So tonight I was in the mood for a salad, but I've been getting tired of going to my usual spots and getting the same thing over and over. I wanted to try something new! Soooo, I got on Grubhub and started browsing around and that's how I discovered this gem!! Savage burrito is a pop-up concept, operating out of Uncle Julio's Mexican Restaurant. They offer a variety of burritos, salads, and bowls and you can also build your own!! I opted for the build your own salad. I did mine with carne asada, and an assortment of other toppings. I really didn't have high expectations since I've never seen or heard of this place, but OMG - I was surprised in the BEST WAY! Everything was absolutely DELICIOUS!! The salad was FULLY LOADED with toppings and flavor. They didn't skimp at all!! The ingredients were all super fresh. Vegetables were crisp, cheese was on point, and carne asada was tender and perfectly seasoned. I had to take a star off because they forgot my guacamole, which I was really looking forward to. I wanted a taco salad but came across this place so thought I would give it a try. Not the greatest but not terrible. I LOVE guacamole. The queso is not bad but it's not as good as it should be. The chips were incredibly stale. The kid bean and cheese burrito was the best next to the guacamole. The beef was weird but not terrible my son ate it but he left some. Now, I got the build your own bowl and it looked better when I pulled it out of the bag. Not much to say, no toppings really and the pinto beans were really undercooked so it was not that good. I wish places would put some real effort into making great food I would have returned but I think there are better places. read more

If you like burritos I recommend Savage Burrito located in Allen and the best part is you can order off door dash and have it delivered. The serving sizes are large. My fav is carne asada, mexican rice, pinto beans, roasted habanero salsa and Pico de Gallo. Mom likes the chicken and rice bowl. read more

Savage Burrito is owned and operated by Uncle Julio's. With that being said, we had it delivered a few times from the Allen location. The first time was great. However, the two times we've ordered since were terrible. Wrong/missing items were our biggest complaint. We haven't ordered since, but we did visit the Uncle Julio's Allen location after giving up on Savage Burrito, and the experience was hands down the worst. I'm unsure of what happened to the good quality food and service, but it has tanked completely. We haven't ordered Savage Burrito or visited Uncle Julio's since our terrible food experience. read more

Hi hopes from word of mouth recommendations but somewhat of a disappointment. I have to be very careful when I order Mexican food because I'm allergic to cilantro and can't handle spicy food. When my husband wants Mexican I always say yes. I chose a bowl so I could select every ingredient. How did hot peppers make their way into a bowl of chicken, rice, lettuce pinto beans and avocado? The chicken was fried to death, most pieces too hard to eat. The avocado was black and the churros tasted like coconut . I'm baffled! My husband loved his bowl. He loved the salsa. He loved the chips. He loved the hatch chili queso. I liked the chips and the chili con queso. Oh, and the Corona. The portions are generous. The "queso" is inedible; partially melted white Velveeta and nothing more. Too thick to dunk a chip into, even after reheating. We ordered two bowls and a burrito, and everything was too salty, mushy, and loaded with way too much cheese. Today was the first time I'd seen Savage Burrito on my DoorDash app. Pictures looked kinda 'runny' but the ingredients list kept my attention. I ordered the Nashville Hit chicken quesadilla. I got to select many options to make it my own which is very handy. Being the chicken was hot I chose the regular flour tortilla in place of the medium jalapeño or the hotter one. I think the Cholula tortilla might be a butt burn. ;-) The food did not disappoint. It was a refreshing change on my normal Tex-Mex. Will definitely be ordering again. read more
