I had a really disappointing experience with one of the employees at this thrift store named Bonnie. Thrifting is supposed to be fun and welcoming but this particular employee was extremely rude and unprofessional. From the moment I asked a simple question, they responded with attitude, seemed annoyed and acted like helping customers was a burden. Customer service makes a huge difference, especially in a place that depends on the community. A little kindness and basic respect would go a long way. Instead, I was left feeling uncomfortable and honestly didn't even want to continue shopping. I hope management addresses this because no customer should feel disrespected for simply trying to shop. Tired of the nasty disrespectful jewelry employee, I believe her name is Bunny , she wears wears a hat. She is beyond nasty , if she is that unhappy there why is she working there? I was looking for some jewelry for my teenage niece, I was very undecided and was asking to view some items. This lady proceeded to slam the doors and slam down a pair of earrings on the counter I wanted to see. I told her there is no reason to treat a customer like that. She did not seem to care what I felt. I did not purchase any jewelry from her and will not anymore. I shop in this store often, love the display of jewelry they have. This was not the first time I have been treated like this from the same employee. I have spoke to your front managers , as have many other customers about her attitude and nothing changes. Shame on Savers for allowing their workers to treat customers like that. I will no longer purchase any jewelry while that employee is present. I am in LOVE with this place. I met up with one of my friends here and fell in love with it. I'm used to having the Salvation Army and other small places that barely had anything. There is more to get from here. What is love is the fact that when you donate, you get a coupon for 20% off. That's what I got the first time I donated. It's about 20 minutes away from me, which I definitely won't donate every day, but I don't mind going out there once or twice a month to donate. That's if I have the items. I have told total strangers in my neighborhood about it and how much more stuff there is to chose from. There are multiple registers open, but you have to check yourself out. Which I don't mind that much. I went on a Sunday once and it was busy. But then again I've always went when there wasn't that many people. I've found so many things that I definitely will use. A few things I've found were cast iron molds for the holidays, which I have been starting to become a baker within the last year or so. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The place is disorganized. I brought a bag of clothes to donate outside, and I was handed a coupon that is photocopied. It looked like a bootleg copy of a coupon. I brought it inside and when I was checking out I tried to scan the coupon and it didn't work. I asked for help and the person at the front said they have to manually input the coupon for the photocopied versions, which takes a lot longer to get help from the store worker who has to manually put in each number-this is a big time waster. Why don't they have the regular coupons? I was told they "haven't gotten them in yet and it's been a month since they had the regular [non-photocopied] coupons". While checking out I wanted to exchange a shirt I bought at a different Savers. You can exchange your items if you provide the proper receipt. I asked for assistance again and I was told, "We don't accept exchanges." What? I was told at other locations that they do. I called the store when I got home to ask about the exchanges, only to be told, "Yes, we accept exchanges with a receipt." Are you kidding me? Get your story straight. i went in today and was surprised at how high the prices are! for reference i got a brand NEW pair of jeans from Target a couple of weeks ago for $8 (clearance) and Poppi new sweatpants (so the brand is very stylish and cute) for $6 (also clearance). For a thrift store prices are high. I found that if I am willing to put an extra $1 or $2 can go to a retail store and buy practically same shirt or pants brand new. When my husband went off to our local Goodwill with a carful of clothing and household items, he discovered that it had closed down, so he ended up in the Costco in Patchogue, where a friend he ran into told him there's a "great" charity right next to the Costco lot. Without first checking on their status as a nonprofit (which they claim to be), he unfortunately gave it all to the man at Savers. The Yelp website correctly lists them as a FOR-profit group that sells the items donated in their stores, discards an undisclosed amount of items, and donates an unspecified amount (presumably quite small) to an unidentified "charity". Having read the other Yelp reviews, I'm very disappointed we gave them anything and will never do so again. Went to look for a dress for my daughters play.... 10 minutes before closing and one staff member is literally yelling at shoppers with a hanger in her hand telling shoppers to get on line to pay. 5 min later she comes around with the same hanger, screaming at shoppers that the store is closed, and wouldn't move or stop staring at shoppers until they moved towards the cash register line.... To wait standing on line.... If I could give this place a zero I would but the other employees deserve credit for their help, and organizational skills. read more

I like savers a lot bc they send coupons via email, have a rewards program & give you coupons when you donate to them (why would I donate anywhere else?), so what's not to love!? I wish these stores were in Nassau county bc we are severely lacking thrift stores (there is 1 savers, but it's not in the best area & it's just a weirdly configured, dumpy store compared to this location). As I wrote for another thrift store, sometimes I come to savers & leave with nothing, sometimes I leave buying a lot. Sometimes I find wild bargains, sometimes I wonder if the pricing person was drinking on the job (perhaps marked up due to the area/coupons?). Unlike the thrift store up the block, savers sells jewelry & actually has merchandise in their display cases. Overall, employees are decent & if there is a line, usually moves quick. Now, for the issues... Even before covid, the parking lot has had a lot litter in it. Considering the area/the appealing flowered turn in by Skechers off Jericho turnpike, it's almost shocking the parking lot of this place is so unkempt. Since covid, the inside of this store has gotten really... unclean (I should've taken a picture of what the cart area looked like when it was only half full). Some basic sweeping really goes a long way. Can someone please donate a broom with a pick up part & maybe a mop bucket? What's really crappy: a visit or 2 ago, I saw all the fitting rooms were removed. They've been closed since covid... since they were closed/now removed, it really limits what I can buy in terms of clothes bc I don't live close by & maybe make it out here once or twice a month. Please see the attached picture from my last visit last Sunday (9/26). Who is in charge of this store that thinks that kind of merchandising is ok!? We visit a few times a year. Donate then browse store. My hubby and me have found some cool stuff. We're very nostalgic (b. '66 & '67) and love finding donated items that speak to our generation or are made in America (sadly, now a rarity). Regularly buy used saucer plates (sold as sets costing $3-$5 each). Use them to feed my 3 cats. Love feeding them on china or other fancy plate. Inevitably a few will break over time. I go to store and restock. They always have them. The workers at the register are very sweet and helpful. However the women stocking the shelves are not. Had several of them shove past me without so much as an "excuse me." One of them physically pushed me out if the way as she walked behind me. You can be as rude and unfriendly as you want but don't touch me. Seriously. This is one of my favorite stores. Everytime i stop in, there is always something that catches my eye. I have found some really great clothes or shoes (even fancy brand names) for such an amazing price. The condition of the clothing is great for 2nd hand. As a mom of 3, my kids also find a lot of great clothes and even books. I feel like this store has something for everyone. They are always putting out new items so you never see the same stuff. I had some things to donate and figure I would come and check out this store as well. I was sad to see how high the prices where. Then I wonder what they did with the items they don't sell. Because there was allot. They told me they send it over seas! There is a huge documentary about how the Companies like this, Goodwill, Salvation Army are ruining the eco system of these other countries. Because they dump the cloths they get, it is coming up n at such large quantities they can't do anything with it. So when I found out they where doing this I was saddened by it. I love a good thrift store because I love a good bargain but this savers is a little janky. It's definitely more pricey, to me, than other thrift stores. There was a terrible smell that got stronger in certain areas but definitely did not leave completely no matter where I stood. Not sure I'll really be back unless I need something cheap for my kitchen or something, seeing as they had a pretty large section of household goods. Gave it two stars because after enduring the horrid stench 20 minutes I finally got lucky and ended up buying an ASOS jacket for 17 bucks. read more

Takes advantage of customers, tells you to leave your stuff there, will take about 5 hours to go through, so my daughter said ok I'll be back tomorrow, on receipt he gives you it says you have to pick up clothes or accept the offer or the clothes get donated it was a 50 minute ride for my daughter to go back so I called and said I will pick up the clothes after work I'm 15 minutes away I can take a picture of receipt, owner says she has to come in and show identification, this is how they scam you into leaving your belongings there, he should have TOLD my daughter she needs to pick up clothes same day or you lose them! I stop here occasionally (usually once every two weeks). Today I decided to donate a printer. It was a HP scan, print, copy, fax machine. The guy in the store refused to take it. Without even looking at it He said it was too old. I was so angry i tossed it in what i thought was the garbage. He followed me and said it was not a garbage bin it was a donation bin, and again said that he could not take it. I took it back but then I went back again and saw him again. I told him the item was only four years old it in perfect working condition except it doesn't work with Apple software but works fine with windows. Only when I asked to see the manager did he accept the item. Considering that the printer is in better condition than most of the hardware I've seen in the store, I was amazed that this young inexperienced person would refuse a donation. if Savers is getting less donations and the store seems unusually sparse, it's not just bc of the economy, or bc of low staffing to put things on the floor. It's in part because they charge retail prices for items that are donated (aka used) like the jewelry, and donors of items whom also shop in the stores get pissed off with the high prices even with the coupons. When you donate items (like give them away for free), you expect the prices to be fair (the thrift shop way) on the other side. I am curious to know how Big brothers/Big sisters feels about this. I was surprised to see that the used jewelry prices in gold and silver were the same prices as Cosco (new jewelry pieces) from where I had just come. I am now very conflicted about donating what essentially seems like to Savers. I wonder if Big Brothers is benefiting from this price gauging. The owners of the private store "Savers" are to blame for this. The staff is incredibly professional, helpful and patient, a bunch of wonderful people. I still recommend checking these stores out but bring deep pockets. read more

This Savers is clean and well organized. It is a smaller store, but it has a decent selection. The only issue, which is why it is receiving a 3-star review, is the pricing is a lot higher than other locations. This place is all about the biggest profit, on donated items. You can still make money and make things affordable. Buying a Forever 21 shirt for the same price that it is at Forever 21 is not a bargain for your customers. Try to stick to percentage off sales. That seems to be where you can get a good deal. read more
