The only way I can describe Save U More, is a blend of IGA, Smart & Final and, Cost Plus World Market. I enjoy perusing international markets for unusual, interesting, and unique items. Predominantly Indo-European & Asian food, with a small selection of fresh produce. It's an odd set up, the interior is divided into 5 different areas, pet supply store, bakery, international foods, & restaurant supplies, there is also a deli/cafe located on the premises. It is an eclectic international market, with a large variety of imports, uncommon products, and extensive selection juices and sodas, Russian pastries, English cheese, German cookies, Armenian preserves, Filipino longanisa, Greek jams, and more, I am almost certain, they carry a few items from every country in the world, currently that's 195 if you were wondering. In spite of it's small size by today's supermarket standards, I have a hard time shopping here, other than sodas, pet supplies, and produce, nothing else is easy to find, the layout is awkward at best, it's more expensive than other local stores, and lastly, good luck asking someone to help you find a product, no one seems to have a clue what they have in stock. This place is so much more than a grocery store: there's Ideal Pet Stop and Magic Flavors Bakery/Cafe/Restaurant also occupying the same space. The supermarket section is pretty okay. Small section for restaurant supplies, especially spices. There's also a small produce department, which wasn't looking too great when I was there. They definitely have some interesting choices, though! Overall there are some nifty items throughout the stores. Some things you can easily find at any grocery store and others that would require a specialty shop. Prices are hit and miss; somethings are cheaper than a regular grocery store and others are more expensive. read more

I normally try and buy As close to 100% Rye bread from here from time to time because they do carry better bread than Safeway but today after being followed and watched on my every move, I had enough. They acted like they'd never heard of this, even when I showed them on my phone where it said to skip the line, retrieve the keys, and leave. They made me wait nearly 25 minutes in line, only to get to the counter and try to tell me the truck was already dispatched. I said this can't be correct because I had to visually verify the truck online before I could get the keys. They kept trying to make me sign a contract and give them more information despite the fact they had literally everything they needed already on their screen. read more

This store has a new store manager. Ive met him twice now. Both times unfavourably. Today I ordering a "16 inch root bear float" for $2.99. After the cook in the back wasn't sure how to make one with what they had they called the store manager. The store manager asked me "why would you order something we don't make?" "It's not on the menu". I grabbed a menu and pointed to the "16 inch root bear float". He then walked away and said he'd make it. 10 minutes later I was offered a root bear float in a glass cup ( not 16 inches). He apologized then came back with another glass but he was clearly flustered. The food really isn't that good and the new store manager should be replaced. Very peculiar store, but in a good way. I think they try to do a little bit of everything which is a little confusing at first but once you go in a couple of times it seems to work. We have been going in off and on since it opened. The traffic has continually picked up over the months. They have a lot of different things so it really is hard to compare prices. By the way somebody keeps parking in our spot, up front, on the west side of the building next to the handicap spot. Shhh... don't tell anyone but the Costco Cashews are a dollar less than Costco. Yes, I did check the expiration date. So before the holidays 2016 Costco had the cashews at $15.99 which was kind of a steady price, then during the holidays they went up to $19.99 then they have been staying steady at $18.99. So the price of the Cashews at the Covington Costco was $19.99 the last time I went there... sorry, I digressed A LOT. So, we did try to eat at Save U More once. They have a big sign for Catfish (Southern) on the outside of the building so we went in and asked about prices and it was hard to get a standard price it wasn't on a menu or anything. The hub's and I shared a 2 piece. The first time it came out it was very under-cooked, we simply asked them to recook it. They gladly took it and came out with our order about 10 minutes later, by that time we had gotten some drinks. The lady who had cooked it the first time said that our meal was on her including the drinks. Was very impressed and unexpected therefore the 4 rating. So, it ended up that we weren't fond of the fish, to crunchy or something maybe I just don't know what southern catfish is? I don't think we will eat there again. Just an interesting little store and fun to look at the deli counter and all the different items they have we will continue to stop by the store from time to time. read more

Strange little market: find ask your european/Indian/Asian grocery, specialty deli meats and cheeses, U-Haul truck rental, food court, pet supply, food, and full service grooming in one place! Even Fred Meyer's one stop shopping can't beat that! Very good prices, a little selection of everything. The one thing I tend to stay away from its their produce. Maybe each of the 3 times I've come was an off day, but many of the items are overripe, beginning to rot and covered in fruit flies. Lots of samples throughout the store. Fresh baked baguettes and french bread, still warm, out of the oven often times! My son's favorite. He finishes 3 rolls each time I buy before they even make it onto the counter at home!! Very light and fluffy, outside crunchy how it's supposed to be!! I like their frozen selection of pellini (eastern European dumplings) and their prosciutto for under $10/lb!! read more

Rented a U-Haul to move from this location. It was very easy to get what you needed and focus on the move. The U-Haul team is supposed to be one of the best in country and the helpful, efficient experience that I had proved that. Robert the Manager there is a stand up guy as well. I stopped here this afternoon on my way home from work. I wanted to check out the pet food section and the deli. The person that helped me in the pet section was very helpful and friendly. Their pet section is huge and has a large variety of supplies to choose from. I was impressed, it's not like your typical grocery store pet section. This place is completely amaziiinnngggg! My very first time stepping into this place because I met a gentleman at the dog park. His dog was wearing the cutest sweater. I have a hard time finding a cute and comfy sweater for my boxer. I drove all the way to Kent only to get this sweater at 7pm Saturday, turns out they ran out because the sweater was so popular. Just when we were about to walk out, there was so many things in there that caught our attention like their fresh bakery example fresh "bang mi" wth lol Great great great customer service, I can not tell you how welcoming we felt. The best part was I get to bring my bff boxer inside. Super nice people. They said as long as the dogs are well-mannered, they are welcome in :) Super cool. Pet food super affordable. The pet department is awesome- full of top quality brands and the ability to order for your pet brands they don't usually carry. So about 5 month ago I went in and love the place I still do to some extent. They still carry lots of international delights that it's hard to find anywhere else, but I noticed when ever they have a product on sale it's few month expired. I almost bought some European ketchup for .99¢ only to see that it expired 4 month ago. Been paying more attention to expired product and they have lots. I also seen that their meats and cheeses are expired and that's bad. Was going to buy some pita pockets but they were green and it seemed like no one cared. The ladies that work there are nice it's still new and I hope they keep up with expired product, I do know that it's hard to keep up with all this international product but no one wants to buy product that expired month ago.. This new business is located in the old Valley Harvest store in the McLendon parking lot on the East hill of Kent. They're still in the process of adding more amenities, but I was amazed at what was there already. Produce - Beautiful and inexpensive Beer selection - Great -also had wines and hard liquor Staples - I found things I've been looking for for months...i.e. juniper berries They plan to add a scratch bakery, a deli and café soon. There also is a pet store located inside. I thought it might be odd, but it's located just off the main aisle. Their inventory was very good, and had supplies for most household pets. So I was encouraged to go here by a shopper adjacent to me in the checkout lane who said I'd save money at this "pet store". I had no idea there is a pet store inside! My first visit I shopped the imbedded pet store, the imbedded dollar store, all of the grocery and produce aisles. I did not eat in the cafe, but made a mental note to eat at the cafe in the future. Pricewise, I would say the grocery and pet areas are a mixed bag. I scored several great made in Washington products underpriced.(If I reveal this, then there'd be none left for me!). The pet area has many, many unique products and the employees were very friendly and helpful. I bought some wheat grass which my cat showed no interest in and they graciously returned it. The grocery area is truly international. One reviewer said it was mainly one or two regions; this is false! I saw products from everywhere! Better than driving all the way to Burien to buy German deli products and not be appreciated or thanked for shopping there...the employees here I've encountered have been nice and helpful. So on today's trip I ate in the cafe and then shopped in the grocery again. Ordered breaded catfish. I hate breaded anything. Have never eaten catfish. I gotta tell you, this was delicious! No fatty crust. The fish was kinda smokey, which I liked. I asked for a to go box for the HUGE portion and then asked if they would refrigerate it while I went shopping. No problem! Then my friend and I roamed the aisles. I bought kefir from Lebanon, smoky squid for a substitute salmon dip ( has good protein), coffee syrup, asian noodles and smoked German cheese to die for. There are literally products from all over. This was fun! When I went to check out, they retrieved my refrigerated leftovers at my request. I had been there a long time, shopping with a friend I hadn't seen in a long time, with whom I had lunch. I have yet to try the weekend music and the free dance lessons. This is a hidden gem! They have food from across the world labeled by little country flags. Also the deli is inexpensive but super good quality. Subway eat your heart out. LOL this place is so weird, but perfect for me! This supermarket, grocery store, deli, pet supply and grooming, full bakery and deli store offers a little bit of everything! From the outside, it looks to be a small size store but what they've done with the space is quite incredible. I forgot to mention they also have a small section of dollar store items within the store too. I would suggest, getting in the car and heading down with your family, friends, and your pets because there's a little something for everyone! The groomer there is very friendly and helpful when it came to product suggestions for my dog. Grooming was made easy too! The store itself has a wide variety of items for sale including bulk goods, some kitchen gadgets, a vast variety of spices, and food ranging from the unusual, to ethnic, to every day. They even have a small deli and ice cream shop, with the children's play area, and a sizable seating area. LOL oh and don't forget the U-Haul rental center that's in back! Although the location is small and they don't carry everything that you might need... They offer quite a bit of discount items and products that are difficult to find in other stores, which I always appreciate. Like I said, this place is totally weird... But I love it. Perfectly happy with $100 wine purchase, but the whole experience was a low one because I asked for a price check on a can of mixed nuts... This man referred to himself as Ron, the store manager. Ron was an experience I won't forget, and I won't be returning to this store. That experience upsetting enough that I'm taking the time to write this review... I found Ron to be condescending, rude just as soon as he started talking/lecturing! He was an ego maniac that really fed off the confrontation he instigated. He was the kind that say things like, "I'm trying to help you" when their attitude, and tone says just the opposite. His words said all the right things, but he was gangster like/intimidating in his demeanor, and seem to really feed his ego as he got loud in front of other customers in the store. Yesterday, I went to Kent Location Save U More grocery store at 23636 104th Ave SE #1, Kent, WA 98031. The lady at check out was very rude and unprofessional when I asked for the divider to put my stuff there so that not to mix with other customer's stuff. She understood what I was looking for. But she intentionally ignored it, and started murmuring, anyhow I moved on to check out and paid for my groceries. Next she did put my stuff outside and didn't ask me for bag. But when I asked her softly can you please put them in a bag? She again had problem and started yelling at me. I don't know why she was doing like this unprofessionally. When I reminded her about Customer Service, she started to say to the security guy to intimidate me who was standing next to us and watching everyone. But the security guy ignored her. I was wondering the way she was doing there instead of helping customers was giving hard time. No manners. No welcome. No thanks. Should I go back in future to buy something in this store? I would say never if this customer Service is provided there that make us feel embarrassing. I am a real estate Broker I have reputation in the market. So, why should I go there that make me feel like this. This is a commercial place not a somebody's home. If you have any personal problem keep it to yourself not to bug others. We like to refer to this as the European market because of all the Euro foods but there are also asian & hispanic sections. You can get foods here that you can't get in your regular markets. I really like their bakery a lot. It is first class and the prices are good. I love the apple and cherry pies, the crusts are the best and I like their pastries. All in all an interesting store. They like to buy things from others ( Costco, winco, Ikea and probably others to resell) Nothing in the grocery part seems appetizing, I came here for moving supplies and thought this place was a joke. The pet store seems the most normal but other than that the entire prepared food section appears to be ran by people you normally wouldn't want to touch stuff bare handed like they were. Great store! The deli has a lot of delicious meats and cheeses and you can sample before you buy! Had some of the gelato and it was amazing! Also the cafe had sandwiches with chips and a water for $2.99!! Tried the meat pizza, it was very good. The customer service was outstanding, and they have a lot of unique items in their grocery department. The produce was fresh and beat other stores prices. And if that isn't enough, they have a pet supply store that carries just about everything! Even a grooming salon! I took my dog there to get washed and he came back looking fluffy and smelling great. The rice we bought here had bug larva and the food on display was so moldy I tried to hint to them by asking if the cheesecake had blueberries but they just poked it and said no it's plain. The fuzzy food was ignored and I know it was larva in our rice because I put it in a clear jar with a rubber lid and found bugs with wings crawling inside the next day. Bugs we never see anywhere near our home. The shelves were so unorganized I found the same items scattered all throughout six isles and almost nothing was in it's labeled spot. Thanks to the bugs and mold I will never return it's too disgusting not worth getting sick or gaining a bug infestation. Wish we could get our money back read more

I contacted the store to find out if they had a specific produce item. Even though I reached the store the lady that answered the phone told me she could not tell me what was in stock despite telling me she was in corporate. I inquired how does a customer actually receive any customer service and her response was I needed to come in the store to find out. I don't know how this makes sense but they definitely don't worry about me shopping there again. What was previously a good experience has gone bad due to this person's lack of skills. She must not be aware of all the other grocery stores in the area that actually provide customer service. She may not also be aware there is more than one "international" market in the area as well.
