Cinnamon rolls might be the best I've ever had (in over 60 years of eating them!); maple-frosted brownies were great too - more fudgy than cakey, which I prefer, but not simply like eating fudge (which would have been too sweet). My wife had to go back in to get some puffs for lunch. These bits of stuffed breads were the perfect bite. The lady working there was kind enough to warm them. They have also have gluten free options. The place is open 7 days a week and judging by the amount of in/out traffic they are a local favorite. We will be back to order more. This place fits the bill under both categories! Many years ago, before I moved to Worcester, my friend made me follow an Instagram account that was basically carb porn. Day after day, I'd check out their bizarre and scrumptious cupcake flavors, fantasizing about the day that I'd make it there. Back then, Worcester felt like a such a pain to get to that it took me a while to get there. But when I finally found this tiny little place tucked away on Water St, it was like that moment in Willy Wonka where Charlie is aghast at all the sugary delights around him. It was every frosted fantasy come to life. I try not to go TOO often, because I don't want to be condemned to a life of stretchy pants. But when I do go, it's a serious struggle not to try every creative confection in their case. Their treats are INCREDIBLE.

So now whenever I go I always get it. It isn't too overpowering of avocado and has a nice sweet taste to it. I think they mix condensed milk into it. You have an option of adding boba or other toppings too. Also, their crepes are really good! I always get them with green tea ice cream since most places don't generally serve that as an option. So why not? And I love nutella! I have tried various kinds of their crepes and loved each of them. I would definitely recommend the avocado shake and any of their crepes. I loved what I saw from street view already, being someone who loves quaint homeyness over hoity-toity pretentiousness, but upon walking in I almost knew immediately this would be the spot. It's a lovely little bakery, in a very quiet part of Worcester, and I felt invited in by the staff upon entering. Mara knew who we were, sat us down and provided excellent samples on a platter and discussed our favorite colors, ideas, etc. during our consultation. By the time she finished, my fiance looked at me and we exchanged the decision that we were going with On The Rise. Now, it's a way's off before I'll see what our wedding cake turns out to be, but the samples we tried were wonder, the presentation was beautiful, the service was excellent, and I love knowing I'm supporting a truly local staple.
