I always enjoy my meals at Schlotzsky's. Normally, I get the turkey bacon club sandwich and add onions. SO GOOD! I have never been disappointed. I love their sourdough bread. On Wednesdays, they have BOGO pizza deals. Today, I got the supreme and bbq chicken pizza. Two pizzas for less than $9.79 plus tax! I will take it! They loaded both with all the toppings. The only downside is when the drive thru line is packed, it will take a while to get your food. If you order online and pick up inside, it's pretty fast service. read more

You know Schlotzsky's has been one of mine and my wife's favorite sandwich shops for years - we would always try to find one wherever we were at. We visited the Plano location at US 75 & Spring Creek and the Murphy, Tx ones most often. I went to the Murphy one tonight and that will be my LAST visit to a Schlotzsky's !!!!! We were disappointed a few months ago when we went through the drive tru and they told us they no longer had wheat bread, so we moved our selection to the Jalapeno bread, but tonight I pulled in and order a small original on that bread and was told they no longer carried that bread and I asked them what breads they had and the young gentleman said soughdough, and I said I knew they carried that one, but what other ones, and he repeated soughdough. I said is soughdough the ONLY one you carry and he laughed and said yes. So I order a small original on soughdough and a smoked turkey on soughdough. I got to the window and he was laughing and said were you surprised, and I said yes. He said I have worked here for 5 years and I can't believe it either, we used to carry soughdough, wheat, rye, Jalapeno, and would ALWAYS carry a special bread of the month - now ALL WE DO IS SOUGHDOUGH. I said I bet they jacked up the prices too didn't they, he sure they did, just wait until I tell you how much 2 small sandwiches are going to cost you and when he said over $16.00 I nearly had heart attack !!!!! Been eating here as long as this place has been in business. In the 70's they actually served Canadian Moosehead beer and the drinking age was 19. (Another State not Texas). Too bad that's not an option any more. Damn nationwide rule changes. This location has been renovated in that last year and is really a nice fast food restaurant. They have added new menu items since the last time I was here and are rather tasty! No beer though only Fuze soda pop and tea products. (They never offered beer here). The French dip sandwich is really good as is the Sicilian or the Tuscan. However, I always go back to the Original. It's my die hard favorite and difficult to mess up unless you add red onions. The Louisiana Hot sauce in the silver packets adds a nice flavor to any bite of food. Recommend you eat this on every bite! Since I have frequented this business across multiple states including years, have fond memories, it's time to be honest. This location has the best service and consistently in food. It's always packed at night time (6:30 PM till closing). For fast food it's a solid 5. Not going to defend my choice either. This place is always spot on. read more

I swung into the drive thru at the country club and javalina location last Thursday and ordered the original combo. when i pulled up to the window to pay i asked for some pepper/hot sauce. The person at the register acted like they had no idea what I was referring to, but seemed to understand. I waited a few minutes and could see this person was on their phone not paying attention to anything else. I opened the bag when i arrived at my location and no hot sauce. Ok I get that the workforce is not what it used to be and you just have to make do with what you can get. The much bigger issue is that when I unwrapped my sandwich it had 4 slices of meat. less than a McDonalds regular hamburger, in-fact all of the toppings on this sandwich were extremely skimpy. I am fully aware of the difficulties in running a restaurant in this economy or any for that matter. The truth is this was not worth the 15.00 paid for it. There are 2 other sandwich places within 3 minutes of this place, and both are better, especially in this price range. I have been eating at Schlotz for over 20 years unfortunately that is over. I am willing to pay 15-20 for a sandwich but it has to be worth it, this place id defiantly not. I don't know if it is management that has overseen the cutting back of ingredients or someone in the kitchen that may feel they are helping the company out. Either way I will show my protest by going to JJs or subway or take the extra 3 minutes to drive to the Cheeba Hut , the latter being the best of the three. read more

Whenever I want to get a sure thing in relation to a sandwich I go here. The ingredients are always fresh. The bread is always fluffy and flavorful. Initially, I went to the Allen location on McDermott/I75 but their service was rude and full of lies including their manager who didn't want make the Fiesta Chicken pizza. He first mentioned that sandwich is discontinued so I said it's still on the menu board in front of me, then said we don't have the ingredients so I said why is it on the menu then finally mentioned our GM told them only make the 3-4 pizzas from the pizza menu. I've been to 20+ scholotzkys around DFW and never had any issues ordering this pizza.. I left that location and drove an extra 3.5 miles / 7 mins further to the North Plano location to order my food. I highly recommend to go to the North Plano location and AVOID the Allen Location, they are running it like a street taco stand and don't care about customer service or business.... read more

Usually the service and food at this location is pretty good. I stopped by with my family at 11:10am and walked up to the empty counter. I could see a guy in the back putting together sandwiches and all the other employees (5-6 of them) sitting at tables eating lunch. After about 5 minutes the guy in the back came out and said something to the employees and went into the back. Didn't say anything to us. The employees started to slowly pack up their lunches and clean up. At this point we had been standing there for 10 minutes. So I places an order (using GrubHub) and I ordered a small Turkey Original with heavy mayonnaise and no red onions. So what do they send me? A small Turkey Original with meat and cheese only! No mayo at all, and no lettuce, tomatoes, olives, etc. And, when I called and let them know what they did their response was "we will give you a free Turkey Original next time you come in... looks like I got a $20 (with fees) plain-Jane sandwich. I was hungry and a sandwich and cinnabon sounded good, so on the way home I grabbed a ham and cheese sandwich as a mini-bon through the drive thru. The drive thru was quick and the staff member who took care of my order was friendly and prompt. When I got the food at home, it was bleh. The sandwich wasn't too great, and a little too expensive for me. What was the most disappointing was my mini-bon. It was BURNT and super hard! You can smell the burnt smells from this sad mini-bon. I thought about driving back but I got too lazy. I hope this is a one-off because I would love to get a Cinnabon through a drive thru and not have to go inside a mall! This review is for the Schlotsky's in Allen, TX located on McDermott. I dont know what it will take to get these people to understand the idea of extra onions on a sandwich, or when asked for extra crackers for your soup, or extra salad dresing for your salad. You can order, ask them if they did it and they will look you in the eye and tell you they did. You get your order home and they haven't done any of it. Today we ordered and not only did they not get our order correct but the Sprite was bad as well. They need to change it out. Do you ever try out the drinks to ensure that they are fresh? Maybe you should take a few minutes and ensure that your drink are consumable. I called and complained and all I was told was, well you can order next week and we will take care of it. Next Week? What about today? The woman I spoke to could have cared less. We wont go there again! We have given them enough chances. If you are thinking about this location, go some place else. read more

Though I have not tried any of the Cinnabon products at this location, the Schlotzsky's itself was delightful. I went in around noon on a Monday and was greeted instantly. Not too busy. The girl working the counter was very patient as I thought about what I wanted to order and had a very good attitude as well. She made me feel welcomed. I asked her what she recommended and she was very helpful with her response. When I ordered my sandwich, I had many picky specifications but they got it right. I had no complaints. Overall, it was a great experience with a great atmosphere and even better food. read more

The Good, Bad, and the Ugly..... Let's start with the Good: The renovation they did to the cafe turned out great! All new furniture and they finally did something about the problem of the afternoon sun beaming in that used to make it unbearable to sit in 90% of the cafe. I'm hopeful they renovated the kitchen too, but I couldn't tell. The Bad: When we made our order to Espanarza (I think that was her name...heavy, dark haired lady, wears glasses, look to be in her early to mid 20's) she was preparing sandwiches and came over, took our order and handled the money with the plastic gloves still on. Once she was finished taking our order, she went back to preparing food with the same gloves on. She went on break and had a flat pizza to eat, licking her fingers, wiping her mouth and touching her face throughout her dinner. I watched to see if she would either go to the restroom to wash up or use the hand sink that was directly behind the counter. She didn't do either, plus she started handing out food without even wearing plastic gloves. YUK!! The Ugly: Espanarza was very unfriendly and seemed put out with any and all the customers. At one point, a middle aged couple were leaving and they set their plates down on the counter that was next to the kitchen entrance. Espanarza was in the cafe cleaning tables and turned to see where the couple had left their plates and said "SIR, THOSE PLATES GO OVER HERE"! She was referring to the shelf above the trash can. The customer apologized and left. Wow, REALLY?!?!? Your gonna call out a customer like that for such a menial thing??? Unbelievable. Espanarza needs to be working somewhere that doesn't involve dealing with the public or food. read more

I've eaten here occasionally over the years (it's a little off my beaten path), but I've always had good food, be it pizza, soup or the wonderful Original sandwich (the only one I ever order). While I was disappointed in the soup choices yesterday and chose not to go that way, my medium original was perfectly made and tasted fantastic. We went here with two other families with kids, Saturday at 8PM last weekend after the concert at the park in Watters Creek. The place was absolutely empty (maybe a symptom of things to come) but they still managed to mess up our to go orders. One of the kids pizza was completely forgotten whereas another was burnt to a crisp. One adults sandwich was missing and the soup was just leftover clumps of cheese and broccoli. We call back and the manager tells us they are closed and we can come tomorrow to claim the missing items (really?) With hungry, cranky kids in tow, we head out again to Wendy's and Taco Bell for their food. No problems with the order there! The food itself was below average...the famous bread was stale and obviously taken out from the fridge because it was cold! This seems to be symptomatic of all Schlotzkys locations - rude, condescending staff, bad food and getting orders wrong. This is the last time I am eating Schlotzkys....too many good places around to settle for such food and service Instead of eating at this place go across the street to ChikFilA or Panda Express and you won't be disappointed read more

I can't vouch for other things but the sandwich was just as good as I remembered. I haven't had Scholtzky's for years!!! I asked for one of those panini looking Italian sandwiches and I wanted on the sourdough bread (because I love those signature sourdough so much!). It tasted fabulous! For me, it tasted like it was made in a upscale restaurant instead of a chain store. The environment was quite. There's a patio outside with plenty of shades. Plus the lady who took my order was super genuine. She told me all the good and bad (places to try out around town). I had a very enjoyable lunch there :) read more

During this COVID stuff my hubby and I have rarely done takeout and where we used to eat at a restaurant at least once or twice a week it's made me miss and/or crave certain restaurants. Earlier this week I finally gave in to my craving Schlotzsky's, primarily because we'd just received a page of coupons with the weekly grocery ads. So I went to the one here in Allen. Went inside to order having sanitized my hands mask on and used elbow to grab door from another customer exiting at time I was entering. The first young gal I encountered behind the counter was masked properly and was fully engaged in icing the Cinnabon batch that had just been made. She briefly stopped though and went back into kitchen area and told another employee to come up to the counter to take my order. This person taking order had the personality of a brick. It was as if she had been inconvenienced to come take my order. Also, she had her mask down only covering her mouth. I politely asked her to please adjust her mask to wear it properly and she moved it slightly up but it still wasn't covering her nose. I should have left then, but I didn't want to make a scene and my order was almost ready since I was the only customer there now. The only reason I didn't just ask for my money back and leave was because I had been craving this for a couple of weeks. I don't know if it was just my body being upset about the mask thing or what, but I had tummy issues later that evening after eating my sandwich. Hoping it was just a coincidence. Haven't been here in a while and boy have they improved everything from the eating area to the food. Very friendly service and clean eating area.
