was taking for the customers to get through. No concern for her co workers who were kicking ass in line and keeping things moving. It made me angry. She could be a problem solver and a team player. Instead, she shuffled along like it was a nice spring day on the beach,not a care in the world, floating on her management position. As someone else in line said "it's the way of the world now". Is it? And if so,why? Does she not care about the women in line because they are old? Is she oblivious? Or am I just wrong it was I observed. The store is well stacked with clothing. Decent prices. Maintained well enough. But that whole exchange really knocked the wind out of my sales. Too bad. Gotta agree with the other reviewers--its hit or miss. But ofcourse thats not their fault--their stock depends on what people in the area donate. The first time I went to this place about a year ago I found nothing and it sort of deterred me from going here for a while. However the other day I opened my closet and realized I had no warm weather clothes to wear to work (I have no idea what I wore last year, plus I was 20lbs heavier last summer). Due to a recent pay-cut in the family I had a limited budget and knew that even a trip to Target wouldn't get me enough to last the summer. So I decided to give Savers another shot. After the first rack I realized there was a better stock this time so I got a cart and just started piling stuff on it, I must have tried on around 40 garments--mostly nice tops for work, trousers and cardigan sweaters. I walked out with 21 items--including a new pair of Carhardt pants for my husband for ~$130. I'm set for the summer and probably the fall too. Now, I came a few days before Memorial Day and was kicking myself because they're having a 50% off day (on everything!) that day--they do this on several holidays. However I know that stuff goes fast--especially the good stuff, so a lot of the stuff I had bought might not have been there anymore, so I'm still happy about my haul, even if it was "full price" (in quotes because...$8 for an Ann Taylor top... is probably a 10th of retail) On the other hand I have donated to this store many times, as a relative recently passed away and left many household items to us. If you're interested in donating it is a very simple, hassle free process. You litterally pull up to the side of the building, ring the bell--and they take the stuff-maybe even right out of your car for you! We had so many things, I just didn't have the time or patience to even think about selling them--donating is the way to go if you're in a situation like mine. read more

Oh how I adore this store! Prom.dresses under $20 wedding dresses under $30 and on 50% off sales you can get 5-8 pairs of jeans and a few tops for under $25! I never leave empty handed from here and have even found rare collectables and antiques including China, jewelry, vintage purses, and original star wars figures still in boxes and mint condition! Only complaint is checkout always seems to be packed as well as the fitting rooms but for the prices can't complain! If I could give 10 stars I would!!! read more

I have been dieting and losing weight. Every time I go down a size I go to Savers to buy clothing. Yes it is hit or miss, but I have gotten great deals in there. I have also made lots of donations there. I find it to be better than the Goodwill and Salvation Army stores. Everything is arranged by size and there is a lot more selection. read more
