With my favorite thrift store out of commission, I have the tedious task of finding a new second hand heir to the throne. Today I decided to brave the dreaded left hand turn on Eggert to test my luck in Tonawanda. This place is wider than my old haunt, so points for quantity. Everything is sorted into catergories, yet I took the time to stroll through all the racks. Generally when I shop clothes I look to see if anything catches my eye instead of leafing through, especially if it has the color tag of the day. This store makes the plastic tether colored as well in case any of the tags accidentally get removed. Blue was the chosen child, at 50% off, and I found a few pairs of pants to try on, along with a sweater. You have to get permission to use the locked fitting rooms here. The peppy register girl let me in to a small room with the full length mirror on the door, a chair and a few wall hooks. I didn't have enough booty to fill the pants, and while they offer a returns rack, I took them back myself as I was passing through to get to the rest of the store. In the back they have housewares. I passed on a Mickey Mouse alarm clock (aesthetically great, but who uses analog these days?) and considered grabbing one of their numerous mugs (only second in bounty to the playpen of stuffies up for adoption) before just settling on the sweater that I had picked out. At the register I was pleased to find that my total came to three dollars and change. Sure, thrift stores are not as cheap as they used to be, and my change was rounded because pennies have been eliminated, but if you scour the racks you may find a great deal, used, or even new. They say one man's trash is another man's treasure, and I may have found a doubloon, but I'm still looking for the ultimate bounty. read more

This is by far the best GoodWill in the Northtowns. It is neat and clean, and not picked over by hipsters. The staff is also the friendliest I have come across, as well. I am both an antiques collector and thrifter, and it is hard for me not to spend $100 every time I pop my happy little self in here. Consider this our little secret. read more

Well I will start by saying I do find things at Goodwill, but they keep raising their prices. I don't want to pay $6 for a used t-shirt. They are almost as bad as Savers now. Just go to Amvets or Salvation Army, larger selection with fair prices and frequent discounts and sales. read more

The location is clean with plenty of parking. Colin was so friendly to all the customers and it was honestly the first time I've ever been inside of a goodwill and heard a worker greet the customers as they entered and exited. He was also going around asking if he could help anyone find anything. Great customer service from Colin :) read more

It's almost unfair to write a review right now when over the half the business is currently under construction, but this is to help those that visit within the next few months. As I mentioned, the location is being worked on. It's a huge property and at the moment it's beyond cramped. Maybe four rows of racks plus walls covered head to toe. They still had some good jems, but prices were wildly thought out. We snagged two 25 lb kettle bells for $15. That's a great deal. But then looking at picture frames, some were $7? Nothing fancy, definitely overpriced. There's definitely not enough help. Only saw one worker. She was sorting things on the floor while balancing the register. She was super sweet. First and foremost: my sisters and I are Buffalo sports fans from Pennsylvania, so this was our stop for Sabres and Bills stuff. In that sense, this Goodwill totally delivered. However, we're also from, well, middle of nowhere Pennsylvania, and our go-to Goodwill down there is one with the bins that you can sort through and pay by the pound. Definitely cheaper there, although that was expected. Find a bin store if you can (and if you have the time to sort through all the clothes on your own). Fun surprise was that some of the stuff was half off -- one of the colors on the tag, I think orange? Although I didn't know that going in and didn't see it advertised anywhere what color the day was (but I didn't know to look for it, so maybe there was a sign or list somewhere). We stayed in the clothes sections so I don't have anything to say about the electronics/books/various knick-knacks. Where else are you going to find Sabres shirts for $5? We came, we bought, we'll probably be back again next time we come visit our grandmother. read more

Stopped by this location for the first time and had a great experience! We were looking for items to be used for wedding decorations, and found a set of 12 mini glasses for $5. Perfect condition, great deal! The store was decent sized and had a lot of clothes, and books too, including a dedicated section of "for dummies" books. Not my favorite Goodwill. Girlfriend and I stopped buy to donate some things and find children's books for her classroom. The donation door was locked and it took me forever to figure out which person was the employee. Once I figured it out, she was very nice. Girlfriend didn't find any great finds, except for a few games. Store was very dirty and lacked a lot of the nice stuff that I have found at Amvets. read more

I really enjoyed this Goodwill in comparison to the other one I've been to in Buffalo. This one is nice and large, with well placed and clean changing rooms. It also has a nice selection of clothes, I found several quality labels of clothing here. This is my go-to Goodwill when I have a hankering to pick up some "new" clothes. read more

I just love this location. It is kept clean and tidy and well stocked usually. You never know what you will find but there are always treasures. I have yet to leave here empty handed and usually have to haul quite a bit out. Lots of parking and conveniently located right off of the freeway. I'm totally a fan! read more

Nothing to find here but junk, they take the good items people donate for misfortunate people to have and sell it online for their maximum profit. Nothing good ever seems to hit the floor, a lot of broken stuff and toys they can't sell online. Go to Savers where they actually put the good items on the floor. read more
