It was good and served with a tangy dipping sauce. My entree is where they fell down a bit. I ordered the General Taos chicken. The sauce had lots of flavor but the chicken was a bit plain on its own. I also expected the chicken to be very crispy since I was sitting about 10 feet from the kitchen. They had a wide variety of sushi rolls which unfortunately I couldn't try. The service was fast and friendly. I did find the music a bit loud but not so loud that you couldn't carry on a conversation.

What they do well: cheap and fast. When I was there for lunch, it was AYCE for $19.99. You really can't beat that. The service is solid, though not stellar. The selection is pretty good, too! The restaurant is also well maintained. It's always clean and the decor is exactly what you'd expect for Japanese cuisine. Opportunity: the sushi has been falling apart all three times I've been there. It reminds me a little of what it might be like if i made it at home myself and didn't get the sushi rice right. That doesn't adversely affect the flavors, but it's annoying that I can never seem to dip it into the soy sauce and get it into my mouth without losing half the roll. Their service model also makes it so items from the fryer or other appetizers sometimes come out after the sushi rolls. There's no effort to synchronize the back kitchen staff and the sushi bar. This isn't necessarily an issue for me. I'm happy when there's food in front of me. But I could see others feeling like it's a disjointed approach and experience. Like I said, I'll be back. The dining room itself is pretty decent size, but I can't speak to ambiance since there were only two other tables occupied when we were there. It seems chill, but I would need to come back at dinner time to see what it's like when it's more crowded. I asked our server about the Vegan specials (as indicated on menu) and she listed a whole bunch of options and walked me through what was Vegan on the regular menu as well as detailing all the items on the separate vegan menu. So definitely ask when you're here so you don't miss out on anything!! Hubby got the Tabe Ramen. He really enjoyed the dish and said the protein was cooked well and the base was not overpowering or too salty, and it was perfect lunch portion and delicious. I got the Vegan Gyoza, Vegan Monsoon Roll, and Vegan Shrimp Fried Rice. The gyoza was bomb (even hubby liked it), the monsoon roll had a flavor in it (not sure what it was) that was a bit strong, but I still ate the whole thing (just probably wouldn't pick it for myself next time). The rice was well cooked and flavorful, and the hubby said the "shrimp" tasted shrimp adjacent (I don't eat seafood so I wouldn't know), and it was ok it was just a new flavor for me that would take getting used to. It came with a vegan fried egg (again something I have never tried before), and it was very close to the real thing (even looking like it would with how the egg whites brown when cooked)! But I am excited to come back and try other items and update my review!
