Meijer, get your ish together. It was 8am on a Sunday. They said I could go into the store and break it and come back. Well, can't you just ask for change from the cash window then? Yes, yes you can. At one end of the store is a bakery selling fresh donuts, pies and fry cakes. At the other end is a deli, making fresh sandwiches to order. The sandwiches are amazing. I had a turkey and ham sandwich on rye. The sandwich was packed with meat, cheese and fresh toppings. This was the best sandwich that I have had in a long time and it was $3.99. There is no place to eat inside, so you must take your food to go. The staff were friendly and efficient. The cheeses are amazing and flavorful. I picked up horseradish and bacon cheeses. The prices are reasonable. You can even buy chicken coups and outbuildings. There was an extensive collection of bird food and custom feeders. Ask for their menu as they are also a small restaurant and will cook you up some good eatin's! On one side of the store they have all the convenience store items, and on the other side they have tables to eat meals and shelves with hardware types of items such as screws, nails, small pipes, and handy man home maintenance type things. I love the meats and cheeses. When you really think about it, how often can you get items from Europe at a discount? Aldi has them, though not everything is from Europe. Of course, they also have the everyday items that you would buy from a typical American grocery store, including some rather inexpensive and fresh produce. They cover every category the big stores do and have some other items, such as small appliances and outdoor furniture, on occasion. Their skin care line is not only inexpensive, but it's apparently highly rated. When they were entering the Orlando, Florida market, they worked with tv news to provide a glimpse into their way of doing business. They constantly have taste testing of their products against national brands. If they don't feel their brand is good enough, they carry the national brand. In two or three cases, I think it's not so true or they're testing against the wrong brands. e.g., the Hot Pockets alternative tastes exactly like the WalMart brand, which is to say that it doesn't taste anywhere near as good as the Hot Pockets brand. On occasion, you'll see Hot Pockets and other Nestlé brands in the store as a special purchase. The people who work there do double duty. They stock the shelves and cashier. They're also incredibly friendly, no matter the circumstances.
