I had some other errands on the area, so decided to donate a box of books, shoes, and some home decor to this Savers. Then I wandered into the store. It's very large, and one of the book aisles is partially blocked by chairs, alas. I ended up with more books, three of which I already had, sadly. They don't allow book returns or exchanges, which does suck. I also found some fun old DVD sets, like McHale's Navy and Gilligan's Island. My grandmother was friends with Tina Louise's mother. An odd bit of trivia, lol. Sometimes the pure innocence of old, old shows is relaxing. I also snagged an unusual handkerchief vase. It will work very well for huge flowers like hydrangeas or peonies. Prices are usually fair. There was an entire set of china for $50, and crystal wineglasses were $5 or so for sets of two. One thing that I like about Savers is that they usually price sets together, unlike other chains that price every piece separately. While this can make sense if you only need one, selling in sets is more practical. How often do people need one curtain? The only time that I ever bought one curtain, it wasn't in a thrift. I cut it up and made two cafe curtains. This Savers also has one GIANT advantage over other Savers: you can take the carts out of the store!! Woohoo!! Because I mostly buy books and crystal, this is HUGE. I was delighted. And returned the cart to the store, of course. They had two unmanned registers and the usual self-checkouts. There were four employees chatting by the registers, and when I asked if it was possible to be checked out, a nice man said immediately that he would help me. So while it's disappointing that I already had three of the books, I will just donate them to the Yellow Barn. There is a massive clothing selection, but I don't need any clothes. I did look at some jeans out of curiosity. Prices range from $7 to $15, roughly, depending on brand. I love jeans, but only wear a fairly narrow range of brands. They rarely end up in thrift stores. I did luck out years ago and found a pair of Roberto Cavalli in my size, but that was truly rare. read more

I have donated clothing, (only Macy's clothes) clean, no stains, no missing buttons or broken zippers. Books, I must have donated 200 books, all in excellent condition, aquarium fishes, perennials, annuals, gardening in shade, etc. Dust jackets on most gardening books. I go in, especially for clear glass holders for my shells. Their prices are a little high but if you try church thrift stores, you will see the difference, prices are higher for the church store. I also try to find flower vases. I hope they have a cause they reach out to help. read more

One of my favorite thrift stores. I can usually always find something great here. They have a large selection of items at great prices. Tons of clothes, games, shoes, home items, etc. The only downside is that they do not have fitting rooms though which is inconvenient. Savers is a great thrift store, whether to just poke around and take a stroll down memory lane or to get something you need. They have some great deals on dinnerware type stuff. I've gotten some great sets of large ceramic soup bowls for microwaving my favorite canned soups. I've discovered some awesome ice-cream bowls as well, and there's always a fun selection of mugs, even just to laugh at (with the oddest sayings) even if you don't need to buy any. Even though we're all adults in my family now, we love to dress up for Halloween and Savers is a great place for costumes. Whether it's an item of regular clothing - the perfect green striped shirt to be Peppermint Patty - or an actual pre-packaged kids costume, they have a nice selection. And it's great to find all kinds of clothes in good condition. My husband was into sports jerseys for a while and found many interesting ones on the racks of Savers. It's also a great place to get affordable, comfortable, already broken-in jeans. Thumbs up all around! read more

Awesome, giant and very clean thrift store. I give it an A+ Everything, from furniture, to clothes, shoes, posters, vinyl records is pretty neatly sorted. I love that they also have a HUGE selection of children's books. Prices are moderate (towards the more expensive side for a thrift store) and like most Goodwill type stores, they seem to get all of the leftover stuff that Target and Old Navy can't seem to give away...(Keep that in mind as you are shopping...there is a reason no one bought that while it was on the shelf at Target!). Here's why you should shop at this thrift store: bargains & finding some pretty awesome and unique stuff. Sure, it's a dusty, fluorescent-lit, and has loosely organized aisles. But the possibility of finding something really awesome is worth it. one person's trash is another person's treasure. Where else can you go to get a T Rex coffee cup, a Star Wars trivia calendar, designer clothing, and awesome books or records all while spending less than $20? This store is a gem. They are always bringing out "new" merchandise from the back and it's relatively clean, too. If you buy any clothes, just wash them before wearing. I love savers so much and I really enjoy the clothes at this location. BUT this woman's runs this place like it's some kind of regime. She's very rude to people and it honestly makes shopping very uncomfortable. They run the dressing rooms way too seriously in my opinion. I understand they must experience some thief but they say you have to get back on the line after trying on your 6 items if you have anymore. Just seems a little overbearing. Raising your voice at customers for taking too long and knocking loudly on the doors of the changing rooms just is uncomfortable. read more

Clean, huge, and friendly staff. Got 2 pairs of jeans, and 4 tops for 36$. Honestly, I'm a veteran thrifter and had been pretty disappointed with the selection at most shops near me in my size (women's xl/16). So I took the drive from Lindenhurst to this location and was pleasantly surprised that the prices were great and I found exactly what I was looking for, for a fraction of the price I'd pay at a regular store in the mall/boutique. Pretty big selection of purses/bags, and women's clothing. Pretty average pickings in the shoe department. My mom bought a bunch of houseware stuff and loved it as well. read more

The problems with this Savers: LOCATION and LOGISTICS. If you don't know where to turn off Sunrise service road, you will blast past it, because there's NO signage and you can't see the building till you are hundreds of feet down the turnoff. Also, the parking is lousy.There were areas blocked off, very few handicap spaces( and they're right in the front, again, if you don't know they're in that spot you will drive past them.), I went this past Sunday and there were piles and piles of post-Christmas donations blocking the sidewalk because the donation door is right next to the entrance. And when you leave, you have to go west on Sunrise a mile out of your way to get back east. There's nothing wrong with the layout inside,although it's not that large. It's clean, prices decent if you know what to look for Example; Ann Taylor Loft sweater for $2.99 (not my size). Lots of fitting rooms, staff is competent and fast. But go to the Yaphank location which has MUCH better parking and access. read more

The store has well-organized categories, wide aisles and a comfortable environment. I've learned to visit here every time I head east because I always find something nice. Better than the one in medford but not by too much. Savers in general is overpriced but you can occasionally find deals if you are lucky. This savers have a better selection than the one in medford and the stuff is higher quality. The prices are still high. If you go on the sale days, the store is ridiculously crowded and it is almost impossible to shop. The prices are high for a thrift store on most things especially clothing. No one in their right mind is going to pay 12 dollars for a worn out old target dress that probably cost less new. If you have a coupon it makes it a little better but still expensive. read more

In my opinion, the store was overpriced. The money does support a good cause, but I'd rather go somewhere more affordable. They had a sign over the books pricing them $1-$2; then you look at the price tag they snuck in on the spine of the book and it's more like $6. I can get it NEW on amazon for cheaper. Same thing goes for toys, games, CDs and housewares... If you shop for clothing only, the prices may be more reasonable, I'm not quite sure because I didn't look through them. My bill came out around double what it usually is for the same things elsewhere. I will give it stars for organization and store cleanliness though. Just be wary of the bagged items (toys and accessories) one bag I came home with had dust and cobwebs on the toy :/ read more

It is like going to many different yard sales only they are in one location~~~Love the Senior 55+ Tues. sales, and the many special sale days throughout the year.
