The store was beat but the staff left little to be desired. I left with nothing but found it odd when a guy who bought a cart full of things wasn't offered a bag. Nice, well organized and clean. Plenty of parking. The employees were all very friendly. They have a wide variety of items with clothing being the biggest (not surprising). Didn't see much in the way of Bills football, probably because most people in the region wear this stuff until it disintegrates. They are very loyal fans! read more

I haven't been in this store since it moved to the current Latin, so it has been a loooong time... it is well arranged, mostly clean but it smells terribly musty from all the old stuff... I wore a mask and the angel came through immediately... some patrons and staff were donning masks and some were not. I was looking for something in particular and was actually able to find it... so yay! The prices have gone up and while my item was not expensive, it wasn't the super cheap thrift store find I was hoping for... The dressing rooms were open for trying on and they were semi neat... there were some clothes still hanging in them and a stray hanger or two but I didn't feel grossed out... I would go back to find items of need, but probably not any time soon as the musty smell really bothers me... read more

This is an ok Goodwill. I come here fairly often as we look for new DVDs to watch. Their selection is ok. It's easy to see so that's nice. And across from Delta Sonic where I am often, so it's easy for me. Is only ok because I feel like it's gotten more expensive under Covid. Which is weird as I'd think with all the extra donations coming in because everyone is stuck at home cleaning out basements, they wouldn't raise prices. Maybe even lower them to move things out. Don't get me wrong, I don't think they are expensive generally. And I don't know for sure they raised prices but it feels like that. Easy parking. 3800 read more

First, note that the address is now 2625 Delaware Ave - looks like they moved, but it's just the next block over. Would be nice if there were better signage at the old location redirecting people! The new building has a strong mold smell inside, so if you're sensitive to that or have allergies, be aware. Even with a good face mask on, my throat was sore when I left (I have severe allergies). This is a decent place for treasure-hunting, although I wouldn't choose to hang out and spend a whole afternoon, probably just keeping it on my list when I am seeking specific items. I found some nice picture frames that were much lower prices than what Amvets had; books have a decent selection but are all $2 (or 3 for $5) which is higher than I was hoping. There was some nice decor but priced higher than I think they should be. So, some good stuff, some good prices, some less-good prices. There were no cashiers at the desk and I had to wait a while for someone to notice me standing there - seems understaffed if the cashiers have to go do floor stuff too. I debated between three stars and four stars but went with four stars considering the reason why I go to this Goodwill is for their wide selection of books. I always hear about people finding these amazing outfits from thrift shopping but I never seem to find anything, I guess I don't know how to pop some tags with only twenty dollars in my pocket. But between the coffee cup selection and book selection, one of these typically just jump out at me. If you're looking for a book, make the Goodwill your first stop destination. There are typically several copies of titles you've actually heard of and are interested in. And of course, it's the Goodwill, prices are reasonable! Selection of merchandise is not enough to fill the mammoth space. Once touted as the largest Goodwill store in New York State, it only refers to the actual square footage of the place. And it's worse since they remodeled. The "furniture" section is just a pile of random pieces thrown into one spot. Half of it doesn't even have price tags on it. Staff is rude and dismissive. The manager is quite possibly the most abrasive, brusque, curt person I've ever met in retail. She clearly hates her job. And the prices are unrealistically high. Lots of Dollar store stuff marked for $3 and more. Go to Amvets instead. read more

This is my favorite goodwill in Buffalo--always clean, organized, super friendly staff, and with a sizable array of items. The women's clothing section always has some gems and probably half my closet is filled with stuff from here. Book selection is also pretty good, as is the decor. I rarely go here without finding anything I want to buy, which I can't say of all the thrift/consignment stores in the area tbh. read more

I must be lucky with thrifting at this location. SO MANY BRAND NAMES and designer names - at great prices. I probably come here at least once a month and end up walking out with 20 items under $50! For one - all of the employees are helpful and feel like family. They are super welcoming when everyone walks in and is skimming through the selection. Plus they have helped me find items. They keep it real and organized. I always seem to rotate the racks a few times when I am in and find new items. Such a wide selection for women, men and children. I've found Coach and Fossil bags here for under $7 - literally the best. They're still in decent condition for daily wear and travel - which I enjoy a LOT. Worth the shot to stop in for a few minutes - you'll never know what you'll find in here. Great mix of LOFT and other more modern brands with a mix of vintage brands. Pro-tip: Go in the morning or mid-day as the racks tend to be rotated more. They also have a color of the week that is 50% off and clothing items with the colored tag are $1 on Saturdays. Definitely a bargain and diamond in the rough for a thrift store in North Buffalo. read more

I had some things to drop off and figured I'd stop in and check out the wares while I was there. I was pretty pleasantly surprised with what I found! Don't go in with any wacky or wild expectations about a zillion diamonds in the rough, but I was definitely able to find a few nice items at really great prices. The thing I appreciated the most about this Goodwill location was how clean and well organized the place was. When this type of thrift store is dirty and smells musty and has items strewn all over the place, it really doesn't inspire much trust in the quality of the items there. This Goodwill is one of the nicer of this type of thrift store that I've been to for this reason. I walked away with a few cute work dresses as well as a nice fall jacket, for about $25 total. Obviously their wares are constantly changing and dependent on what gets donated, but I came across more than a few very gently used items from Loft, Calvin Klein, Talbots, etc. Will definitely stop back occasionally to try to fill out my closet with more work dresses, since I'd much rather pay $7.00 for a very lightly used one here than $30-40+ for a nice one from TJ Maxx or elsewhere. It could be hit or miss if you find items that you like, but the savings are worth it to me! read more

I still remember when this new location opened about a year or two ago and it was ahhhh-maaaazing! The store was unbelievably neat & clean; the racks were organized by color and size, there were plenty of employees working, and you could always find amazing merchandise. They even had little air fresheners everywhere to combat that thrift store smell. Whenever you walked in, you were consistently greeted with a huge hello and it just made for such a welcoming environment. Mannn, has this store fallen from glory. I've noticed recently that the store has gotten messy; the racks looked ransacked and there is always merchandise on the floor. But today? It was really depressing. There was only one poor girl working by herself (who was very sweet & polite); the store was an absolute mess and it just wasn't a pleasant shopping experience. And the carpet? You would think this was a car repair shop before a thrift store; the carpet was sooo nasty and stained. It's really unfortunate; I used to come here weekly and now I just don't see the point. Not sure if it's a management issue or if they've just had problems with staff retention. I sure hope things change for the better! read more

This review is for their new store across the street from Target. The space and lighting are great; unfortunately, the logic of how they arrange their clothing completely escapes me. I was hoping they would start sorting by size and not color. Sorting by color means you go through each rack, piece by piece, only to find something potentially useful and realize it's not your size. Women's sizes are usually small, medium, large and extra large. That means there is only a one in four chance of my finding something in my size in any color category. I find that a complete waste of time. So much so, I will not shop there. To make them even less appealing, they increased their prices. For example, women's tops are now $5. The Am Vets on Elmwood is far superior, and they are generally, at least, 25% cheaper. In addition, every time I shop there I get a coupon that's good for ten days after my purchase. It saves $4 on a bill of $15 or more. I find the people at that Am Vets very friendly, which adds to the positive experience. read more

This used to be my favorite place to thrift! I'd bring tons of my friends here to do some thrifting BUT the last few times I've been in there the prices are INSANE! $30 for used sunglasses , $50 for a vintage fur stole , $44 for a beat up coach! The store was pretty empty compared to recent months. I'm very disappointed. Prices are outrageous and very little on the shelves. I love the workers as they are always nice but I wouldn't recommend coming here if your looking for a deal. Unless of course you want vintage skis for $100 then this is your place! I can shop retail or consignment/ clothes mentor for the prices they are asking. Sad but at least they are not the only thrift in the the area! read more

I am a self-proclaimed thrift store junkie and this is one of my favorite locations, although it is a bit small. Their parking lot is absolute garbage and it makes donating a bit of a hassle. I recommend going at an unusual hour or consider parking across the street. Im surprised there havent been a million accidents here. BUT, aside from that, you can find some really great stuff here. Im guessing it has to do with the location in North Buffalo/Kenmore. Mostly ive had luck with furniture, and they are incredibly generous with their prices. I got a beautiful vintage wooden chest for only $20, and a leather chair for $7. I love bragging that theyre thrift store finds when people see my living room! Their book selection is extremely well-organized, as well as their grouping of "knick knacks" (by color!) I dont like their clothes as much, although I did find a really great 1993 Bills sweatshirt once that I wear almost daily. You can get lucky every once in a while and find a priceless gem (like my Michael Kors heels I got for $5!) but go for the furniture! read more

If you are looking for something specific, start here, then go to Amvets if you don't find it. This Goodwill store is considerably smaller than Amvets and thus does not offer quite the selection. However, it is extremely organized. Clothing is sorted by men or ladies, then category (pants, skirts, blouse, etc.), then by color (yes, sorted by color) and size! It's very easy to run in and find quickly if they have what you need. As Diana noted, their furniture, bric-a-brac and shoe selection is limited. read more

The new store is a really nice upgrade and much larger. The place is mildly messy but no worse than any other thrift store (people are jerks in terms of putting stuff back on the hangers, etc and I can't always blame workers for this). Not a stenchy, dirty place as some thrift stores quickly become, not that that would deter me. I've also gotten spoiled going other places, because I forgot how much really worn merchandise they put on the racks at Goodwill - really faded, nubbly, stretched out stuff. Plus a lot of the basic stuff is up to $5 base (more if it's name brand or fancy). I can get new sweats on sale for $5, why would I pay $5 for some ten year old ones with shot elastic? So yeah...a bit bummed on that, but I get it cost of overhead goes up. The coats were still really affordable (got a trench with the tags still on it for $189 for $9, a fall Guess coat for $15 and a floor length suede hooded vintage coat with faux fur lining for $10). My biggest issue is with service. I went to spend a gift certificate once. Not a single employee knew how to put it in. They messed around with it for 20-30 minutes, made phone calls to supervisors, etc before I gave up and just paid for my items. Not the end of the world, but annoying. The most recent time I went, the store wasn't closing for an hour. Now, I worked in retail for years - the store closing at 8pm doesn't mean you go home at 8. It means you do what you can to clean up early, but you deal with the fact that - yes - the store is still open and people are going to shop and - yes - you will have to do some things after they leave and you lock up. As soon as I walk in I hear a woman loudly complaining about more people coming in (there were already maybe 6-8 people shopping). This set the stage for a non-stop string of complaints from several of the way-old-enough-to-know-better employees about how all of the shoppers were basically terrible people because THEY NEED TO GET HOME, etc etc. Over and over. For over a half hour. Including them pushing past people to pick up or arrange things. The one lady stood in my way for probably five minutes because she was picking up some things and had me backed in a corner. She looks at me, sneers and says "well, I'm not trying to be in your way but I have stuff to do. I'm not staying here all night." Oooookay. Or you could just take ten seconds to let me out of the corner and keep doing what you're doing. Mind you, I was just standing there calm faced saying nothing, and she still felt the need to snip at me. Then 20 minutes before close, a woman comes from the back that I assume from her attire/demeanor was a manager. She says the store is closing in 20 minutes and people should be sure they have their purchases up to the front in 15 minutes. Then she disappears into the back again. Fair enough. I try not to be that still-shopping-while-the-store-is-literally-closed person that my mother is. But within two minutes the two older women start loudly, nastily repeating the same thing to the shoppers and then one of the women starts walking from customer to customer telling us we need to go to the register NOW because they need to close. One elderly lady asked "oh, I need to go up now?" She was confused since the (possibly) manager had just told us something different. "NO NOW" the employee returns. THEN THEY START SHUTTING LIGHTS OFF with 18 minutes to close. My ass would have been fired for any of this behavior when I ran a store but okay... So I go up to the register and the woman ahead of me is reviewing some of the things in her cart. She didn't immediately notice the person ahead of her was done ringing out. One of the same older women is now at the register helping bag. She loudly, snottily tells this woman "NO, NO, IT'S TIME TO GO NOT TO BE LOOKING AT CLOTHES. I NEED TO GET HOME. IT'S TIME TO GET YOUR STUFF AND GET OUT." Holy crap. The poor woman just looks at me and makes this sort of shocked, embarrassed face and starts putting her stuff on the counter. I could tell from the customer's accent that Spanish was her first language but her English wasn't hard to understand. The older woman acted like she was completely unintelligible. Kept being like "WHAT?!" really loudly and mumbling stuff to herself. To her credit, the cashier - a teens to early 20s girl - was very sweet and professional. But the whole rest of the experience was just terrible. I get it. You want to go home. Everyone at work does. You still do what you need to do to keep your customers happy within reason and you certainly don't complain in front of them. These ladies really don't seem to like or want their jobs and unfortunately they're deterring customers. It's too bad because I always thought the staff at the old location seemed nice, so I don't know if I never encountered these folks or what. read more

It's hard for me to judge compared to other Goodwills or thrift stores in this specific area, I'm going to judge it compared to other Goodwills I've encountered from where I was before I moved. This could be subject to a reevaluation on my part if this is more of the norm in this area. I found this particular Goodwill to be a little on the subpar side, from the cramped parking lot (that was actually out of spaces because people didn't really park properly) to the somewhat disorganised way the clothing was arranged. There were different racks of sweaters in different areas of the store, and the selection overall seemed a little lacking. read more

Hardbacks are $2.50; paperbacks, $1.50. They have a classics section, general fiction (organized by author!) and an "award winners" section, along with biography, business, self-help and more. It's a new/updated store, so its pretty clean in there! Not a great fan of just color coordinated racks with no size indicators. I just don't have that kind of time in this life. BUT I got three pairs of American Eagle skinny jeans for $15! Yes that's right $15!!!! They do a color of the day and that day it was the color purple. Everything with a purple tag was half off. GUYS, more like GREATwill. This particular location recently moved a few doors down from their old spot on Delaware and they took the move as an opportunity to change things for the better. Clothes are organized really well (type, then color) and are priced by type. All long sleeved women's shirts: $5. All short sleeves women's shirts: $4. Really handy if you like to keep a running total in your head. There's really good selection of clothes and tchotchkes, the book and shoe selections are a little lacking compared to the nearby AmVets on Elmwood. The customer service is excellent. Every employee I passed said hello to me without hovering around me. The guy at the checkout found a hole in a dress I was buying, asked me if I still wanted it, and when I told him I would just mend it, he gave it to me for free! My favorite feature is that the dressing rooms have what are basically fun house mirrors. They make you look taller (and therefore skinnier, but personally, the height is what I'm a fan of). It may sound deceptive but it's not like that stretch effect will make it look like the clothes fit you when they don't. Also, I'm warning you about it now. So just go in there knowing you've got the mirror equivalent of a photo editing app in front of you, look at your already slammin' self looking just a little taller and feel great with that image of yourself in your head all day. read more

I love thrift stores and this seems to be one of the best. They consistently have great books...however, the best place for housewares is the Goodwill in West Seneca. The one out on Transit in Lancaster has the best furniture. And the seem to price their merchandise better at that location. read more

My grandma has been going here since I was a little girl. I used to be sooo embarrassed as a young girl being dragged in here. Hid behind racks and my grandma so people wouldn't see me. Boy was I silly. As I grew up I learned to appreciate this place. Vintage items cheap good quality stuff. Really gotta search around for the hidden gems. read more
