They had a great selection of flowers for Mother's Day tomorrow. I ended up picking up a beautiful bouquet for my Grandma. This location also has a great Starbucks. Nest is such a fun and eclectic place! It's definitely one of those shops that's geared towards…read morecasual browsing, as opposed to a department store with designated aisles or sections. I usually end up buying gifts, seasonal decorations, or little treats for myself like tea, antique trinkets, and candles. I find it hard to describe how the place is organized, but essentially every little alcove in the store represents a particular local craftsperson or entrepreneur. Some of my favorites include... * "Ma belle maison," which is a collection of interesting, reasonably priced antiques and decorations (some sourced directly from southwest France). I found a really cool antique pen tray and some North American duck stamped cards that I have framed above my desk. * "Backstory home" has the best seasonal candles I've ever found! The pumpkin bread candle actually smells like the real thing, and isn't too sweet or overpowering. I also bought their Taylor swift inspired candles for my cousin and she loved them! * Not sure if it's "Harbor cheese and provisions" or "Tono's Tabletop," but there is a fridge stocked with charcuterie, cheese, and nonalcoholic drinks that I've bought for picnics in springtime! Nest also has craft workshops that you can sign up for, and pop up shops that rotate pretty frequently. The clipper ship tea company is currently there, with a unique selection of loose leaf tea blends to choose from- like pumpkin chai! All in all, I love coming to nest. I wish all the aisles had the call button. The cashier at the checkout showed me the best way to use my coupons to get the best discount. I was telling her about another certain craft store is like a coupon nazi - rules, regulations, ugh... She laughed, "Let's see what we can do to get you to get the best discount!" I overheard a customer ask a sales person where a certain item was...the sales person said cheerfully, "Sure! Follow me! I'll show you everything!"

I've worked retail, so I totally understand how horrible it is and do try my best to be nice and make things easy as possible. But this guy is kind of infuriating. I had my own bag and even told him I have my own bag and he waved me off and started putting everything in to a paper bag with out saying anything. I assumed he just didn't care and wasn't going to charge me for it. when I got home, I saw he still charged me for it. It's 5 cents, it's a very small non issue, but part of bigger problem with him. I got him again a few times and have had to basically tell him in a stern tone I have my own bag, while holding it up and he just gave an annoyed sigh last time. I paid for my things and in the few seconds I looked down at my wallet to put my card away and looked up he had just vanished in to thin air. I do have to say every one else, for the most part, is great. I especially love the older lady, she is so kind and sweet.
