So much imagination and all items well-made. All the things…read moreyou want, but don't know where to find them. LOOK HERE! And they will custom make what you want if they don't already have it.

Here's one of those rare times I wish we could give more than five stars. A completely unique…read moreshopping experience that's recommended in so many ways. First off, you will find a vast and constantly changing selection of antique and vintage home furnishings and decor- cabinets, hutches, shelves, accent tables, kitchen ware, a dizzying array of baskets in all shapes and sizes - which the the kind owners gather as they hunt estate sales, flea markets and the like. Most of these pieces are American made, all are handcrafted and one-of-a-kind. Some will have been lovingly restored by proprietor Damien - who also crafts new pieces and can do so to your specifications! We recently bought a house in the area and are slowly making it our very own. I'm in need of a short shelf/hook rack, which might easily be obtained as a cheap piece of crap from Walmart mass-produced in communist China - or I'll pay a few dollars more and have one handmade right here in Ohio. Take a guess which I've decided on. In addition to wood crafts, proprietress Shannon makes personalized T shirts, coffee mugs and koozies with a great selection of designs to choose from. Still don't see something that grabs you? No worries, bring your own design and she'll make it happen. They say you can't always get what you want but that doesn't seem to apply here! Something here for everyone and great gift ideas too. Any unscheduled closing (doesn't happen often) is posted on their facebook page, so if you're making a special trip might want to check that first- or call. My other tip is, if you see something that grabs you- grab it now! I highly recommend you get over to the Workshop.

*Grocery only review*…read more I shop here twice a week or more since I live five minutes away and I prefer smaller, more frequent grocery orders vs the filled up shopping cart. The grocery is quite good. There is a full service deli counter that's always manned. They prepare the cooked chicken and other takeaway hot food here, and are always available to slice your cold cuts to order. A very respetable charcuterie section too. Very good selection of organic vegetables and meats, and many certified non-GMO items. They are bringing in more of the "Better Goods" product line which includes quality frozen foods and jarred fruit, with ingredient lists that DON'T read like a chemistry textbook. I recently found they now offer a cream cheese without any "gum" additives...made of milk, cream, cheese culture and salt. Imagine that. Employees are around to help you find things. The self-checkout, which is my preference, works well and rarely gets hung up. They often open only half of them, sadly, due to not having enough eyes available to watch for thieves. For some deep-seated psychological reason I never do the Yelp check in here, but trust me I've gotta be the Duchess 10 times over. This is a good grocery store and I recommend you give it a try.

Anyway I am not that thrilled with it. Yes, it's very big with much more inventory than the little old store. And it's very clean, at least for now. They have a Starbucks counter (no seating), sushi if that's your thing, and the Murray's Cheese which the better Kroger stores carry. (That's my thing.) I observed 4 mobility shopping carts for those who require them. I further observed notably higher prices on items I normally buy at the Beckett Ridge (West Chester) location- and that would be considered a more affluent area! I also saw a refrigerated smoked meat item that was past its expiration date; and the store has only been open six days. The greatest disappointment is this BIG "supermarket" has no deli counter for cold cuts sliced to order! All they have is "grab and go" packages of pre-sliced ham, bologna, etc. of their own store brand. No thanks. I want it sliced fresh, I want to choose the thickness of the cut, the weight I want, and sometimes (gasp!) I might want a taste before making the commitment to buy a pound! And the final insult is these pre-sliced store brand deli meats that have been sitting around who knows how long, handled by who knows, are quite pricey. I will stop here for the store brand soda which I like and maybe a few other targeted items, but I'd say Walmart's grocery across the street does not have anything to worry about from the coming of this new store.

For years, Eaton had the IGA on Aukerman Street. Suddenly, in late 1986/early 1987, they were…read morereplaced by Marsh. IGA (Independent Grocers Association?) has some fairly inexpensive canned goods, but Marsh is mostly the opposite, and it's rather local, coming from Yorktown, Indiana. Kroger is a bigger chain than Marsh, having stores in several states, and even running convenience stores in other states under different brands. They're not really cheap, either. This location is somewhat small but seems neat and clean and the employees are friendly. They still have a reasonable selection, they just have to stock more often than other stores, I'm sure. I found my Turkey Hill individual iced tea bottles right next to the bigger bottles in the dairy section, and they were priced the same as the bigger stores. Kroger may not be inexpensive, but if you hit the sales, clip the coupons, and get the Kroger rewards card, you'll be fine.
