I've done some spring cleaning, and ended up with a number of items to donate to Savers today. I love that they give you a 20% off coupon for your next purchase as thanks for donating. The shelves were absolutely packed. There was a large crew of employees in the parking lot filling massive bins with drive-through donations. I'm not the only one doing spring cleaning. Today was not a lucky day for me, as far as Thrifting goes. But I will hang onto my 20% coupon for another day when I have a little more time to look around. read more

My wife and I use to like this store. Lately, I have noticed so many items ridiculously overpriced. A rusty generic 8 inch cast iron pan full of rust selling for a few bucks more than a brand new one. A small Teflon sauce pan, badly scratched, also selling for equal or more than a brand new one. The clothing is the same deal. They will go out of business if they don't start reducing their prices on basically junk items. read more

I made it into this Savers for the first time today. I'm a regular at the Savers in Tonawanda, and still prefer that store. This location is smaller, so the selection is not as bountiful as the Tonawanda store. But there is still plenty. It was a good time strolling the aisles and looking for treasures. I saw several chotchkies I almost bought, but have been trying to be more minimalist lately so ultimately said no. There was a great selection of curtains. When I make some measurements for some curtain needs I have, I'll try to come back to see what they have. One thing I love that Savers just started doing at apparently all of their locations is color tag sales. On orange tag day today, I snagged a pair of sweats for my son and a new phone case for my daughter for two bucks total. So there are deals to be had here for sure, even if the selection is less than Tonawanda. I might not make a special trip to this Savers, but when I'm around if I can sneak some time to come explore, I surely will. read more

That vintage store smell: this place doesn't have it which is a huge plus. Besides not having that musty, decaying smell, this Southtowns secondhand shop has a good blend of high- and low-end merchandise as well as a huge assortment of new Halloween costumes for some reason. The book section is a good, almost.....almost great. Buy 3 books and get one free is a daily deal. I snagged a "Sailing for Dummies" book that I had considered buying new on Amazon earlier this summer. Score! I'd also recommend the coat section (women's) for barely worn, stylish coats in all categories. I was quite impressed by the selection. While you're here at Savers, check out other nearby thrift stores on the circuit - like Goodwill and Amvets. read more

After spending time here this afternoon, I felt compelled to update my review. It's been probably 3 years since I've been here last, and I have one main complaint: fast fashion has RUINED the joy of thrifting. Today, I'd say about 60% of the clothing, shoes, & accessories are fast fashion. Wish, Alibaba, targeted social media ads that over promise & under deliver, all while scamming you - this is the majority of what is here. Just 3 years ago, the inventory here seemed to be so different. Real store brands. Fabrics that don't feel like cheap paper or plastic. Now, it's the cheapest crap... but with rising thrift store prices! Plus, any & all brands besides fast fashion crap are cherry picked, price jacked, & locked in a display case. I mean, $40 for well used Tory Burch flats... eh, ok maybe. But they are USED SHOES. And Savers is a corporation making millions (or maybe billions) of dollars from charging you & I $40 for used shoes. This just isn't fun anymore. As inflation hits us all, we can't even depend on finding inexpensive thrift treasures when need them most! I wandered here for a while, looked at most things. And left empty handed. I won't be back here any time soon. Maybe I'll try again in 3 years. Maybe. By then, I hope fast fashion will no longer dominate this store. Please please please resist the urge to purchase fast fashion. It's all garbage that's produced on the exploitation of humans in developing countries. And then it's donated & resold to feed capitalist corporate greed. We deserve better stock than this garbage, Savers! read more

I used to love shopping here. My only complaint was that some of the employees were rude. Haven't been there in well over a year and decided to stop in today. The store was clean but their prices have increased significantly. I found a shirt but it didn't have a price. They did the price check but it was $7.99. In my honest opinion, you're almost better off going to kohl's or JCP during a sale. At least at that point you can return something if needed. I've also noticed that they sell dollar store items for $3; what's up with that? read more

I feel like the same color blue is the one color that's always the 50% off Everyday! I didn't know who prices the clothing but, it's way to high. it use to be just the brand names were priced high now it seems like it goes but category long sleeves are all the same price. Pants all the same price. etc. like someone else said you could go to Kohls and Penny's pretty much anywhere else and find the same price for brand new items. I've returned to this place a number of times and have never left empty handed. Though the prices can be a little high for a thrift store - they are still much lower then regular retails and like I said - I never leave empty handed and therefore I always find some really great treasures. I am going to up my rating from three star to four stars because this location really deserved a higher rating. Savers is ridiculously high priced, they get everything donated, and they price it to high. The workers at the Seneca Mall store are rude, and they act like you're bothering them. Meh. As others said this is a "thrift store" for people who normally shop at the mall. Clothes are generally nicer (no crotch rot for example)- but pricey. I can walk into Walmart & Old Navy and pay the same for new items that they sell used. There are surprises sometimes like finding music books from the 1920s for 29 cents, but compare that to a cast iron pan that cost more used (and crusted over) here then the exact same pan would cost new at Macy's. I'll also add that in the craft department as well- a partially used skein of Red Heart Super Saver costs more then at the Jo-Ann's across the street. This is a for-profit store that purchases "the best" donated items from non-profit thrift stores, marks them up, and resells them. This means that the prices are not the lowest in the market--but it also means that the selection is generally a lot better. You're more likely to find current styles of clothing in good repair, for example. There's also a nice selection of books and movies that include more current titles. My favorite section of the store is the housewares, where vintage and newer styles collide in a well-merchandised display. There's a very small furniture section that sometimes offers an interesting find. My DON'T MISS section is toward the back of the store along the left wall. Here, there are little baggies of small items like vintage souvenirs, buttons, tools, craft supplies, Christmas items, school supplies--you never can tell what you might find. read more

The hubs and I went here to check out what Savers was all about. Overall the store is very neat and organized. All the merchandise is easy to find. We left empty handed this time. I for one, when I am going to thrift stores, I'm on a mission and I don't think this place will have what I am looking for, vintage stuff. By far one of my favorite places to shop. You can get about 3-4 shirts for about 20$, not too bad. Basically my entire wardrobe is from savers, they always have the largest selection of crazy, cool, and unique things, so you WILL find something that matches your exact style or personality fairly quickly. Whenever I have a few dollars to spend I always look forward to coming here, and I always drag my friends along to make them wear funny things so we can all get a good laugh in too. The prices here are outrageous. They have some really nice items especially in the home decor section, but some of the prices are comparable to buying brand new. They offer a huge selection of used and new Halloween items but the prices are about the same as buying at Party City. It's well organized and very clean, but it's not much of a "discount" store. read more

I came here with incredibly high hopes after hearing people talk this place up, especially its other US locations. At first entrance I was impressed - huge, clean, updated space with loads of clothes, books, bric-a-brac, shoes and some furniture/electronics. It is extremely well arranged and laid out, and employees were constantly circling putting things where they belonged and straightening up. However upon further investigation I was quite let down. - prices were overall too high; 90% of this stuff would have been a little to a bunch cheaper at any Salvation Army, Goodwill or Amvets. I am willing to pay a tad more if it is something unique or hard to find, but overall that wasn't the case. The housewares and bric-a-brac, usually some of the most reasonably priced stuff at average thrift stores, was very expensive. I saw vases, candle holders and dishes marked almost as high as they were new, and I'm not talking about rare vintage stuff either. I didn't see a single set of items actually marked as a set. For instance, a three set of owl knick knacks, ranging in size from 1.5 to 2.5 inches would end up costing about $12 because each piece had its own tag. Their book and children's movie selection was impressive, but $2 is steep for VHS considering most places don't even make VCRs anymore. I'm the only person I know who even has one except my parents. - pricing was random; I saw a No Boundaries (a brand carried at Wal Mat) skirt here for 12. Then I found a mint Vera Wang skirt for $6. What?? There seemed to be no rhyme or reason to the pricing at all; sure some label stuff was high, but there was also a lot of non-label stuff high (a no-name brand pair of pumps for $25, just because they were a current style) and the occasional namebrand/designer item weirdlly cheap compared to everything else. Plus sized clothes also seemed marked lower, which made no sense as I know people buy these a lot to use the fabric to make other things. Anything the slightest bit edgy or cool was double what the stuff around it was and the more average of a size it was the more expensive it was as well. Lame. - poor selection; I usually can't leave a big thrift store like this without picking up 20 or 30 pieces of clothing - I am a bargain shopper with a ridiculous wardrobe and I constantly rotate stuff out to sell online. I came out of here with maybe 10 pieces, if you include a coat and pajamas. Their clothes were largely geared towards a very bland, 35+ dress style with almost nothing for younger folks and even less funky stuff. Vintage/retro was completely non-existent except the hideous jumpers & Golden Girl style dresses from the 80/90's you are seeing at all these stores right now. I did manage to find a nice vintage choker, but of course it was double what it would have been at Amvets. They had a decent selection of very funky plastic necklaces and bangles, but wanted as much or more than I see the stuff for new at teeny bopper stores that specialize in those type of items. Again, I'm not talking vintge for most of this stuff either; I'm talking I found an Avon bracelet my mom bought me (in a three piece set for like $8) marked $3 here. I did get a very nice houndstoothed overcoat and a pair of over the knee faux suede boots here that were high quality for okay prices, but overall I was very disappointed with what my bill came to for the tiny amount of stuff I got. A lot of their clothes did not match sale prices at regular stores and couldn't touch other thrift shops. I realize this is a for-profit store, not a charity only shop (although they do "donate" to charity by buying donated items from them, per their website) but if you want to compete in a market like this you need to either have competitive pricing OR superior selection. They had neither. I regularly find more funky or in fashion, name brand stuff at the Amvets in West Seneca than I found here by far, and even though I'm not a label person I definitely don't like paying 80% of the cost that I know something was new when it isn't an expensive brand. I will check this place out again just to use my 30% off cards - they give you a shoppers card like the laundromat where you get a stamp for every so much spent. My bf and I spent so much on our tiny hauls that we got two whole cards filled plus part of another one. This is a sanitized version of a real thrift store designed to make mall shoppers comfortable. read more

They're super overpriced, everything they have is donated and they got it for free so for them to price their stuff that high is just ridiculous. On top of that the employees are extremely rude, talking about customers and all. You don't get a smile or a "hello" from anybody in there. I go there almost every day because I drive by it in the way home from work. It is OK at best but a lot of stuff is insanely overpriced, just because someone on eBay is asking $50 for some vintage board game doesn't mean it's worth that. Check the completed listings, theirs didn't sell and that's why it sits there for weeks. Costume jewelry is costume jewelry, much of what they sell isn't worth what they ask, same deal, if Amvets down the road has it for $1.98 you're not going to get $25 just because someone has it listed for that. All this does is prevent the merchandise from rotating quickly, so you see the same stuff for days on end. Used to be better. read more

Savers, if you are unaware is a thrift store, which, evidently also sells new items, like Halloween costumes, which is what lured me in there. Nothing like a bargoon,however, eww. Sadly, it has been years since I have ventured into a thrift store. I imagined browsing lots of vintage leather jackets, circa 1974, or jeans that were worn perfectly, like a nice pair of Sassoon's, trying to reclaim my mid-90's rebellious youth who shopped thrift stores for my flannels and Doc Martins. No such luck here. What I found were a lot of dirty, wrinkled, late 2008 cheapies. Cheap is good, but I prefer it laundered. I imagine I would have had better luck, and a cleaner atmosphere, at a garage-sale. And the Halloween costumes, well, if you think spending $48.00 is a deal, well, go for it. read more

I like savers a lot and come here all the time. They constantly have new stuff coming in. The story is clean, organized, and well-lit. When I was furnishing/filling my new first apartment I found a lot of my stuff her: kitchen stuff, furniture, bar accessories etc. I even found some artwork. They run a lot of promotions so if you want extra discounts check their website. Personally I feel that the prices are pretty good so I don't usually worry about coming on specific days. The only complaint I have is that the clothes can be a little more expensive that I'm use to paying at a thrift store. To be fair though, they are generally in better condition and may be a little more modern than your typical grandmother's closet. read more

Waited in line for 45 minutes with my son yelling, finally got to the counter, she tells me I need to go to the end of the next line because she's going to close. I obviously looked upset, as my son was not going to last through another long line, and everyone working just looked at me. I called and asked to speak to the manager after leaving and she responded with "oh." and not much else. I have never seen costumer service so bad. read more

I have been to many Savers Thrift Stores or Value Villages and I have to say this specific Location was Super Overpriced and Tiny! $40 for a used stained sweatshirt or $50 Jerseys that were dirty! The $20 dollar sweat filled hats were even more laughable. I wonder if you know that you can go to Lids or New Era and buy new or even on sale for that much. Don't waste your time, money or effort on even driving to this place. read more

Quality, style, and condition of women's clothes was poor. Most brands were low end and clothes looked and smelled used. Was the second time I went, with same results - won't be back! Other thrift shops (Amvets, Goodwill) have more on trend designers at half the price. read more
