On Election Day 2024, I cast my vote of Four Stars for the Patchogue Dick's Sporting Goods. The vote isn't for the sporting goods or customer service. This vote was casted on their selection of Superfeet insoles. I love hiking and walking, however, I suffer from a severe case of flat feet and arthritis that affects my left foot. Going back to December 6, 2014 when I wrote my review on the Henderson, NV REI; I have been wearing the Superfeet Green E insoles. Without them, I hobble. Due to the fact that there are a few REIs, I needed someplace more convenient to buy them. Nearby in Henderson, I discovered that the Galleria Mall Dick's was a convenient spot to buy sneakers. In December of 2014 and up til recently, they offered an expansive selection of sneakers at reasonable prices. When the Superfeet that I brought in REI wore out, I would find out that they sell Superfeet here. I'd return. In contrast to the Patchogue Dick's Sporting Goods, which used to be a King Kullen supermarket, the Galleria Mall location is a large two-story anchor store. In May 2024, when I visited the Lake Grove location, I saw that the sneaker prices went up big time. The way I see it, the smaller footprint of this location is that it is easy to navigate. Unfortunately they might not have what you are looking for. In my situation the footware section was easy to spot in the back right. Right there was a foot insole section that included a whole side dedicated to Superfeet. They had the Green Size E which my feet depend on. They gave zero problem trying then on to make sure that they fit. The "they" was practically no salesfloor help. The salesfloor Associate that greeted my dad and I conducted what I consider sketchy customer service. He alleged that the Superfeet that I have been buying for a decade (Wow! Ten years flies on Yelp) and have thousands of four star online reviews are these awful insoles that most of the customers return and then recommended that we go to CVS to buy insoles. My Dad and I got the impression that he is about to quit. This leads to two points. Point #1 is that they offer a 90 day warranty on insoles. And point #2 is that when I go to big box stores I have relied more on Internet reviews than the Sales Associates. We passed off his advice and brought the Superfeet. Unlike the sneakers, the prices are about identical to what they were in 2014. They were competitively priced at $54. With my Four Star vote casted, my flat feet and arthritis could lead me back to Dick's. Whether I am in Las Vegas or Long Island, they are a convenient retailer to heel my feet with Superfeet. read more

Went into dicks on walt Whitman rd to get sneakers this weekend. Maybe the weekend is a mistake. I would rather put pins in my eyes. Staff was friendly and helpful just very short staffed. There is little inventory and they can't find what their handheld device says they have in stock. I guess that is Amazon's fault not Dicks. Lesson learned read more

Not a good feeling at all when you walk in. Not inviting at all. Awful, cold setup. Nothing special or different in the store and everything is overpriced. Very dissatisfied (& enlightened!) by the fact that Dick's Sporting Goods not only prioritizes expediency and profit over anything approximating customer satisfaction. I wrote their corporate offices a postal letter regarding their inattention to the fact that they charge the customer $150 for delivery of unwieldy devices such as treadmills, but the task is commonly subcontracted to a local delivery person (who receives maybe half of the $150 and is supposedly doing a $150 service). But their corporate offices are so disaffected, so bereft of normal responsibility, that they did not even give my letter lip service. If I am a wealthy customer paying far over $1,000 for delivery of a treadmill and I am treated this way, imagine what one is to expect when buying a pair of shoes or shoelaces? Beware! read more

It seems there is a rumor that someone it getting a monetary tip to let certain people know when ammo is in. When a truck comes in, those people are advised of the shipment. Then there is nothing left for people that go to the range. A month ago they sold someone 300 boxes of ammo. No questions asked. read more

I just spent over $1500.00 including equipment and clothing you would think someone would say thank you and goodnight. I miss Sports Authority, they were so helpful and polite. Always greeted with a smile. I know I'm a pleasant person (husband included), it wasn't us! The only nice person was the young kid that put the box in our truck. That is why we have 2 stars instead of 1. Went to hand the kid $5 tip and he won't accept, said he's not allowed to. Really? Kids making minimum wage and corporate won't allow associates to accept tips. Hello corporate you need to change this policy. Not pleased with this experience. One of the smaller Dicks... locations and although some people say size doesn't matter, this Dicks certainly disappoints. Not as much to work with here compared to other dicks in other places so you won't always be getting what you need and can potentially leave quite unsatisfied. You'll wind up finding another Dicks and liking it much better so why bother even trying this one? Shear convenience of where this Dicks is, that's the only reason I can come up with. read more

The person that worked in the hunting department didn't do a background check when I volunteered to do so. I was aiming to purchase a rifle. Either way, he denied selling it to me because I was not planning to use the rifle. I just needed it as a prop in a zombie movie. Where does it say that I have to use the rifle in order to purchase it? What could I possibly use a rifle for besides a movie prop? I guess they really want animals to be hunted down. read more

Stores like this are why I do mostly shopping online. The staff is nice, if you can find them. The selection is decent, but they probably don't have that running shoe in your size. The guys at the gun counter have no idea where certain types of ammo are and hand you rifles with the action closed and magazine inserted. The cashier was of no help in solving the pricing discrepancy and I walked out w/o my purchase. I highly hate writing bad reviews but this store gave me no choice. I looked on the website and it told me that the coat that I wanted was in the patchouge location. And the website was 100% wrong. The manager said that the website server wasn't working and I thought that wasn't and excuse. And I walked out the store without the coat I wanted. I truly dislike writing reviews, but this is about a store in Pocatello Idaho, the management team there I feel is horrible, @ attending to business, and Managerial Professionalism, customer service, for in all of my professional years I would think that when you as a manager tell a possible new employee time after time we will call you back for an interview, thank you for your interest in wanting to work for Dick's and say comments like sounds like the possibility of working for us is good because of all of you experience, we'll call you for an interview and then never so much as even send out a response of thank you applying, but you were not chosen, these two managers constantly said oh you will get a call for an interview simply because you have called back so many times, Never heard a single word, that to me is Lying and if you are willing to lie, to potential employees or even customers who else is this manager willing to lie too, In eight years of being a manager where has customer service of a simple response been forgotten about, I will NEVER shop a Dicks Sporting Goods store as long as I am above ground, and will be sure to inform friends and Family of the lousy Managerial Professionalism, while talking with one of the managers about getting my resume back, she confronted me as to say I will not "argue" with you on the store floor, I replied I'm not arguing with you I simply would have liked my Resume back, after management lied to me on a couple of occasions as to they would definitely get back to me for an interview, yet they No intentions what so ever of doing so. We went to the rifle counter and waited about 10 minutes, no one was there and no one came to help. I clicked the button for assistance twice and no one came. My dad saw an employee walking, and asked if there was someone that could come to help us, the employee said yes. Another 10 minutes passed, still no one there. The employee was about to walk past us when my dad asked if someone was coming, and the employee said "the guy who works the rifle area went on break and the manager said he was too busy to help." My Dad and I were about to leave, and he asked to see the manager. There were two, one just standing around. My dad explained to him we were standing in the rifle area for 20 minutes and no one was there to help. The manager said, word for word, "You are not the only customers here, we are very busy right now. It's funny you say that because the guy just went on break 5 minutes ago." Which is false because we were standing there for 20 minutes with NO ONE THERE. We left very disappointed and very disrespected by the manager. It's their loss, we went to a local gun store and spent our $500 there, instead of at Dick's. After the disappointment we experienced today, it seems they do not treat their customers very nicely and I will not be stepping foot into this location again. read more

Wanted to buy some soccer cleats at this Dicks Sporting Goods location, in Patchogue NY. Went to the store, found some cleats I wanted , I wasn't looking to get them for free or looking for a discount, when I was ready to pay , I went to the counter and I was confounded when the clerk told me the cleats were not "released" yet and I would have to wait and couldn't take them home. I spoke to the manager and she told me the same crap.The cleats were $130 and I was going to pay for them I didnt ask for discounts or anything. So in the end the cleats could not be sold to me. I hate writing bad reviews , but this was just ridiculous, the cleats were on display and had pricing and they were on the shelfs clearly being sold, now if they arent realesed yet why have them out on the shelfs? My son and I have been shopping at Dicks sporting goods for years.. A new store opened in Patchougue which made it more convienient since its 5 mins from our house. My son recently went in the store to purchase an iten and found it for a lower price at walmart in an advertised sale. He was at the register ready to purchase the iten informed them he had a ad form another store that had it on sale. Well they told him "no" didnt explain why just "no" . I called the store got the same response. Dicks has a price garuntee that will match a lower price from a LOCAL RETAIL STORE. that what is stated on their store policy and web sites. When I called to tell them about my sons shopping expierience they didnt have and answer as to why he was told "no". I asked for a manager, was left on hold for more tan 20 minutes before I had enough and hung u. Contacted the so bcalled "corperate" phone number explaine the situation and was transferred all around with Dicks representative telling me " that statement of PRICE MATCH GARUNTEE ONLY APPLIES TO OTHER "SPORTING GOOD STORS". iT DOES NOT SPECIFY ANY TYPE OF OR NAMES OF STORES THEY CLAIM THE GUARENTEE APPLIES TO. ITS WRITTEN IN THEIR AD AND ONLINE FOR ALL TO VIEW IT STATES" DICKS HAS A PRICE GARENTEE THAT WIL MATCH ANY OTHER LOCAL RETAIL STORS QS LONG AS IT CAN BE VERIFIED WITH PRESENTING A LOWER PRICE PRINTED AD AND ALSO BY CALLING THAT OTHER STORE TO VERIFY THE SALE PRICE AS LONG AS IT IS THE IDENTICAL ITEN WITH THE SAME MODEL NUUMBER.
